Customer: Kate. Yeah, this is Karen. I do have a question. You know, you would think when you're 60 years old, you won't have to worry about occasional clogged pores, you know, but clogged pores are still an issue for me. And I noticed that a couple of little ones are just really tough on my forehead.
I don't know what that's about.
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Those could be what's called milia. It's because it sounds like the texture of them is harder. Do they feel kind of harder to the touch? They don't necessarily like to squeeze or extract out. Is that right?
Customer: Correct.
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah. So that likely is what's called milia. And so we'll speak to That yeah, we'll speak to that. Milia can be a little bit tough, depending on how far into the skin it is. It might actually need some professional assistance in kind of moving along. But I can talk with, with our products and with what I might recommend for that as we're going throughout. So, I can loop that in for sure. Perfect. Yeah, let's start talking about our product.
We've got masks and scrubs and all that you can sometimes go a little bit slimmer but the four products are generally what we recommend and so those include your cleanser, your toning mist Your serum and your oil in this order here. Cleanser, toning mist, serum, and oil. So starting at the top, actually before we even start there, let's talk about the different lines.
So we have two major lines. We have the bottles that'll have this kind of tan label to it. And then we've got the bottles that'll have this like black label to it. We call this black label our Wild Alchemy Collection, and this tan label our Signature Collection. And the biggest difference is, with these two, the Wild Alchemy tends to include more, kind of like, harder to source exotic ingredients. More tropical ingredients, more ingredients that are further away or more rare things like that. The Wild Alchemy Collection also tends to have a more laborious craft process. So more steps involved in basically putting together the ingredients. It might be something like a hydrosol that's got a few more steps in order to create the finished hydrosol. It might be like copper infused water, all of that to be the final ingredient that's included. And then Thirdly, they tend to be a little bit more focused in terms of very pointedly addressing signs of aging. They're not necessarily better, and as we speak to the products, hopefully that'll make a little bit more sense, but they're a little bit more pointed, they're more focused. They're crafted with the intention for addressing signs of aging in ways that a lot of the Signature Collection might not be so focused. And so those are things to keep in mind. Also, the bottles tend to be larger sizes with the Wild Alchemy Collection, so it comes with a little bit more when you're investing in that product. So. Before we started to get into these they are interchangeable So if you've got one product in the wild alchemy collection You can absolutely still use it with a product in the signature collection or vice versa. You don't have to stick to one line. Necessarily all can kind of mix together.
So now starting at the top. We're going to get into cleansers Your cleanser, of course, is your first step, and we're using this step to both cleanse the skin, whether we're removing kind of what was released overnight, whether we're removing makeup, or kind of what came into contact with our skin during the day and then also acting as a prep.
For all of the products to come which is pretty vital because we really want the serums and the oils to be able to absorb into the skin. So making sure to pick the right cleanser is pretty key here. Now I'm going to start with our classic. This is the Aloe Herb Cleanser. And if you've tried a clean beauty trial kit, I think I saw on the survey that at least one or two people have tried the clean beauty trial kit. You've tried this one. It's got this very kind of light creamy texture to it. Let's see if I can show you which one here. So it's got a nice thin viscosity to it. None of our cleansers are going to bubble up or suds up because we don't have any sulfates. We wouldn't, we aren't even using sugar derived sulfate. So no sulfates in here. The cleansing for these is coming from the aloe. Aloe has this very saponification kind of quality to it. And so when you're applying it to the skin, especially in a really good blend, it can help to pull what's needed to come up off the skin. And to provide that very cleansed feel the aloe herb cleanser is great for dry skin with temporary redness. So, even if you don't find that you are super dry, if you get red really easily, the aloe herb cleanser is really good for you. It's also a really good one for combo or balanced skin, so the feel when you rinse this off is pretty balanced. It's pretty soft, it's not really leaving any residue behind but you definitely feel like the skin's been cleaned with this one, with the Aloe Herb Cleanser. It's also super good for the appearance of fine lines. The blend of it is very soft and very nourishing. We've got a little bit of coconut oil in here, aloe vera juice, and then this beautiful herbal blend.
And the herbal blend is what really carries the scent of it. We've got this nice like Citrusy, lemony scent to it. We've got some lemon. We've got lemon balm in here. It's just like a really light feeling. So again, anyone who's normal, combo if you're normal to dry, dry aging, early signs of aging, this is a really good one for you.
Now the next one is this one here. This is our Phytonutrient Cleanser. And this one has a little bit of a richer consistency here. See if the camera will pick up the body of it. It's a little bit fuller, a little bit richer, a little bit almost a fattier feeling. One of the active ingredients in this is a mango seed butter. And I feel like the body of this really feels like that mango seed butter. It's got a nice smoothness to it and a nice richness to it. So this is a really nice one for dry skin. It's not my favorite for skin that gets temporary redness easily. If you are somebody who experiences this, I'd stick with the aloe herb cleanser. But if dryness, dull texture, all of that is a concern. The Fido is really, really good to help with that. The feel of it is that nice fatty feel, but there's also this kind of additional richness that is left on the skin when you rinse it off. And so I do quite like it. For that, it's also got a good amount of ingredients that are addressing signs of aging in here. I have the mango seed butter, which of course is this really rich, nourishing, very fatty feeling ingredient to help to provide this nourishment and strength to the skin. I also have apple extract here, and with the apple extract we've got this tiny amount of malic acid that can be helpful for providing this light exfoliation.
I say very light, it's very light, and then it's kind of mixed in with this nourishing blend, so I don't feel activity, most people don't feel activity with this. But with that it's also helpful for dark spots. This one also includes our signature serum blend. So all of our serums start with the same signature blend, which includes aloe vera juice, and then this floral blend that's been steeped into it. And that is pretty, focused and potent for addressing lines. So the appearance of fine lines, whether these are like finer lines or kind of the repeated facial expression, you know, in between the brow sides of the eyes, all of that. And so make sure that you're using this one, all of them are good, but this one, at least 30 seconds on the skin. So you're gleaning the benefits of that signature serum blend is a recommended way to. to use this one. So again, skin types that love this one, dry skin, aging skin even normal and aging skin.
