Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So let's jump into the product line. The basic routine that we recommend for everybody, just like a general routine that you would do morning and evening is a four step routine that consists of cleansing, toning, using serum, and then a moisturizer, which as of now, all of our facial moisturizers are oils. I like to tell people I think it's best to really just kind of customize as much as possible. So just kind of finding what works best for your skin, what works best for your lifestyle. Maybe right now you're somebody who has no routine, and so you're probably not going to jump into like a six step routine that takes you 30 minutes morning and evening and that's totally fine. I would say the most basic routine that you want to have, the most pared down routine that you would want to have is a cleanser and a facial oil. And then you could always add and build from there. So whether your routine is 10 steps or two steps, you're going to start with cleansing. So we will start with cleansers.
We have four different cleansers in our line. Cleansing just is going to remove makeup and impurities. A thorough cleanse is going to prep the skin so that it can better absorb the treatment products that you're applying afterwards. All of our cleansers are pH balanced, which is important. You want to choose a pH balanced cleanser. This is going to ensure that you're not drying out your skin. You're not disrupting your skin's natural protective barrier, your acid mantle, your skin's pH is a 4. 5 to a 5. 5 on the pH scale. All of our cleansers are 5. 5 to a 5. 6, which is actually printed on our packaging. We don't use any harsh surfactants in our cleansers. A lot of times, you know, you'll find things like lauryl sulfates that can be more alkaline. So we use a sodium lauryl glucose carboxylate. That's the surfactant that we use. And it's a safe low foaming option. It sounds very fancy, but it's really just saponified oils and plant starches and sugars.
And before we even jump into each of the cleansers, I will touch on collections really quickly. So within our line, we have a few different collections. The two main collections that we have are the Signature Collection. All of the Signature Collection products have this tan labeling. And then we have our Wild Alchemy Collection. The Wild Alchemy Collection, all of these products have the black and gold labeling. And the difference is, the Signature Collection, a lot of these products are products that have been around since we got started. A lot of them are some of our best selling products. And then the Wild Alchemy Collection, that's our luxury line. And what makes it our luxury line is just that the products in this collection contain higher levels of activated ingredients. So things like our bioActive A-Complex. And our pure vitamin C, our THDA. They also contain more exotic ingredients—things like mongongo oil and baobab oil. And then also the crafting process. The way that they're made is usually a little bit more laborious than with the Signature Collection products.
And then we also have two smaller collections, which sometimes I don't mention, but I will just mention them quickly. We have the Essentials Collection, which has just two products in it. It's the Renew Facial Cream Cleanser and the Radiate Oil. This collection is actually offered at a lower price point than any of our other products and the reason for that is just that these two products don't contain our herb infusions. So they're just really simple formulas and again that crafting process, the way that they're made is more simple, but they can be great products and Grace and I both really like the Radiate Oil, so I do like to mention it. And we'll get into it later, but Grace is our sensitive skin poster child here at Annmarie Skin Care.
Then also, another little collection that we have is our Estate Blend Collection, which right now, the only product in the Estate Blend Collection is the Divine Woman Elixir, which was just launched yesterday and I'm obsessed with it. So the products in this collection are made with herbs and ingredients that are grown on Moss Creek Farm, which is Kevin and Annmarie's property. So they are growing the herbs that are in here themselves. So that's kind of what's unique about this collection. And like I said, right now the only product in the collection is the Divine Woman Facial Oil. And it’s lovely.
But anyways, back to cleansers. So the one that we're going to start with is the Aloe Herb Cleanser. This one is in the Signature Collection. This one is great for all skin types. This is our best selling cleanser. People love this one. If you've ever gotten one of our starter kits or our trial kits, you've probably tried it. A lot of times if people are feeling confused or overwhelmed or don't know where to start, I'll tell them to start with the Aloe Herb Cleanser because you just can't really go wrong with it. It's a nourishing cream cleanser. Like I said, it's great for all skin types. It's an aloe vera base, of course. Aloe is rich in vitamins and minerals and phytonutrients and enzymes. Aloe also contains some naturally occurring saponins that act as mild cleansing agents on the skin. This one also has calendula in it, which provides a calming sensation and is great for sensitive skin types. This one has some lemon essential oil in it, so it is purifying and brightening as well. It also gives it its scent profile—one of our affiliates once said that this cleanser smells like a lemon starburst, which I always love. What else? I feel like I'm forgetting something. Oh, coconut oil. There's some coconut oil in here too. And that just kind of contributes to that creamy texture.
