Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So that is a little bit about us. And then let's see, from there we can kind of jump into the products and routines and all of that. The general routine that we recommend, that is just kind of like our basic four step routine that we recommend for pretty much everybody, consists of cleansing, toning, using a serum, and then a facial oil or a moisturizer. Our facial moisturizers are oils. So that is our general recommendation. I always tell people that it's best to really customize your routine, find what works best for your skin, what works best for your lifestyle, etc. Maybe you're somebody who does nothing right now, maybe you have no routine. So maybe it feels like a lot to jump into a four step routine. And in that case, maybe you want to start even more simple than that. Maybe you want to just have a cleanser and an oil, and then you could always build from there. Or maybe you're somebody who wants a really full routine, who wants six steps with a treatment mask and the boosting elixirs and all the things. We've got that too. So you really can customize it to make it whatever works best for you is what I'm saying. But that's the basic routine that we'll kind of focus on today.
And as far as the product line goes before we jump in, I'll touch on collections really quickly. So within our line we have a lot of products, which you've probably noticed. So sometimes that can be a little overwhelming for people if they're new to the line. We've got it broken down to a few different collections. The two main collections that we have that we'll focus on are the Signature Collection. So all of the Signature Collection products have the tan labeling. These products are a lot of our best selling products. A lot of these products have been around since we first got started. The other main collection that we've got is the Wild Alchemy Collection. So all of these products have the black and gold labeling. This is our luxury line. What makes it our luxury line is that the products in this collection have higher levels of activated ingredients. So things like our bioactive A complex, which is our retinol alternative or our THDA, which is our pure vitamin C. So those types of ingredients, they have more of those activated ingredients. They also have more exotic ingredients. So more of these like globally sourced ingredients, things like mangongo oil and baobab oil. Also the crafting process, the way they're made is usually just a little bit more laborious than the products in the Signature Collection.
We do also have some smaller collections, but those two are our main two collections. Our Essentials Collection, which sometimes I touch on, is just two products. It's the Renew Facial Cream Cleanser and the Radiate Oil. These two products are actually offered at a lower price point than any of our other products. And the reason for that is just that they don't include our herb infusions. So the way that they're made is really simple. The formulas are really simple but they're still great products. And I feel like I do touch on them sometimes because Grace and I both really like the Radiate Oil. That's one of our favorites. These products can be good options for somebody that has more sensitive skin, or somebody who maybe is just getting started with a routine, maybe like a teen or something like that.

Okay, great. So from there we could jump in and start answering questions and products and all of that. Would anybody want to share a little bit about your skin, about why you joined the call, what questions you have, any of that?
Customer: Sure. Yeah. Hi, my name's Rosa and I recently saw, I got the trial kit. And I've been looking for cleaner beauty products. I buy a lot at the natural grocery store. And then I've been using Dr. Hauschka for years, which I've been trying to get away from, but it just feels so good, but I know there's some things in there that I really would rather not put on my skin. It's very dry here in Colorado and I'm aging and dealing with, you know, all the fun things that go along with that. So I was looking for cleaner beauty products and I saw the trial advertised. I think it was Dr. Mark Hyman's email where people suggested, “Oh, I love all these things”. And so I thought, let me just do this. So I'm very new to the line. I'm not that familiar with serums. So I've been kind of experimenting with these serums. I love the way this Activated Night Serum smells. Oh my gosh. So good. And then I'm not really familiar with using oils versus moisturizing creams. That's kind of where I'm at.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Okay. And did you get the Clean Beauty Trial Kit? With the Aloe Herb Cleanser, Anti-Aging Serum, and Anti-Aging Facial Oil.
Customer: Yes. And I think the Activated Night Serum was a gift.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Okay, perfect. Yeah so that kit, the Clean Beauty Trial Kit, that's a really popular starter kit. A lot of people who are new to the line start with that one and it's a great one to start with. It does usually have some kind of add on. That's a great one, the night serum. But yeah, that is a great place to start.
The Aloe Herb Cleanser is very popular. It's our best selling cleanser. People love that one.