You don't have to be super dry to enjoy this one. If you are oily or sensitive, I think another one would be better for you. Sensitive. specifically to aloe herb cleanser but otherwise this, this is a good one. And for anyone who's kind of clogged pores prone, let's say you dabble back and forth. Sometimes skin's really normal. Sometimes skin has some clogged pores. If you wouldn't describe your skin as oily, I think this one can still be super helpful with that concern. If you do feel like you are oily, the citrus mint cleanser. And that's a gel based cleanser that is a better fit for that skin type. So oily skin, especially oily and clogged pores prone skin, that one's good. But yeah, this one, the phytonutrient is a really nice one to have in your arsenal if you're really wanting to address signs of aging. You're like really, you're, you're here seeking that information. This is probably what I'd recommend for you. Now, all that I've mentioned so far, for how you use them is pretty straightforward. I tend to, you know, turn my sink on, I get my fingers a little bit wet. I splash my face with a little bit of water and then I come in and pump anywhere from three, four, sometimes five, if I know I'm doing my full neck and chest pumps onto my fingers and then come in and massage it around. And then as far as technique, you can get as detailed as you want. You could be as straightforward as you want. You can just move in circles. I try to do upward motions when I'm moving mine on my face. Up my neck and on my cheeks and all of that. But you can opt, you know, decide if you wanna go that extra. You can also kind of boost how scrubby it is by like a brush. We've got this lotus brush as an option. Or you could do some sort of exfoliant either next or do a little bit into the cleanser. Just to, to boost how deeply that was exfoliating the skin.
The final one I'll speak to here, that application's a little bit different. So this is our Restorative Cleansing Oil, and this is a blend of oils. So the consistency of this, as you might guess, is very oily. So the way we recommend using this one is on dry fingers and a dry face. And so generally speaking, there are some exceptions, but generally speaking, you're going to pump it onto your fingers. And then and then kind of press it into the skin and that's great. And then, depending on what you're using this for, because this is a really good one for really dry, really textured skin. It's also really good for removing heavier makeup. For daily makeup, like mineral powders, tints and moisturizers. All the other cleansers are awesome for heavier makeup. I do like this one. So if I've had, you know, been at a wedding or like an event or something, this is the one I'll use and I'll put it on my skin and leave it on the skin for anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute. Now if your skin is also really dry or really parched, you're going to leave it on at least that long, maybe a little bit longer. It might be something that's like your first step. And then you get in the shower. You do your full shower and then rinse it. So however many minutes that would take and then rinse it off the skin. Because it's an oil consistency, it doesn't rinse clean either. And so for really dry skin types, that's the desired effect.
It leaves skin feeling very full and very plumped. But you can kind of help it along if you're like, Oh, it just feels like a little too heavy on the skin. Using a warm, wet washcloth. And helping to kind of wipe it off the face is a really great way or coming in with another cleanser. So maybe the aloe, or maybe the Fido, maybe the citrus mint, if that's the route you're going, any one of those will be great. But all of those could help remove any excess that you're, you're wanting to have kind of swooped off versus leaving more on the skin. So this is a good one. I do like to have this in. This one in my arsenal. This is good for eye makeup, too. You do want to make sure that you keep your eyes closed and all of that, of course. But otherwise, it's great for taking that off. So yeah. These are our cleansers. Any questions about these? The cleansing steps? So someone in the chat had asked, do you recommend a minimum of time to cleanse? Most of the time, at least a minute. It can go longer if you feel like you really want to do a full, you know, kind of massage. The restorative cleansing oil is also a good medium if you gua sha. We have two gua sha options. We have this one, which is kind of a more basic one. And then this one, which is a very customized design that's specific to us, but these are also great, but some sort of slip on the skin is good. So, you know, of course that would be longer. But otherwise about a minute is probably what I would recommend one to two minutes, something like that. And that should be plenty sufficient. I think I would let your skin be your guide. Yeah, any other questions about the closers? Cool. Let's get into the next step.
So the next step is our toning mists, and I actually am short one on my desk, it must be somewhere else, but that's okay. We have three toning mist options, and I will speak to all three of them. Two of them are in the Signature Collection, one's in the Botanical, or excuse me, in the Wild Alchemy Collection and they all are quite different. The function that these serve in your routine is both to provide this burst of hydration into the skin. They all are starting with some variation of a hydrator, whether that's an aloe vera juice, whether that's a hydrosol, it can kind of vary. And then they are also providing this burst of nutrition. So depending on which one you're going with, it's either going to be helpful for controlling oil. It will be helpful for providing some Kind of light moisture, this light anti-aging and then another one, which is really good for soothing the skin, for soothing irritated skin.
And so we'll speak to all of those. Now the first one I actually don't have on my desk, but this is essentially what the bottle looks like.
That one is the Neroli Toning Mist. And it is a very, very simple blend. It includes aloe vera juice, neroli essential oil, and a little bit of aspen bark. That one is awesome for skin that is normal, normal to dry, normal mature, so you're starting to see signs of aging or combo. So you might be kind of oily some days, but dry some days, or you've got different areas of the face. The neroli really can, can help to bring that into balance. The aloe vera juice is a very light hydrator for the skin. So when you're misting that onto the skin, this is absorbing into lower layers of the skin.
And helping to provide this kind of water component back to the face which can be really helpful. If you notice that your skin gets kind of creepy, like, if you're kind of, you know, you push your finger on the side of your cheek and you've got a little bit of a striation there oftentimes that will indicate that you're a little dehydrated.
And so meeting that both internally, so having good clean water and then a hydrator on the surface with the aloe vera juice is a great way to support the strength of the skin. That way Neroli is a really interesting essential oil because it's really helpful for the appearance of fine lines, super helpful for softening the appearance of fine lines. So this is a great one for the earlier signs of aging. Or if you are someone who's just taking great care of your skin and you don't have a more pronounced creasing, then this one's really helpful for that. And then the aspen bark that's in that is largely a suspension. It's used to kind of create the Good consistency between the aloe and the neroli but it does also provide a little bit of an astringent effect.
So if you are somebody who's worried about over spritzing or they're being too much, the aspen bark helps kind of balance that out.
