From the farms we source our ingredients to the glue we use under our labels, we place a high priority on making sure every part of our process is loving towards you and our planet. We are intentional to only source with integrity, considering workers, wages, the environment and having outstanding quality on our minds. And we make sure that our products are as close to nature as possible. 

How we source our honey and beeswax is no exception. Honey is a natural humectant that helps skin absorb and retain moisture. It’s also rich in active enzymes and gluconic acid, which offers a gentle and natural alpha-hydroxy brightening effect to the skin. Beeswax is an integral ingredient used in many of our products to enhance texture and help retain moisture. 

We’re very aware that common honey-production methods can be detrimental to the environment, bee population and natural wildlife. Conventional methods put pressure on a bee population that’s already struggling to thrive. Many bee farms can be unethical in their treatment of bees by feeding them food they wouldn’t normally eat, like sugars from wheat and corn, that doesn’t benefit their health. This only increases the imbalance of bees and their part in our natural wildlife and ecosystem. 

True Source Certification

That’s why we made sure our honey and bee products are True Source Certified. True Source Certification is a voluntary system of traceable authenticity testing using independent, third-party testing. 

The testing detects the presence of added sugars from rice, wheat, beet syrup, cane or corn syrups so you can be sure your honey is pure and authentic from bees. 

True Source Certified also ensures that each party adheres to the following:

• Produce and sell authentic honey directly from their own operation
• Regular audits of their brand
• Use honey only from their country of operation
• Maintain a system of traceability for every shipment of honey

Essentially this certification offers another check and balance of the honey producing process, ensuring that our sourcing is aligned with our core values.