Customer: It feels great. It feels really good, you know, after you use it.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah. That one is a creamy nourishing cleanser. It's really good for all skin types. So a lot of times I tell people, you know, if you're confused or overwhelmed or don't know where to start that can be a good one to start with. It's got the aloe in it, of course. So aloe is rich in vitamins and minerals, phytonutrients and enzymes and all of these things that are nourishing the skin. It's also got some coconut oil in there, so it gives it that nice creamy texture. It's got the lemon essential oil, which is purifying and brightening and gives it that really nice smell, that citrusy scent profile. I think that's part of why it's so popular, because it smells great. Grace always says she wishes she had it in a candle.
And then the Anti-Aging Serum, that one is very popular. Again a bestseller. This is our best selling serum. And so serums in general, they are excellent hydrators. There's the difference between dehydrated skin, which is skin that's lacking water, and then dry skin, which is skin that's lacking oil. So your hydrators in your routine are going to be your serum and your toning mist. And then your moisturizer is going to be your facial oil. So most people have a little bit of both, a little bit of dehydration, a little bit of dryness. So that's kind of why we recommend incorporating both types of products into your routine. Both hydrators and moisturizers.
Also, serums in general, aside from being excellent hydrators, are made up of smaller molecules. Smaller than say a facial oil, so they're able to penetrate more deeply and then they also contain higher levels of activated ingredients. Serums really allow you to customize your routine to target and treat whatever your concerns are.
Back to the Anti-Aging Serum, so this one is very popular, great for all skin types. This one I tend to refer to as an overall dose of daily skin nutrition. It's very antioxidant rich. It's got the buddleia extract in there. It's got the life everlasting flowers. It's a floral blend. And then it’s got hyaluronic acid in it. We use a non-GMO, vegetable sourced hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic is a humectant. It binds water to the skin. And hyaluronic in particular holds 1,000 times its weight in water. So it's considered a super hydrator. So again, really deeply hydrating the skin, that's going to have kind of a plumping effect on the skin. Whereas if your skin is dehydrated, then it's going to emphasize the appearance of fine lines. So what else with that one? That one's got the Buddleia, the Life Everlasting, the Hyaluronic. There's some Rose in there as well. So soothing, good for calming the look of temporary redness in the skin. And again, like I said, the scent profile if you're a scent person. The scent profile for that one is very floral and then vetiver heavy as well.
Customer: Yeah, it smells a little woodsy. It's not my favorite smell. I mean, I don't hate it, but the other one, the Activated Night Serum. That's the one that smells really good. But I see that's the black label.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, I feel like scent profile is such a personal thing. I personally don't love the scent profile of the Anti-Aging Serum and Anti-Aging Oil. So those are not the ones that I use regularly. But, they are our most popular product, so I think a lot of people do love that scent. But that's why I always kind of mention it, because that way when you're looking at products, trying to decide what to choose you have an idea of the scent profile.
Customer: So what is the thing with using oils versus a cream? Is a cream clogging the pores or why is it oils instead of creams?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So the reason we've chosen to use oils is just because oils are more pure. They don't require any fillers or waxes to be used. Your skin's natural form of moisture is oil, so they're easily absorbed by the skin. That's kind of our main reasoning behind choosing oils. If you go to a drugstore or department store or whatever and you pick up a face cream, a lot of times the first ingredient is water. Usually ingredients are listed by level of concentration. So if the first ingredient is water, you know, you don't want your product to be mostly water because then it's not doing much for you. And then also if there is water in the product, then it has to include more preservatives because bacteria can grow more easily. So you don't have that issue with an oil.
I would say oils, you know, it can take some time to get used to using an oil as your moisturizer if you're not used to it. Usually I tell people if they are just getting started with using oils as a moisturizer, first off, to use less. I tend to overuse my facial oil because I like to really massage it in and I like having that bit of slip, but really you don’t need much at all. Especially if you are applying while your skin is still damp (ideally from your toning mist or even with just water).