The next one that's in the Signature Collection is this one, and this is the Rosemary Toning Mist. And this one is awesome for oil. So, and it can be either you have oily skin and you need some support there, or you're somebody who just gets a little shiny and wants to have this in your arsenal. The blend of this includes aloe vera juice, again, so this nice burst of very light hydration. It's got white willow bark, it's got neem, it's got rosemary. Of course, as the name suggests the scent of this one is very rosemary. And yeah, we name white willow bark and rosemary. And these are there like little oil gobblers. And so when you mist the skin, especially if you are somebody who's just getting shiny, you're not necessarily super dry. It helps to just absorb the excess oil on the surface without over depleting. The natural oil to the skin. So it makes for a really great blotting product you know, to use later in the day like a midday shine situation.
And what I really like about it is it leaves skin looking really bright and healthy. Still, it doesn't over modify it like blotting paper or powder or something like that might. So yeah, this is. This one for more for oil control, oil regulation, all of that. The final one is this one here, and you'll see it is of course a bigger bottle.
This is the Botanical Hydration Mist with Immortelle, and it's part of the wild alchemy collection. This one, instead of starting with an aloe vera juice, it starts with a blend of two hydrosols. So we've got Immortelle and we've got Rose hydrosols. And if you aren't familiar with a hydrosol, what a hydrosol is, is it's essentially this like, watery runoff that happens when you create an oil via steam distillation. And so the consistency of a hydrosol is, it's, You know, it's got a thin aqueousness to it, but it also has this nice slippery, almost a buttery feel you get enough of that kind of oil carried into it that you've got a good amount of not just hydration, but also moisture. So it's feeding the fatty layer of the skin too. So this one is Awesome for dry skin. This is awesome for lions, especially when you're seeing lions as a result of skin kind of drying out a little bit. And this is also a really good one for sensitive skin. This blend includes four different types of chamomile and frankincense. And so we really wanted this product to be great for skin that gets irritated, that gets you know, uncomfortable, tight. Actually, we went camping this past weekend and my youngest got a little bit of a burn on his neck. And so I had some of this with me. It was just misting his sunburn just to help take some of the sting and the discomfort out. And so it's a really good one for anyone who experiences you know, extreme sensitivity, perhaps if you have temporary redness, flare ups with temporary redness, things like that, this is a great one to have on hand.
My teammate who's usually on this call with me, she usually has some redness and she talks all the time about how this is like her go to, like, if she had to get rid of any other products or all, you know, she could only choose one, this would be the one that she probably stuck with just because it's so quick for her. And then with it being a hydrosol, it's that much more slippery, buttery and then the hydrosols that we chose for that are also really intentional. So we've chosen Rose and Immortelle, and both of those are really potent anti agers. Immortelle is also known as helichrysum and it's kind of got this legend of being this flower of immortality, which is where the immortal comes in. So both of those are potent anti agers. We definitely recommend using either of those. So. There, there are the toning mists. Now, how you use them you've cleansed your skin, you've rinsed your skin, pat it dry, all of that, and then you mist it onto the face. So, it has a little mister, you mist it onto your skin, you don't need to put it into a cotton round, you don't need to open it and like, You know, put it on anything you just missed. And then it stays on the skin. So you don't miss and then wipe off. It stays on the face. No, you can decide whether from here you are leaving it on the skin and letting skin stay a little bit damp. While you apply your serum and your oil, that's actually my preferred method, but you also can let skin dry and apply your serum and your oil from there. So I usually recommend trying both and seeing what feels better. Leaving skin a little bit damp is a good tip that I'll put out there if somebody feels like the oils are not absorbing. So for whatever reason they're sitting on the surface of the skin, you feel like you feel really greasy and it's, Your skin also feels tight, like any of that, then I recommend for sure, leave skin damp, let skin stay damp and then apply your serum and your oil while it's damp. But yeah, dance with it, see what feels best and go from there.
So any questions about the toning ness before we get into serums?
Customer: Can you tell me which one your daughter liked for the temporary redness?
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: I don't have a daughter, but I, when I'm working with customers who have temporary redness, this is the one that they like on here.
Customer: What was the name of it again?
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, the Botanical Hydration Mist with Immortelle. Okay.
Yes. Question in the chat. Do I feel toning is necessary? So, I do with my routine. I definitely have customers who will leave it out, but I'll tell you why I really like it. So, when I started using the line, I actually used this line before I worked here, because the spa I worked at, we brought it on. We started to carry it.
And I was super confused at first because oil as a moisturizer was such a trip. It was like, just did, it just felt super weird. And so for a long time, what I experienced was like my skin feeling really shiny and oily, but not really feeling like it was getting into the skin. And I had this, you know, I've mentioned it to the COO and a meeting at one point and she's like, Oh, do it this way, mix the skin and leave skin damp. And that totally changed the game for me because at first I was kind of like, you know, I don't know how long I can stay here in good integrity because I just don't feel like the products are working for me. And then leaving skin damp and allowing skin to stay damp. While I applied my serum and while I applied my tone or my oil, it just absolutely changed the game for me. I feel like since then my skin has looked fuller, brighter, healthier. I, I think the toning is also like, if you're wanting any kind of midday pick me up, these are great. No, you can use just water. So, you know, if I'm working with somebody who's on a really limited budget, I know that our products have high price points and so maybe they're starting with some and wanting to invest in some later.
I'll even go so far as to say like leaves. I'm going to be talking about how to get your skin damp with water and apply the serum and the oil will make your skin damp with water. It doesn't work for everyone. And so I'll call that out there. But for the grand majority of customers that I work with, if they're dealing with any issue with the oil absorption, that's a big game changer for them. I also, my skin can kind of vary. It tends to be on the drier side. Sometimes it's normal, but it can definitely be sensitive. And so having this particular one in my routine is super helpful. So helpful for keeping my cheeks, like not so red all the time. You can tell like we were out in the sun this weekend and I use my sun love, but even just the heat from it, I feel like my cheeks still feel tender from being out there.
And so for me, I do find that it's necessary for my routine, but you know, if you're needing to slim it down, that would probably be one that would be okay to leave out.
Yeah, I would say that would be one that it's okay to leave out. So, yeah.
Yeah. Diane.