Was there a question?
Customer: Yes. I got that. The Aloe Herb Cleanser. It has all these ingredients on it. So these are the only ingredients in the product? Whatever is listed is there.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yes, exactly.
Okay. So then the next one in our Signature Collection is the Citrus Mint Cleanser. And so this is also an aloe vera base. This is a purifying gel cleanser. So this is going to be good for normal, combination, and oily skin types. And it's just more of that purifying herb blend. There's a witch hazel distillate, there's some neem in here, I believe some rosemary. But again, it's that gel texture vs a cream, and so it feels really cooling and kind of refreshing on the skin.
And then in the Wild Alchemy Collection, the two that we've got are the Phytonutrient Cleanser. This one I would say is kind of our most rich, our most like luxe cleanser. This one is a great option if brightening is a concern. This one has apple extract in it. That apple extract is rich in vitamin C and malic acid, which help to brighten the look of skin. This one, it's a cream cleanser. It's good for all skin types, especially mature, dry skin. This one has mango seed butter in it. So it gives it kind of this rich, almost fatty texture. What else? This one has some coconut oil in there too. Some acai, so giving it an antioxidant component. So that's the Phytonutrient. It's got our signature serum blend in that one too.
And then the Restorative Cleansing Oil, this is the last one. This is in the Wild Alchemy Collection as well. So this one is a little bit different from the others in the way that you use it. The others are all more traditional cleansers. So you're going to dampen your skin. You're going to massage your cleanser into the skin and then rinse it clean. This one is an oil, so you apply it to dry skin with dry hands. Pump it into your hands and then you massage it in. You can just rinse it off and that can be it. A lot of people like to remove this one with a warm towel. You can also use this as the first step in a double cleanse routine. If you wanted to do that, you would just pump it in the palm of your hands, massage it in (dry skin, dry hands) and rinse. Then follow with whatever cleanser you want as your second cleanser, Aloe Herb or Phytonutrient, whatever.
Customer: And so this one. How much do you use?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Good question. I tend to overuse my products. You probably only need a couple of pumps, like especially if you're using say the Aloe Herb Cleanser, you're going to be applying it to damp skin. So you probably only need like a couple pumps of it for it to kind of slip around on the face.
How many pumps do you use, Grace? What would you say?
Grace Murray – Annmarie Skin Care Marketing Assistant: I'm trying to picture it as if I'm doing it right now. I would say like three? Maybe three pumps. Yeah, two or three.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: I definitely feel like, especially with the cleansing oil, I tend to use kind of a lot of this one because I do want to really massage it in and I want that nice slip. But I feel like for the traditional cleansers probably two or three pumps should be good if you're applying to damp skin. And this one, like I was saying, you could use it on its own or you could use it in a double cleanse routine as the first step. This one's great for all skin types as well. For dry and mature skin this one feels very nourishing. Especially if you're using it on its own and you're just rinsing it off, it leaves a bit of an oil on the skin. You have a little bit less of that left on the skin if you're removing it with a warm towel or if you're following with a second cleanser. But then even for congestion prone skin, this can be a really good option. Like attracts like, so the oil is going to actually bind to oil based impurities in the skin to help to remove those and it's actually going to help to kind of soften up and break down excess oil and congestion in the skin. I am a huge fan of oil cleansing and I am congestion prone. So this is a great one. And this one, it's a jojoba oil base. So jojoba very closely resembles the texture of your skin's natural sebum. As a company we say that jojoba is great for dry skin types. I personally love jojoba and I think jojoba is great for everybody! This one also has some castor oil in it. This one has tea tree oil, which is going to be purifying. And then it's also got manuka oil. I'm jojoba obsessed. I'm also manuka obsessed. Manuka is going to be very deep cleansing and calming to the skin.