I also always recommend making sure that you're applying it when your skin is still slightly damp from your toning mist. Or if you're not using a toning mist, apply it when your skin is still slightly damp, even just with water from cleansing your face. That'll help with absorption because your skin is like a sponge, it's going to absorb better when it's a little bit damp. And then when the oil is absorbed properly, it doesn’t every feel like it is just kind of sitting on top of the skin, it feels like it's absorbed nicely.
Customer: So on top of the serum though, you put the serum first and then the oil on top of it?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yes. That's right. So you would cleanse with your Aloe Herb Cleanser and just rinse clean and then you can pat your skin dry. It doesn't have to be like bone dry, just pat dry. And then using a toning mist, mist your toning mist, and then while your skin is still damp, apply your serum, wait for like a second, whatever, and then apply your oil. And then if you wanted to, this might be a little excessive for some people, but you could even (I do this most of the time) you can mist your toning mist over your oil as well, which again, just helps to like dilute the oil a little bit so that it doesn't feel heavy or greasy or anything like that on your skin. So that's kind of why we've chosen oils and how I usually recommend that people incorporate them if they're not used to using them. You can even play around with mixing your serum and your oil if you wanted to, if that feels better for you. You can just kind of play around with it and see what feels good to you.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Okay. Then, let's see, what else is in there? The Anti-Aging Facial Oil comes in that kit. I always kind of laugh because it's so small. But so that facial oil is in our Signature Collection. Again, it's one of our best sellers. It has a similar scent profile as the Anti-Aging Serum. This one is a jojoba oil base. As a company, we recommend jojoba oil for dry and mature skin types, I personally love jojoba, and I think it's great for all skin types. But the Anti-Aging Oil is a jojoba oil base. Jojoba very closely resembles the texture of your skin's natural sebum. So that one is a very nourishing, very restorative facial moisturizer for dry and mature skin. That one, along with the jojoba base, has a bunch of different seed oils in it. It’s got broccoli seed oil, carrot seed oil, chia seed oil. Chia, for example, is rich in vitamin B and zinc. It’s got some goji in it as well, a powerful antioxidant. So again, a very popular choice.
And then the bonus that you got in that kit, the Activated Night Serum that one is in the Wild Alchemy Collection. It's a newer product of ours. That one's fantastic. That's especially great for somebody that is looking to address signs of aging, the look of dark spots, etc. So the Activated Night Serum, as it says, is only to be used at night. So you would use say the Anti-Aging Serum in the morning and the Activated Night Serum at night. And that is because it contains our retinol alternative, which is our bioactive A-Complex. So when we created this product, we wanted to have something that had a similar effect on the skin as a traditional retinol, but without any of the negative effects. Traditional retinols often can cause irritation and dryness, so a lot of times people with more sensitive skin aren't able to use them. They can be harmful to health. They can be harmful to reproductive health. Even for skin health if you're using a conventional retinol or retin-A or anything like that over an extended period of time it's going to start to thin the skin, which isn't really what we want as we age. We don't want to thin the skin. We want to have really healthy, resilient skin. We want to support our skin's natural barrier. Our Bioactive A Complex has that similar renewing, resurfacing effect on the skin that you get with a conventional retinol product, but without any of these negative effects. It is derived from algae, so it is a completely safe ingredient. It's a Made Safe approved ingredient. And then it's a really nice blend, the Activated Night Serum, because you've got that activated Bioactive A in there and then it's paired with some really nice soothing, calming ingredients like lavender and blue chamomile. So it's a great balance of the activated ingredient paired with those calming ingredients. This one is kind of a thicker, richer texture than some of our other serums that are a bit more aqueous, so it feels really hydrating, really nourishing. As I mentioned, this product is to be used at night and with an SPF during the day. While it is not a conventional retinol, it can still make your skin more sensitive to the sun.
Customer: Oh, so you could use it during the day, but you would need to put a SPF over it, is what you're saying?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: No, no. You wouldn’t ever use this serum during the day. And though you use it at night, you still use an spf in the morning.