Customer: I actually have a 19 year old who I purchased the Rosemary Toning Mist for because she has some issues, a little bit of oily skin or clogged pores.. We know it's a little gut related to right now or detox, but she's so sensitive. She has bleach white skin. Thank you. Yeah, like her mom yeah, so in white, the most minimal of oils make her just. Her follicular kind of property just becomes even more intensely oily. Yeah. You still recommend that, this one, the hydration, or the botanical hydration mist, or just stay with rosemary?
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: I would, if she's not having any complication or temporary redness with the rosemary, I would probably stay with the rosemary. Yeah, they are just the way of the hydrosols. It's still very light. Like when you miss it, it feels like water. It's got a little bit more slip to it. But if anything would, you know, push her into an oilier place than that.
I mean, that is the most moisturizing of all of them. So I probably wouldn't shift her. Okay, that one, unless she was irritated with the rosemary and then maybe it would work. But no, I'd stick with the rosemary. Okay.
Customer: Thank you.
Speaker 5: Yeah, perfect. Let's chat. Any other questions about the tournament?
Okay, cool. Let's get into serums. Let's get into serums.
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: I was at this point, I'm like, are we going to talk about all of them? And then we usually do. So we have three serums as part of the signature collection and then three that are part of the wild alchemy collection and they're all so different. The serum step in your routine is usually your most targeted you know, in terms of addressing something, the serums all start with an olive air juice base. And so they've got this nice thinness to them. We do have some that are richer and more moisturizing and I'll speak to those as we come to them, but otherwise they have this nice thin feel. And so what we've done is we've suspended in we, we've. So we're going to add a little bit of citrus juice. Deep into the aloe vera juice, whatever herbs or plants or seeds we are wanting to use to address. Signs of aging nine times out of 10 is what we're working on with these these products And so they're different than the oils the oils are also addressing signs of aging But the serums are working a little bit deeper in the skin because they've got this thinner consistency because they're typically, you know, the first Step on the skin after the toning mist they're right close to the skin and they seep into the skin They're, they're working a little bit lower. So we've got ingredients like stem cells. We've got ingredients like skin brighteners, uva, ursi, licorice root, hyaluronic acid, all of that is designed to be working on the deeper layers of the skin. So over time, you're seeing this showing up on the surface of the skin with your natural skin cycle. The oils. And we'll speak to those next, but the oils are working with the upper layers of the skin, so they're kind of providing this nutrition and strength to the upper layers of the skin in a different way. So when you're working to really address signs of aging, I really recommend the serums. Sometimes people will ask if they can leave one or the other out, and they're just so different, the serum and the oil, that I don't know what I would say to leave out. I feel like If you had to leave one out, I think that you need the moisture more than you need the treatment so the oil, but I think you're totally losing out on a lot of potential skin changes leaving the serums out.
So yeah, anyway. I'll start with this one. This is the Anti-Aging Serum, and it is a very classic serum. We have a high purchase rate with this one, but a high repurchase rate, which is why we launched the larger size here. This is 30 milliliters. This one's a 15 milliliter size, and I'll show you the consistency of this one.
It's got a nice kind of thin body so it runs down my hand. Super, super soft. The anti aging serum. Oh, and just to call it the color, I already kind of rubbed it in, but with all of our products, color variation is normal because we use small, we make small batches. We work with small farmers. It's kind of like grapes with wine year over year.
Like, Oh, what did, what, did the vineyard produce this year and so color variation from anywhere from clear to a little bit like coppery orange is supernormal. What we usually look for if somebody's like oh is it rancid is like smell and consistency over the color change because the color can change from the anti-aging serum.
This one again starts with an aloe vera juice base. A big key ingredient in this one is hyaluronic acid and hyaluronic acid is a quick boost to the skin. It provides a very lifted look with very little time. Usually within the first week, you'll notice a plumper look to the skin. Sometimes it's sooner, sometimes it's like overnight just because of the way hyaluronic acid works. But I feel like that is a Big point that I attribute a lot of the popularity for this product because you notice a difference so quickly with that hyaluronic acid. The rest of this formulation is a large amount of florals. So we've got rose, we've got idol wise, we've got life everlasting, and all of these are working to strengthen the skin to stave off the appearance of fine lines. So when you initially use them, you get this nice plumped feel with the hyaluronic acid in here, and then over time you're seeing this nice like kind of smooth and strengthened look with the floral blend that's in this one. It's great for pretty much any skin type. Sensitive can use it, normal can use it, dry can use it.
hyaluronic acid, which isn't a potential comedogenic product. Hyaluronic acid doesn't usually impact pores in any way, but it might provide more hydration than you need. And so it just might not be necessary for your skin type. But for early signs of aging, especially the anti aging one is a really good one to have around or even more pronounced signs of aging. I've just got other serums that are a little bit more focused on different aging concerns. This is a good example.
So this is our Citrus Stem Cell Serum. And the consistency of this one is more or less the same as the anti aging, so I'm not going to pump this one here. This is a really good one for textured skin and for evening out skin tone..
The kind of two powerhouses of this one the plant derived stem cells. So all of our stem cells are going to be plant derived. The plant will vary, but this is a citrus peel, orange peel derived from stem cells. What they do is they separate Sit on the skin as they absorb into the skin, they kind of sit next to your existing skin cells. And then as these move up to the surface, they flatten out and become the visible skin. Essentially your skin mimics the behavior of the plant stem cell. And so this is really helpful for drooping skin. If you're noticing sagging or drooping in the face.
Incorporating some amount of stem cells in your routine is super important. And so that's one area of it. The other side of it is it's got this beautiful bevy of skin brighteners. We have uva, ursi, licorice root, and amla berry. And all of these are what's called tyrosinase inhibitors. And I'll try not to spend too long on like what those are, but they essentially work on darkened melanin. As opposed to vitamin C which can brighten the overall complexion of the skin, uva, ursi, licorice root, and amla berry are very potently addressing a darkened spot on the face. And so that could be something like a sun spot from sun damage. Could be scar tissue or something like that. Anything that's been like a direct irritant that has caused this darkened area, these are helpful for now, the way they work is kind of similar to stem cells and that they, they sit on this melon and they seek out the melon and then they, like, build up on top of it and then they essentially inhibit this. So they kind of tell the melanin to go back to stem cells. So you get this fading effect that happens, and this is also really nice in conjunction with regular exfoliation, whether you're using the night serum, which I'll speak to soon, or like a scrub or something like that. All of that super, super helpful for or post acne hyperpigmentation, any of that. Using this in conjunction with something that's also sloughing the skin is ideal. But because of the way the stem cells work and the skin brighteners, they sit into lower layers and then come up, it can take several weeks for you to notice a difference with this product.
