When I started to investigate the food industry I was shocked. Big Food uses deceptive marketing practices to trick customers into thinking their food is something that it’s not. They lobby against transparent ingredient labeling. They treat American customers differently than their European counterparts.
We are being misled at every turn. Product labels are lying. Brands are finding ways to cut costs by cutting real ingredients from their food and adding more processed chemicals. The fact that Big Food is using a lot of these chemicals to make us addicted to their products really angers me. A lot people don’t know how to break free. And, I want to teach people how to break free.
I have made it my life’s mission to tell people the truth about what’s in their food and how it could affect their health. I’ve spent the last few years being an activist, forcing companies to change their ways, and we have had some big successes – but the truth is… Big companies don’t change fast enough. And most companies don’t value our health over profits.
That’s why I decided to take matters into my own hands. I no longer wanted to sit back and hope these big companies would change. As Mahatma Gandhi once said, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”
He’s right. And, that’s why I launched my own product line, Truvani.
I am finally able to create the same healthy products that I always wanted to see in stores, not just for myself – but for you too. My ultimate goal in the creation of Truvani is to give you the tools you need for a healthy and organic lifestyle, allowing you to look and feel your best – for life.
I am so excited to introduce you to our first product, an organic daily turmeric supplement.
The reason why I chose turmeric as our first product is because it is something that I personally wanted to take daily and couldn’t find a good one on the market. The turmeric supplement I had been taking was acquired by a conventional chemical company and I could no longer support buying their product.
Turmeric is gaining popularity right now, but turmeric has been part of my life since I was a child.
I grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and at the time we were one of the only Indian families. I looked different. I had different skin color. And, my mom was cooking way different meals than what my neighbors and the other kids at school were eating. Every day she’d cook two different meals for our family. For my brother and I she’d prepare typical American processed food meals so we’d fit in with everyone in the neighborhood. For my dad, she cook these amazing curries from scratch, which took hours cutting fresh vegetables and shopping at the farmer’s market. Looking back, this is one of my biggest regrets… The Indian food my mom was cooking for my dad was so incredibly nutrient-dense and full of spices including turmeric that has amazing health benefits.
Over the years turmeric has increasingly been part of my life. It’s been in many masalas my mom has made… it has stained our counter… and is really the foundation of Indian cooking that has been passed down to me from my mother (which I hope to pass on to my daughter as well!)
You may be wondering how taking turmeric helps you. So, let me break down some of turmeric’s remarkable qualities.
First, it is anti-inflammatory*. The active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin, a potent anti-inflammatory that helps maintain healthy inflammation responses* when taken internally. This is my personal favorite reason why I love this product and plan to take it daily.
It is also beneficial in promoting overall joint and heart health, while supporting weight loss and helping the body produce more radiant and healthy-looking skin*.
Turmeric’s powerful antioxidant properties fight excess free radicals in the body that can damage cells and diminish health*. There is a lot to love about turmeric! It helps me feel healthy and vibrant – and I plan to continue taking it for the rest of my life.
Every single ingredient inside our Daily Turmeric Supplement is organic. Here’s why this is super important…
I believe organic is better for my health, the environment, and the farmers who grow our food. When I switched to eating primarily organic whole foods, everything changed in my life. I went from someone overweight and sick to a new being of vibrant health. I want everyone to feel this way! And I know many people, like you, feel the same. I also ensured that our non-GMO organic supplement wasn’t tainted with heavy metals and the weedkiller glyphosate (AKA Monsanto’s Roundup). This is so important to me so that’s why I was willing to take all these extra steps.
I’m so happy to partner with Annmarie Skin Care to share this amazing new supplement with you.

I would have loved to grown up in your household! My mother and grandmother made food from scratch as well but nothing as flavorful as Indian spices. Tumeric has such a vibrant color…cheers to healthy feasting!

Hi there! I’ve been reading all the recent hype about turmeric and curcumin, and have been considering buying some turmeric root and/or some supplements, but then in my research I read that turmeric is not recommended for those individuals prone to kidney stones, because of its high oxalate content. I have had kidney stones twice now, and am actively avoiding things that are high in oxalates. I did not see any advisory note regarding kidney stones in this article or on the Truvani website. Can you comment on the oxalate content of your turmeric supplement? Thanks!
Michon Newman
Hi Diane! Not quite sure about turmeric & curcumin’s effects on kidney stone prone individuals… We would recommend following up with an ND! They would most definitely know the answer to that question 🙂