Customer: Oh, oh, I see. Okay.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Okay, cool. Does anybody else have any questions or want to share? Yeah, Margaret.
Customer: Okay. Well, thanks, Emily, for being here with us today. I know you don't feel good. So super appreciative. I guess the goal that I wanted, I just need help with, like, when I go online, there's so many choices, right? And to date my skincare routine has been like, I've done your aloe for the cleanser and then I make my own because I've over the years, I've been very sensitive. And I think I've gotten a lot stronger now, so I feel like I'm ready to do more. I'm going to be 59 in June, so I feel like I really want to be on top of everything. A couple of things that were concerning me are just like a couple of the sunspots that are appearing. And then the dermatologist said that she would give me hydroquinone or something like that and that just sounds toxic. I don't know if it's good for you or not. I don't know if you know anything about it, but I can't imagine it's all natural. So do you have an equivalent to that for age spots that would be number one and then number two would be, could you just help me select like the four or five items that I would need. I've tried the cleanser before. Hold on. I'm going to tell you which one it is because I'm online. Okay. I use the, just the aloe one right now, but I've tried the phytonutrient one and that is just unbelievable. So is there a, I guess the question is, because, you know, I'm going to get lots of products it's going to be very expensive, right? So when you have a wonderful cleanser like that, and it's that expensive you're just, you're washing and then, you know, you're just washing it off. Does it do anything really more than the other one? Or are you really just washing it off? And I'm asking that in terms of, if it doesn't, then I would apply the pennies it would cost to get that to get a serum or something instead. Or how important is it between the two? I do remember absolutely loving that, like feeling like it was a night and day difference from the regular aloe cleanser. So if we could just start there with the cleanser. Which one would you recommend? I mean, they're both good probably, but are you spending a lot of money just to wash it off your face two minutes later or is it doing anything?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah so honestly I use and like both of those cleansers. I alternate between them. I think they're both excellent. The Phytonutrient Cleanser definitely is richer, it has a little bit like a fattier texture because it's got a mango seed butter in there. So to me it does feel a little bit more moisturizing. I always tell people with any cleansing routine, I encourage people to really take their time, be thorough but especially with that Phytonutrient cleanser, I always tell people to let it be on the skin for a minute before you rinse it away, because it does have more of those activated ingredients, like the apple extract in there. The apple extract is rich in vitamin C and malic acid. So it is great for brightening the look of dark areas. So I do encourage people, especially with that one to let it be on the skin for a few minutes. And I do, like, I feel what you're saying, even if you're going to let it be on the skin for a few minutes, you are essentially rinsing it off. So if you are pinching pennies and determining do I want to invest more in a cleanser or a serum? You want to invest more in the serum because it's staying in your skin.
Customer: Okay, that's super helpful. So that would be my cleanser and then my next step would be, you said toning.
I mean, what is toning? I don't know if that's really necessary or, I mean, tell me what the toning does.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah. So I think it's kind of a personal preference. Like I think a toning mist is a thing that a lot of people skip because they're like, “I don't really need a toning mist”. And, of course, you don’t have to have a toner. I love a toner and I can't live without a toner. The toner is just offering that dose of hydration that I mentioned, because the toner and the serum are your hydrators. So adding water to the skin, essentially. And then they're providing a dose of skin supporting nutrients, depending on your skin type and which toning mist you choose. They also help with absorption, so like I was saying, I think it's really important to apply your serum while your skin is still damp from the toning mist. And like I said, even if you're not using a toning mist, I personally prefer to apply my products when my skin is damp, even with just water, like if I wasn't going to use a toning mist for some reason.
Customer: And then do you just have one toner? Like when I get online, it is overwhelming. I don't know what to pick. So I'm asking right now. I'm taking notes and I’m writing down exactly what I'm going to buy. What would it be called that I'm getting? Is there more than one toner or what is it? I'm looking online here.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, so we have three different ones. You would probably choose between the Neroli Toning Mist or the Botanical Hydration Mist.
So, the Neroli Toning Mist, this one here, is in our Signature Collection.