It does have a little bit of hyaluronic acid. It's not as much as the anti-aging serum, but it does have some. And so there is a little bit of a plumpness that comes from it. But as far as brightening the skin, it's super normal for this to take a month to three months for you to really notice the difference. It can depend on how deep in the skin that sun damage is. It can depend on what else you're using in your routine, all of that. But usually at least three to four weeks. And I usually say three to four weeks for you to notice the difference and anywhere from four to eight weeks for like, Someone else like a coworker or somebody who doesn't see you in close proximity all the time for them to notice the difference. So. Little bit of a commitment with this citrus stem cell here now this next one
This is our Probiotic Serum with Tremella. And again, the consistency of this one is pretty similar to the anti aging This one is a really really nice one for any issue where the skin is kind of thrown off Any issue where the skin is sensitive whether that's regular clogged pores whether that is temporary redness contact dermatitis it could even just be like a temporary issue, like you had a surgery or started a new medication and the skin's super, super dry and parched.
The probiotic serum is awesome to have in your routine for that. This one includes both an olive leaf ferment and then this probiotic complex. And so what it's doing is essentially feeding and nourishing the good bacteria of the face to help to bring skin back into this like balanced place. So this is a really awesome one for temporary redness flare ups.
It's a really awesome one for clogged pores prone skin. I used to have A lot more clogged pores than I do these days. And this was my go to all the time. It's also super, super gentle. This whole blend is very, very gentle. And so it's also super helpful for sensitive skin. We use in this one, the tremella mushroom. The tremella mushroom is a hydrator that functions similarly to hyaluronic acid just like a little bit different. So you get this also big like flumping with the skin, a lot of hydration with the tremella mushroom as well. I do like to call out this one because of the tremella mushroom, the scent is the weirdest. It's Got a good amount of like kind of florals in it too, but it's not straight mushrooms, but it does have a little bit of this earthier smell to it. So if you know, you know, you know yourself and you're like, Oh, I just hate mushrooms or hate the mushroom smell. Then this might not be your favorite product. It has a little bit of that scent profile to it. If you aren't put off by that, it's pretty mild steel, but it is, it is definitely there. Yeah, it definitely has a little bit of a, like, mushroomy funk to it. So, that's that one. Now, the next three, those three were the signatures.
These next three are the wild alchemy. So, this one, this is the Wild Fruit Serum.
This is another really, really popular one. We're actually preparing to launch this one in a larger size as well, because we see that this has a high, high purchase rate. This is often one that we'll go to if you're addressing multiple signs of aging, because this is a pretty broad sweep in terms of addressing different areas. It has a lot of hyaluronic acid, so great for plumping the skin, great for the appearance of fine lines. This one does have uva ursi in it, so helpful for the appearance of dark spots. This is the same uva ursi that's in the citrus stem cell. This also has stem cells in it. Again, a citrus derived stem cell in this one here. That's the stem cells. So two different types of stem cells. And then we also have kakadu plum in this one. That's unique to this one. That's a super vitamin C rich product. And so you get this kind of overall brightening to the skin. Kakadu plum is really good for overall tone and texture. So I know a couple of people have mentioned dull skin or uneven skin. This is a really, really good one for. What else about this one? It smells pretty fruity. It's got a nice tropical scent profile to it. Yeah, this is often one that if somebody's used the anti aging for a while, they're ready for what's next in terms of addressing signs of aging. This is typically where we point them. I work with a lot of customers who this is the only product they purchase from us. They use their cleanser for someone else. They use whatever moisturizer from somewhere else, but they use the Wild Fruit Serum. That's the one that they have subscribed to and reinvest in and all of that. So this is a good one for signs of aging.
The next one, this one here, This is the Activated CBD Serum. Sorry, activated night is next. This is our activated CBD serum and I will show you the consistency of this one because it's so full. You can see it doesn't really run down my hand. It's just this nice bubble body. This is a really creamy-like consistency as far as the serum goes. This one, because it has the CBD, CBD is a really interesting ingredient as far as skin support because CBD works with your body, works with your own endocannabinoid system, and it essentially acts as a triage addressing anything that's starting to break down. And so as the skin cell turnover slows down, as your collagen production starts to break down, incorporating CBD, whether topically, internally, a combination of both, is a really great way to help kind of maintain the strength and body, this like bounce to the skin. And that was one of the reasons we really wanted to offer that. The CBD that we've chosen, we use Ojai Energetics, and we do use two forms. Ojai Energetics is a great source because they're like the market lead. As far as CBD, they like to have 12 patents. I think as far as CBD extraction and then also how they encapsulate it. So it's bioavailable. Oh, hi. Energetics actually put them in the chat if you wanted to Google it because they also have supplements. Ojai Energetics there's supplements and they have, like coconut oil that you can use for your body or cooking or all of that. So they have other CBD options, but, and then of course they carry this product as well. But we use the two forms. So we've got our water soluble and our fat soluble. This water soluble is a quick absorption. So this is absorbed really quickly into the skin. The fat soluble is this slow kind of a cumulative over time absorption that you get with the CBD and so you get this very immediate effect from it and then you get this kind of you stacked up over time effect with it as well. And the CBD is awesome, but even aside from the CBD. The blend that we've created with this. We were kind of topped here in terms of signs of aging, like active ingredients. We've got black cumin seed oil. We've got blue tansy in here. We went with both hydrators so hyaluronic acid and tremella mushroom. You don't smell the mushroom in this one. This one is a small enough amount that it doesn't have that mushroomy scent. But the end result is this very. Oh, it feels very rich. And so this is great for dry skin, great for aging skin. This is also amazing for skin that gets really irritated or dry with the CBD. This is super helpful for, like, temporary redness flare ups. You know, I would say it's pretty comparable to probiotics.
