We all know that glowing, healthy skin doesn’t start or end with skin care products—its a reflection of what’s going on inside our bodies. And of course, one of the easiest ways to maintain a daily self care practice is by simply getting enough hydration.
So around our office, you could say we’re sort of hydration freaks.
But our newest addiction has us more hydrated and nourished than ever before. We’re so excited to introduce you to Bumbleroot.
Meet Bumbleroot
Bumbleroot’s Hydration Drink Mix features coconut water and the African superfruit Baobab to create a refreshing, delicious drink with electrolytes and antioxidants that both hydrates and nourishes. The drinks contain nearly 30% of the daily recommended value of potassium (that’s the same potassium as 2-3 bananas!) — all without the sugars, sodium, or artificial flavors that are standard ingredients in other hydration and sports drinks.
Bumbleroot Foods is working toward a regenerative food system one drink at a time (and will soon be offering snacks and food experience kits).
The team at Bumbleroot wants to be your trusted source for foods that span a global range of flavors and ingredients — letting you explore new foods and new stories while supporting a regenerative approach to agricultural production.
The Drink Mixes: Hydration + Nutrition
The pocket-sized drink mixes can be added to your water bottle to provide an easy, delicious way to fuel your body and enhance your everyday activities — whether you’re at your desk or training for an ironman race.
how to drink your bumbleroot
For smoothie lovers, the drink mixes make a great smoothie base to which other other fruits, vegetables, and superfoods can be added.
And because the drinks aren’t bottled, you won’t contribute to the 50 million plastic bottles that are thrown away each day in the United States.
Two tasty flavors – Turmeric Ginger, Raspberry Hibiscus mint, and Original – are currently available. Best of all, the flavors are provided by the real thing — real turmeric in the turmeric ginger drink, real raspberry crystals in the raspberry hibiscus mint drink…well, you get the picture.
Bumbleroot drinks are sweetened with organic stevia and low-glycemic monkfruit.
Bao-what?
The baobab fruit (it looks sort of like a coconut) comes from the baobab tree, which is grown throughout Africa. Also known as the “tree of life”, the massive and gnarly Baobab tree looks like it has been torn out of the ground and turned upside down. Many of the trees are hundreds to thousands of years old and are the center of a biodiverse ecosystem that has developed around them.
The cream-colored fruit pulp dries in the shell, and is removed by cracking the shell open. The seeds are removed, and the powder is finely crushed and is then put through a sieve. No additional processing is necessary.