Customer: That's, which one is that?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Neroli.
Customer: Okay, that's signature.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yep. It's very popular. People love this one. It's a very simple formula. It's an aloe vera juice base. The neroli essential oil. Neroli is derived from fresh orange blossoms, so it has a really lovely scent to it. I think that is part of why it is so popular, people love the way it smells. And then it's got aspen bark extract, which is a natural preservative and also a natural source of salicins.

So that would be your first option. I think it's a completely great option, I think you would be totally happy with it. The other option, if you wanted the kind of step up, would be the Botanical Hydration Mist. This is the one in the Wild Alchemy Collection. It is twice the size, so just a note, it's twice as much that you're getting. Okay. This one, again, is great for all skin types. This one's especially good for sensitive skin. It has a blend of four different types of chamomile in there and the rose, so it can be very calming and soothing. Grace is like our sensitive skin poster child here at Annmarie Skin Care and she loves this one. It’s one of her “holy grail products”
This one does have a little bit more of those anti-aging ingredients because it's got the Immortelle, which is that really powerful antioxidant. And it also has the frankincense, which is known to tone, tighten and rejuvenate the skin. Scent profile wise, the Neroli, like I said, has that more sweet smell. And then this one is definitely more herbal with the frankincense and the Immortelle in there. So that could be helpful in deciding, if you are a scent person.
Customer: Okay. That's beautiful. And step three is going to be, okay, well, quick question. We've got step one, two, three, and four, but if I have the sunspots, are we going to add something else in, or is it, am I going to get the bang? Am I going to get some help from these other products? Well, I guess step three is serum, you're saying, so what would I get for a serum?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: As far as adding extra steps, it's really up to you. I feel like you could start with the four steps, and then down the road, maybe you want to, I can give you options of things to add in, but you don't necessarily have to get them all at once, you know?
Okay, so we talked about the cleanser, we talked about the toner, and then step three is the serum. So again, there's probably two that you could choose between.
The first one, I don't have here, but it's the Citrus Stem Cell Serum. That one is in the Signature Collection. That one is geared towards brightening, the look of dark spots. It's got a brightening combo that's amla berry, which is very rich in vitamin C. And then it's got licorice root and uva ursi. Those are both lightening and brightening ingredients. A lot of times you'll find licorice root used as an alternative to hydroquinone in natural products.

Hydroquinone is actually banned everywhere but in the U. S.
Customer: So you're saying it'll help, it probably won't make it go away, but it'll help.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, so with brightening the look of dark spots, I think a couple of things. Like especially with natural products, you can see a difference, but consistency is key. You need to be really consistent. And also protection is key. If you're using all of the brightening products and you're not using any kind of SPF, you're kind of wasting your time and money.
Customer: Okay. And all of the serums you’re going to talk about are anti-aging too?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yes, so the Citrus Stem Cell it's got that brightening trio in it that I mentioned. The other kind of component of that one, the other like main thing about it, I guess you could say, is the citrus derived stem cells. So we use plant derived stem cells in our products.
Conventional skincare products, if they have stem cells, sometimes they're derived from animals, sometimes they're derived from humans. So ours are plant derived and those stem cells are providing proteins and peptides and amino acids and all of these things that are really strengthening the skin. Helping to create healthy resilient skin. So, yes, the Citrus Stem Cell is helpful for addressing both signs of aging and the look of dark spots.
The other option would be the Wild Fruit Serum. This is the one in the Wild Alchemy Collection. My personal favorite. I love this serum. This one again, brightening and anti aging. So this one has the apple extract. It's the same apple extract that is in the Phytonutrient Cleanser. So again, rich in vitamin C, rich in malic acid, helping to brighten the look of skin. It's got knotweed extract, which is rich in resveratrol. It's got Madonna lily plant cells. It's got a really dense infusion of those plant cells. 1.5 million active plant stem cells in each bottle. And then it also has kakadu plum. So kakadu plum contains phenolic acid. Phenolic acid behaves on the skin similar to an alpha hydroxy acid. So alpha hydroxy acids have an exfoliating effect. They dissolve the glue that holds the top layer of skin cells.