It's just working in a different way. Or skin that's thrown off in whatever way. If you've had recent surgery or You're you've been out in the sun a time. I've been using this one this week so far. This is a really good one. Now a couple things to call out with this one. As you shop the site, when you go to the serums page, you'll see this product, but it'll say it's sold out.
It's not sold out. If you click through to the link, it'll take you to a different site. And that's intentional, that's just the way we can legally sell a CBD skincare product in the U. S. And if you are joining us from Canada or somewhere internationally, unfortunately, I can't get this to you, I can't send this to you I have several customers who found a workaround where they like mail it to a friend and then make it, it makes its way up there, but I can't, we don't, we aren't able to legally ship that over the border at this point in time, so maybe it'll change, but Anyway, that's the serum.
Now, our final serum is this one and this is a newer one. So I'm super excited about this one. This is our Activated Night Serum. And if you get our emails, you may have seen us send some blasts out recently because we're really excited to be able to offer this. This one's key ingredient is what's called our bioactive A complex, and it's an algae derivative, it's not a vitamin A derivative. And we launched this, we actually launched it first as a booster. We have a set of boosting elixirs here, and the, the final one, the, the, The revitalize the concentrated amount of the bioactive a, but when we were preparing to launch this, our COO At the time was pregnant. And so we really were having kind of more esoteric conversations around, like, well, why would you ever put something on your body that you could only put on at certain points? Like, like a retinol, because this is a retinol alternative and so we knew we weren't going to do a retinol. We looked into different retinol variations, but we also weren't finding anything that actually felt clean enough. And so we came across this one, the Bioactive A, and we were able to get it made safe approved.
So made safe said this is a clean ingredient, a safe ingredient for your body, safe ingredient for the planet. And so that's the ingredient that we went with. And it's super interesting because it still gives you that very lifted, very taut, very smoothed feel that a retinol does. It is still an exfoliant but it's working kind of synergistically with the body versus retinol, which is designed to kind of prevent that. Break it down. I mean, it's that's what it does is it like breaks down the glue that holds skin cells together So retinol will give you this very quick quick Smooth lifted effect if you have clogged pores, it will smooth out clogged pores, but the overtime cost is pretty intense It just really depletes skin.
And so this one is a really cool alternative because it's working to support skin. It does still exfoliate the skin. And so that's why we have this as a night product. We want this to be worn overnight. It also is in this really beautiful blend. The consistency is pretty similar to the CBD because even though it's exfoliating the skin, we wanted it to immediately provide this nourished feel. So I never wake up and feel leaky or tight or irritated because my skin's kind of normal, dry, sometimes sensitive. I can't wear this every night. It's effective and intense enough that I can usually get about three nights and then I'll take a couple nights off. It's just kind of I can tell my cheeks get a little bit red with this one, but I do have customers who wear it nightly. They really wish they could wear it during the day, but they'll ask. And it's like, I mean, technically you can, but any sun exposure and you're kind of undoing what you're trying to do. So, you know, you're locked indoors, maybe, but otherwise just keep it at night. It's great at night. But, yeah, we do recommend that you wear your Sun Love if you're going out in the morning at all with this, what else with this,
That's probably it. Nice full feel to it. I've been taking a couple nights off because I went camping last weekend and I took some time off before because I didn't want my skin to be extra sun prone and also taking a few days after because just my skin's super dry being out in the heat. So these are, yeah, these are the serums.
Of course, the activated night serum. You do typically have an alternative serum. So you would have this one at night and then another one in the morning, but this is also a helpful one for clogged pores and can be helpful for Amelia and to speak to milia real briefly here, milia, what milia is, is, is it often happens on the forehead, sometimes around the eyes, is it's this like buildup of skin cells, but it's happening outside of a pore, and so what happens is these skin cells kind of stack, and then skin continues to grow over it. And so there isn't a way, like with a pore, oftentimes you can kind of extract it, a little bit of pressure, you know, take care of your skin, do it the right way and all that, but you can extract a buildup. With amelia, there isn't, it's, you can't necessarily press and lift it like you might with something else.
And so what that will require is some consistent exfoliation still working, you know, you don't want to go too hard, too fast because you'll, Deplete the rest of your skin, but still work in such a way that skins tended to. It could be deep enough in the skin that you might need to see a professional, and depending on your region, estheticians might be able to help. Once you extract a milia, it's gone. It's not happening on the skin again and why the milia happened. There's a million reasons. So I would, I don't feel like I could necessarily say what it would be is often more common as you age, just because that skin cell turnover slows down. And so staying on top of it with something like a regular exfoliant. The Kaolin Micro Exfoliant tried and true. This is our kaolin micro exfoliant. It is pretty textured though. So if you're sensitive, we have another option called our Ayurvedic facial scrub. But really just staying on top of the skin, keeping skin nice and smooth. All of that is ideal. So anyway, just wanted to bring that topic back up and mentioned that the activated night serum can be helpful in that process and keeping skin exfoliated and helping to move that along.
So let's pause here. And see if there are questions.
I do see one in the chat that says, do you have to cleanse before the evening serum?
Ooh, that's a really good question. And so I'll kind of rephrase it. How I'm understanding it is, do you have to cleanse both morning and evening? And the answer to that is not necessarily. Typically, if you're going to. Skip one though. I would skip the morning one. And so some professionals will recommend, especially when your skin is starting to really slow down or you're seeing more advanced signs of aging that you just kind of splash water in the morning. And I think that's perfectly fine. I know for myself, especially when times are really busy, I've got two kids. And so there are a lot of mornings that I do just put on my sun love. And we go and we just go out the door but because when you're moving throughout the day, you're, you're taking up a lot and you're releasing a lot, especially as it's getting warmer out. So if you are skipping one cleanse, I would skip the morning and do the evening cleanse. So I'd still do it before your PM serum. And yes, especially before the activated night serum, because you do really want to have skin as prepared as possible, so that it really absorbs nice and evenly there.
Let's see another question. What would you recommend for makeup removal before cleansing? Do you have anything that can help with dark under eye circles?
Ooh, yeah. So makeup remover before cleansing. But the most ideal one is the restorative cleansing oil, but if you're wanting to even do one before you cleanse the skin I never know whether I'm supposed to recommend this but I use the herbal facial oil for sensitive skin for eye makeup and it's, this is a really super, super simple blend.