All right. So that would be your other option as far as a serum.
Customer: Okay. So I've got my cleanser. I can do either. Then it's going to be the neroli or the botanical one for the toner, and the serum will be the wild fruit or the citrus. And then you said the fourth is an oil. And what would I pick for that?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So we have a few options. I'm going to touch on this question in the chat really quickly and then we'll come back to your facial oil.
Anna's asking which products she can use and which ones she cannot use with the Concentrated Boosting Elixirs.
So the Concentrated Boosting Elixirs, they come in this set of three. The three in the set are the Hydrate, the Brighten, and the Revitalize. The Hydrate is also sold on its own in this larger size, so you can buy it separately if you wanted to. The Brighten is also sold on its own in the larger size, so you could buy that one separately if you wanted to also.
This would be one, Margaret, one that you could keep in your back pocket if down the road you might want to add something into your routine that's going to help, again, to address the look of those dark spots.
Customer: What is that one called?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: It’s called Brighten Concentrated Boosting Elixir (if you purchase it in the set), or Brighten-Vitamin C with Seabuckthorn (if you purchase the larger size on its own).
Customer: Okay. And is it a serum, or what is it?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: It's an elixir. These elixirs are made to be mixed. So you always mix them, you don't apply them directly to the skin because they're very concentrated. Ideally you would mix them with a serum. If you were not using a serum for some reason, you could mix them with a facial oil. The reason we recommend mixing with a serum is because the serum is that smaller molecule. It's sitting closest to the skin. So you're getting these activated ingredients to penetrate as deeply as possible. But so the way that you use them is that you mix them with a serum. You can mix them with any of our serums, you can mix them with any of our oils. I'm trying to think if there's any exception to that. You would not mix the Brighten elixir with the Activated Night Serum. These are the only two that you wouldn't mix together. If you were using both of these products in your routine, you would use the Brighten in the morning and the Activated Night Serum in the evening. You don’t want to mix together a vitamin C and a retinol (or in this case a retinol alternative) in the same application. So I think that's the only exception. Can you think of any other exception, Grace? Let me know if you can. But so you can mix them, other than that, with any serum or any facial oil. You could also get really creative. Our COO likes to mix the Brighten Elixir with her Illuminating Pearl Mask.
When we created these elixirs we just wanted to have a clean alternative to some of these really popular activated ingredients that you see on the market. So the hyaluronic acid, the vitamin C, and the retinol. These are clean alternatives that give you similar results. The Hydrate elixir, this is a hyaluronic acid with vegan collagen pre peptides. So hyaluronic acid we already talked about, really deeply hydrating the skin, plumping the skin, the vegan collagen pre peptides strengthening skin.
The Brighten Elixir. This one is a pure vitamin C with seabuckthorn. So vitamin C obviously is a very popular ingredient that is used for brightening the look of skin, the look of dark spots, but there are all of these different types of vitamin C out there and a lot of them are not stable, so when they are exposed to air or mixed with a liquid they go rancid quickly and then are not effective. The vitamin C that we use in the Brighten is a tetrahexyldecylascorbate, or THDA. And the reason we chose that particular vitamin C is because it's a very stable form of vitamin C. It's also a very non irritating form of vitamin C, and it's oil soluble as well.
And then the Revitalize elixir, this is the bioactive A complex with astaxanthin. So the bioactive A complex is the retinol alternative. It's the exact same ingredient that is in the Activated Night Serum. And then it's paired with astaxanthin, which is a really powerful antioxidant. It's also what gives flamingos their pink color-fun fact. So these, like I said, are always to be mixed. So you would pump your serum into the palm of your hand. You would mix one to three drops of any of the elixirs. You can also mix and match. You could do two drops of Brighten and one drop of Hydrate, or one drop of Hydrate and two drops of Brighten, but you would mix three drops, mix it up, and apply it to the skin. Then follow with your facial oil as usual.
If you had gotten the full size of the Hydrate or the Brighten, you would mix one pump with your serum instead of three drops. So, let's say Margaret, you get the Citrus Stem Cell Serum or the Wild Fruit Serum, both of those serums have ingredients like the amla berry or the apple extract that are very rich in vitamin C, but if you were to add this Concentrated Boosting Elixir to it, you're adding the THDA, which is a pure vitamin C. So it's a different type of vitamin C. So you're just boosting the brightening benefits of those products even more. But again, these elixirs are a totally optional add on. They are not one of your basic four steps in your routine. They allow you to really customize your routine a little bit more, and they allow you to really boost the level of activated ingredients in your routine. So hopefully that makes sense, and hopefully that answers your question.
Okay. So the next step in your routine is going to be your facial oil, which is your moisturizer.
Let me think here for you what I would like to recommend for your facial oil.
Customer: And then when you're doing like the serum and the toner and all this, are you doing this just at night? So it's all seeping in and staying on for a long time. And then during the day you would do something different because you're just going to put makeup over it.Or do you do this stuff because it makes your face look really beautiful, so you would do it first and then put your makeup on?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So that's kind of personal preference. Our recommendation in general as a company is that you would do your four step routine in the morning and in the evening. I think it's personal preference. I think that is ideal if you can do that, do a full routine morning and evening. I don’t always. A lot of times I'm really tired at night and I have two kids and if I'm not wearing makeup I'm just going right to bed. Sometimes I like to do my routine in the morning because then I just feel like my skin looks better and I look less tired. But, the general recommendation is to do it both. I feel like if you were going to choose one or the other. A lot of times I would say at night, especially with the cleansing, you know, you're going to be washing away makeup and impurities and then thorough cleanse is going to prep your skin so that your serum and your oil can really absorb and work well.
Customer: Okay, so then all I need is the oil and the eye cream, and then I think I've got my whole routine.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, absolutely.
Okay, so your facial oil, again, you could probably choose between two and be happy with either. I would say the Anti-Aging Facial Oil, this one we already talked about a little bit. It's in the Signature Collection. It's very popular. People love this one. It is that jojoba oil base, so very nourishing, very restorative and then it's got all of those seed oils in there that I mentioned, the carrot seed, broccoli seed, chia seed, etc. So I think this could be a great option for you.
The other option, the kind of step up option, would be the Rejuvenating Facial Oil. This is the one in the Wild Alchemy Collection. There's only one in the Wild Alchemy Collection. There's only one oil. It's this one. So this is our most potent, our most active facial oil. Because of the way it's made, so the others, like the anti-aging, this has probably 20 herbs in the herb infusion. The Rejuvenating has just one herb, it's the butterfly pea flower. And then it also has fewer of the seed oils and the CO2 extracts and all of those things. The reason that we included fewer is that by including fewer, we can include them at higher percentages, at higher concentrations. So it makes it more active, makes it more potent. You mentioned that you’ve had sensitive skin in the past. So you might be better off starting with the Anti-Aging Facial Oil, since the Rejuvenating is more potent.
Customer: Okay. Sorry. And then is there an eye cream that you have that's good? I think that would end the whole package.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah so we have two eye care products.
We have one eye cream though, so just go with that one because it's fantastic, you will love it.
Customer: Okay.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Usually if people are choosing between the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum and the Anti-Aging Eye Cream I recommend the eye cream. This is my personal favorite. It feels very nourishing to me.This one has the cucumber distillate, so it's good for the look of puffiness. It's got the damas rose plant cells which are great for softening the look of fine lines and crows feet.

So yeah, I love this one. That's my recommendation.
Customer: Okay. So that would be a good routine? And will any of that help with the brown spots or you're saying that would be the added stuff?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yes, this routine will help with the look of dark spots for sure. You can just choose to add other things down the road that would provide extra brightening benefits like the Brighten that we talked about or a treatment mask like the Illuminating Pearl Mask.