It's a grapeseed oil with these like soothing herbs. There aren't even any essential oils in this. And so it's really, really mild. And also breaks down like the heavier eye makeup really, really nicely. Sometimes I'll carry it onto the face, but I don't feel like it's necessarily better than the restorative cleansing oil for the face.
It might be a lower price point. Not significantly, but it is a lower, a little bit of a lower price point. So you could technically put this on the face. to break down makeup. But one of those I think would be great for recommending or for removing makeup. Sometimes people will use it like a plain coconut or a plain grapeseed oil.
Those are options too. Depending on the type of makeup that you're using, really just anything that's nice and rich will help to kind of break it up, which is why I recommend applying it and letting it sit on the skin for a few minutes. Usually with makeup upwards of. 3 to 5, like, let it really break that down.
And then coming in and rinsing it or, you know, if it's the restorative cleansing oil, rinsing it, if it's something else, using an actual cleanser to remove that is ideal. So, yeah, and then anything that can help with under eye circles. So we do have 2 eye products. Yeah, 1, 2, 3. These two. And this smaller one, this is called our Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum. And the consistency and use is pretty, you know, aligned with being a serum. It's pretty focused on lines around the eyes. It's a ceramide and peptide blend. The scent of this smells a lot like the pineapple ceramides. But it's not necessarily addressing puffiness or darkness. Eye cream Is what I would recommend for those concerns. So just to recap the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum great for deeper lines fissures This is also good for lines on the lip it's an eye eye product, but it's essentially just for really thin skin So if you are someone who has like creases along the lip, this is super helpful but the Anti-Aging Eye Cream, This one here, it's got this nice kind of rich feel to it. This would be your last step before your sunscreen. So it does wear over the oil. I've tried both and I feel like when I put it, what, yeah, when I put it under the oil, the oil just doesn't really absorb quite nicely here. And so I do like this over the oil. But this has. It has CoQ10, it has Cucumber Distillate, both of these are helpful for strengthening that under eye area and de-puffing the under eye area. And it has an herb, and I don't recall off the top of my head which plant that is, but it, that plant has a good amount of Vitamin K. And Vitamin K can be helpful for darkness under the eye, because what Vitamin K does, you know, is similar to the stem cells in urersy, it takes a little bit of time, but it can help strengthen capillary walls. A lot of times the darkness that you see under the eyes is like this, this thinning of the capillaries under the eyes. So it's not necessarily like pigmentation. It doesn't really interact the same way. So a topical that can help to strengthen that capillary wall can help to decrease the look of the darkness under, under the eyes. Darkness under the eyes is also one of those really interesting ones that can exist for a lot of reasons. It can, of course, be age and just that, that Capillary wall thinning. It could be a high amount of sodium or salt in your diet. It could be not enough sleep, which I know everyone loves to hear because if you're not, everyone wants enough sleep.
If you're not getting it, you're kind of like, this is just where it's at. But getting more sleep is also something that's really helpful. So all of those, you know, the eye cream's great, but the whole integrative system to help with under eye puffiness is good too. Can you mix the eye products? So, I wouldn't recommend mixing them together, but you can use them in the same routine. And to do that, I would recommend doing your eye serum right after you, Tone. So it's like right against the skin in that area. It's technically a 360 product, but I tend to focus it just on the areas that I notice lines. So I'll do it here. And then the eye cream will be your final one after your oil. Okay. Thank you. So you've done the rest of your team after your oil. And for both of these, you don't need very much at all. Like it's like half a P if that. And I usually will pump it onto my ring finger, just kind of pat them together and then powder on the eye area.
If you have to choose one, right. Because it's another common question. It's like, okay. And I only choose one. I would still do the eye cream. It addresses a broader range of eye concerns. Eye serum is great. If your biggest focus is like. the appearance of fine lines are in the eyes, but if you've got multiple, then I would do the eye cream.
The eye cream is also helpful for the appearance of fine lines and deeper creases too.
And you can use the anti-aging serum around your eye. And then you. Cream as the last step as well. You can,
I think that the serums don't absorb as well around the eye area as they do the rest of the face. If you're wanting to boost this though, so I mentioned earlier, we have this set of concentrated boosting elixirs.
And for the sake of time, I'm not going to get into each of them, but one of them is called Hydrate. And that's a A really clean blend of hyaluronic acid and peptides. So you've got this burst of like plumping and then this skin strengthening. And I love doing like, I mean with the amount, it's about a drop. So about one drop. And then the Into the I cream, I usually will do it like here, like a little tiny pump and then that and doing that together. So if you're wanting to boost it, or like, you know, you're not, you don't want to invest in the serum, but you want another product to help it. The hydrate is really good and we do actually have the hydrate sold on its own.
In this bottle here and it's, it's the same product. So doing that is great. Yes, okay. Any other questions about the serums before we get into it. Oils, oils. Actually. Okay. Yeah. Let's see. Are there questions at this point? Cool.
So let's get into oils and then we'll see what questions we have about anything. Primarily two oils. I'll mention this group here. The first one is the Anti-Aging Facial Oil and to back it up even further. Yes, we do use facial oil as our moisturizer. To offer a little sneak peek, we are working on a cream that we're expecting to launch at the end of this year, but up to date so far we've only used oils, which we do quite like. Oils are, especially the types that we use, they're pretty bio-recognizable, and so if you are somebody who's really parched or just really struggles to find something that works for your skin, an oil, your body already kind of knows what to do with it. Another cool thing about the oils is You generally have this very like dewy plumped up look to the skin using facial oil as your moisturizer. So even if you are still seeing some lines, there's also this beautiful radiance that comes from the oils here. So this one, the anti aging facial oil is super Super tried and true. I do often say that the wild alchemy is like, oh, a step above in terms of addressing signs of aging, but this one is quite different.
This is the richest one that we have by far. And so if dry skin, dull skin, textured skin, all of that is your concern, then this is probably going to be what you go with. There's a chance the next one I mentioned, but this one for dry skin especially, this is the go to. The blend of this, we have our oil, we start with a jojoba oil with this one, and then we steep into it herbs or plants or seeds. This has a lot of skin strengthening, so we've got broccoli seed, we've got chia seed, what else is in that one, plantago these are very kind of nourishing like and again, really full full feel to it. The next one is part of the wild alchemy collection.