Customer: Okay, I love it. I’ve got a routine now. Yay, thank you.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, of course. All right. Great. Did anybody else want to share anything? Like any questions that you have or anything about your skin? I feel like I saw a hand, but then I lost it.
Customer: I've enjoyed hearing all the information. It's really wonderful. So I've been using your products now for a little over two years. And so my one question, basically, I wanted to know if you could mix them, you know, instead of doing four steps, like after I do the cleanser, then and mist, I love the mist, the one that you were talking about that one in the Wild Alchemy Collection with the Imoretelle. It is awesome. But the one that I wanted to ask about is the Restorative Cleansing Oil is that the same as the Rejuvenating Facial Oil?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: No, they are different.
Customer: Okay. I tend to get whiteheads and I'm 86 years old and I don't have too many wrinkles yet. Thank goodness. But my skin's really dry. And so I love that Restorative Cleansing Oil and I like to put it on and leave it for a while. I was wondering how long you can leave it? Like I've left it for five minutes or more before I wash it off. It just feels so good. And I was wondering if it would help soften some of those plugged pores that I still seem to get?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah so the Restorative Cleansing Oil, I'm a big fan of oil cleansing. I love oil cleansing. I love this product. And yes, it can be really helpful for congested skin. It sounds kind of counterintuitive, but like attracts like, so the oil is gonna bind to oil based impurities in the skin and help to wash them away. It can help to kind of soften congestion. To use it you just apply it to dry skin with dry hands, which you probably already know.
Customer: Okay. I didn't know if you did it wet or dry.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah. So you want to apply it to dry skin with dry hands. And then especially if your focus is on congestion and that sort of thing really massage it in. Though if you have any active breakouts you want to be very gentle, you know. And then you could absolutely leave it on, like you were saying, if you want to leave it on for five minutes or 10 minutes or whatever you want, and then you can just rinse it with warm water to remove it. Some people like to remove that one with a warm washcloth or a warm towel. You also can use that one as the first step in a double cleanse routine. So if you wanted to do that, you would just follow it with the Aloe Herb Cleanser or the Phytonutrient or whatever. The cleansing oil is that jojoba oil base. It's got manuka oil in it. I am obsessed with manuka. So really like deep cleansing and calming. It's also got tea tree oil in it, which is purifying.
And then as far as mixing products, you can mix, if you wanted to mix your serum and oil together to kind of save yourself a step you totally could do that. We don't really recommend mixing different serums together. So you wouldn't mix like a pump of Citrus Stem Cell and a pump of Anti-Aging Serum and apply it. But you could mix together like your Anti-Aging Serum and your Anti-Aging Facial Oil. You could mix those together and apply in one step.
Customer: Okay. That's what I wanted to know.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Alright, is everybody feeling good? Do we feel complete? Do we have more questions?
Customer: I have a couple of just really quick questions. If we have a minute. The first one is are the full size products, do they come sealed because the trial products did not?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Well, like if you unscrew the top there's not a seal. They come in the box and then the pump tops have this little plastic piece that you take off to use the product.
Customer: Oh, okay. So they are protected, basically. And the other question was, and you didn't mention anything about organic. Are the herbs and the ingredients that you use organic?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, so our line is not certified organic because not every ingredient that we use is organic because sometimes the ingredients that we use are wildcrafted, which is actually better than organic in most cases. We also chose the Made Safe certification instead of an organic certification. Like I mentioned at the beginning of the call, this certification is pretty stringent.
Good questions. Any other questions, guys?
Okay. And I think, did we already put the email address in the chat, Grace, for CC? Grace will put that in there if you guys have any other questions, if you think of stuff you didn't get to ask or if you have any trouble with your coupon code or anything like that. You can always email customer care. Kate and Katie are awesome.
All right, you guys. Well, thank you so much for hanging out and all your questions. I appreciate all your questions. It makes it much more fun when there's questions than when I'm just talking the whole time. I hope you guys found it helpful and enjoyed it. Customer: Yeah, thank you so much for all the information. I really appreciate it. I'm excited to get my order in today.