This one here is the Rejuvenating Facial Oil.
And this is really top tier in terms of very pointedly addressing signs of aging. So it is a little bit thinner than the anti aging. So if dryness is your concern. Go with that one. If your skin is like, you know, maybe normal, normal to dry, and you can handle this, go with this one. We formulated this one entirely differently. So all of the other ones start with this very rich oil, we steep the herbs into it, it gets strained, it gets bottled, all of that. We still did some steeping with this one, but then what we did was we added active ingredients directly into the blend just to really up the level of activity with this particular product.
Because of that, if you are someone who's super sensitive, it may not be the best fit for you because it is a pretty intense product. But otherwise the blend of this is bar none as far as Softening the skin. Mongongo seed oil is one of the ingredients, and that is incredible in terms of softening the skin. Butterfly pea flower, blue tansy, black cumin seed oil, all of these have been added directly into this blend to give that very, very soft, Softened lifted look to the skin. It is still in jojoba oil. Jojoba oil is great for dry skin. It mimics your skin's natural oil really closely. So I do really, really love, I love this one quite a bit. It's a higher price point but it is worth every penny. But some things I can recommend to kind of and the reason why I kind of extended a little bit is that if you are investing in this one, you might invest in a lower price point, something like this one that's like 45 and you can dilute it a little bit, but you'll, you know, half a pump of one half a pump of the other, maybe a full pump, you really don't need too much of it to get a little bit more life out of this or to use one in the morning and one in the evening and focus this one. This would be my evening 1 if that's the route that you're going just to get a little bit more time with it there and then 1 more product. And then we'll, we'll pause and see what questions we have.
This one, this is our Sun Love everyday sheer sunscreen. I love this product. I have several of these around the house and like in my bag, even in the winter time. But I think that's the esthetician in me is just like constantly protecting my skin. The blend of this one, we do use zinc oxide. We use a non nano zinc oxide in here, so there's no risk of this crossing into the bloodstream through the skin. The look and the feel of this is really quite nice on the skin. We went with an SPF 20, and a lot of times people are like, oh, why not a 30? Why not a 50? The difference between an SPF 30 and a 50 and all of that is Super, super small, actually. So, an SPF 20 will block 95 percent of UV rays. When you get up to an SPF 30, it's 90, I think it's 97, 97 or 98, and then an SPF 50 is 98, 99. Anything over SPF 50, they're taking your money, in my opinion, because you aren't really seeing that much of a difference as far as how much UV is being blocked. And so, When we were making this blend, we wanted a product that you could wear every day. But zinc oxide has such a reputation for being, like, really thick and chalky and gloppy.
And so we went with a little bit of a lower SPF, still trusting that we're blocking 95 percent of UV rays. Also giving us this very beautiful finish. So we actually did call this the everyday sheer sunscreen because once you apply it, it is a little white initially, but it shears out really quickly. And then you don't look like, you know, super white Caspery, like it really evens out and makes it great for daily wear. Also makes it great for under makeup. If you're a makeup wearer because it isn't super like white chalky that can really throw off. Especially like mineral powders that can throw it off.
But the blend of this is also quite rich too. We've got broody fruit oil, pumpkin seed oil. And so if you are someone who is normal, normal to dry, a lot of times you can get away with using this as your morning moisturizer and then having an oil that you use in the evenings. Now, not every skin type can handle that, especially drier skin types will still want the moisturizer and then the sunscreen, the sun love. But my skin type again, normal, normal to dry in the summertime. I can do that pretty much every day. I can do my normal routine and use this as my moisturizer. And it's great. In the winter time, my skin is just too dry. So. I guess it can vary with seasons also there. So with that, let's pause and see what questions have come up about oils, but anything, any other products, we've got lip products, masks, a ton of hair products, all that.
Customer: Yeah, I actually have a question regarding the rest of the body. I'm pushing 60 and I have extremely dry skin. I'm a sun worshiper, have been my whole life. I'm just in the sun a lot. Spend a lot of time on the beach over the summer. We perch or I purchased coconut body oil. I love it and I love the scent, love the aroma, but it almost doesn't penetrate. It doesn't soothe in the skin enough. It almost kind of stays surfacy. Is that normal?
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So I've got a really good tip for you with that one.
Customer: Okay.
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So similar to the toning mist, what I like to do with the coconut body oil is I actually keep it in the shower. And then as soon as I turn my shower off before I've dried any water off, I do several pumps of that over my body. And that is a night and day difference for helping that to absorb into the skin. And so try to definitely be mindful to not put it on the bottoms of your feet and not spill it in your shower. Cause I don't want you to flip and fall, but otherwise put it on and then come out and then just pat off whatever water's left and that's, that's a great shift. For helping that absorb. Another thing is it might not be the best product for you. And so another one that we have that I don't think I have on my desk actually is our radiant skin silk. The radiant skin silk is more of a lotion consistency than an oil. And so it's. not necessarily richer. You can layer them is another way to really like to get it, like build it up. But the radiant skin silk absorbs really quickly. And so that's a really nice one for certain people in the summer. Also a really great one for hands because you don't have to just like, you know, hang out while the oil absorbs into your hands. The radiant skin silk absorbs really quickly. The radiant skin silk is also good for skin that's kind of dehydrated dry, which is really common after a lot of sun exposure where you just feel like you're really crepey. The radiant skin Silk can be super helpful for that. I have noticed that with my arms, just like.
You know, I, I'm probably older than you guess and I definitely started to see creepiness in my arms and skin and then being out in the sun all weekend was just like, Oh, so much more. So I've been putting a lot of it on since I've been home this week. So that might be another one that works, works a little bit better for your skin type.
But since you've got the coconut body oil, try it in the shower and see if that doesn't make a difference.
Customer: I will. Thank you.
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, perfect. What other questions? You can also put them in the chat if you do have some. Maybe nothing. You can never tell if the group is shy or if I'm very thorough with the information. I see Daniel's being very thorough. Well, cool. Okay, well if there aren't other questions, you're free to hop off. We're closing out a little bit early, but that's fine with me.