Customer: What was the name of that product?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: This is the Restorative Cleansing Oil.
Any other cleanser questions?
Customer: Which cleanser is best for sensitive skin?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So, Grace is our sensitive skin girlie. And her go to is the Aloe Herb Cleanser.
Any other cleanser questions?
Grace Murray – Annmarie Skin Care Marketing Assistant: There is one in the chat that was a direct message to me but I think it would be good for the whole group to hear because it is a very good question and it said, which product is good for congestion, the cleanser or the oil?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: I assume meaning the traditional cleanser or the oil cleanser?
So like I said, I'm a huge fan of oil cleansing. I really love the Restorative Cleansing Oil. Again, you're going to apply it to dry skin. And then especially if you're using it to target congestion you really want to take your time as you massage it in and really focus on those areas of congestion. So a lot of times like around the nose or down around the chin and mouth area. So really take your time to massage it into those areas before rinsing it clean. And then it's kind of up to you if you want to use it on its own or you can follow with a second cleanser. But I'm a really big fan of oil cleansing for congested skin.
Good question. Was there another question?
Customer: Yeah, so for aging skin, would it be the Phytonutrient Cleanser?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: That would probably be my top pick. It is a great one for targeting signs of aging.
Customer: Okay, thank you.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Of course. Okay, awesome. Any other cleansing questions?
Alright, so the next step in your routine would be your toner. So we have three toners in the line. They're the Rosemary Toning Mist, the Neroli Toning Mist, and the Botanical Hydration Mist With Immortelle. So your toning mist is going to just offer a dose of hydration and skin supporting nutrients. None of our toners are harsh or stripping at all to the skin. And so after you cleanse, you're going to just rinse clean, pat dry, and then you just would mist your toning mist over your face and neck.
So the Neroli Toning Mist, this is our most popular. It's our best selling toning mist. This one's great for all skin types. It's especially good for normal, dry, a little bit of sensitivity. It's a very simple formula. It's just that aloe vera juice base. And then the neroli. The neroli is derived from fresh orange blossoms. So it has a really lovely scent to it, which I think people love. I think that is part of why it's so popular. And then it's got some Aspen Bark Extract which acts as a natural preservative in the product. And it's also a natural source of Salicins, so that's a great one for pretty much anybody.
The Rosemary Toning Mist, this one is going to be good for normal, combination, and oily skin types. This is actually my personal favorite. Whoever was asking about congestion, you could choose the Restorative Cleansing Oil and then mist your Rosemary Toning Mist right after. That is a great combo. So this one again, very simple formula. It’s that aloe vera juice base. This one has some white willow bark which is another natural source of salicins, and then the rosemary, of course which is stimulating, cleansing, and clarifying.
And then lastly, we have the Botanical Hydration Mist with Immortelle. This is in our Wild Alchemy Collection. This one also is a larger size. It's twice the size. Just a side note on that one. This, aside from me, because I just love my rosemary mist, is the favorite amongst the team. Everybody on the team loves this one. This one is great for all skin types. It's especially great for sensitive skin types. This has a blend of four different types of chamomile in it. So it's got a very soothing and calming effect on the skin, helping to lessen the look of temporary redness. This is one of Grace's “holy grail” products. She can't live without this one. This one also has frankincense in it, which is known to tone, tighten, and rejuvenate. Also the immortelle, or life everlasting flowers, are a really potent antioxidant. So both of those kind of give it that anti aging property. This one has some rose in it, so that's nurturing as well. And that is the Botanical Hydration Mist. And this one, the scent profile is definitely a little more herbal. The Rosemary Mist obviously smells like rosemary, and then the Neroli has that kind of sweet, citrusy scent. And so again, you just mist your toning mist after you pat your skin dry after cleansing. And then, I like to apply my serum and oil when my skin is still slightly damp from my toning mist. I think that really helps with absorption, so that it never feels like your products are just kind of sitting on the skin. They're absorbed really nicely. I think on the packaging, it says to mist, let it dry, and then apply your serum and oil but I don't really love that recommendation. I like to apply while damp. And then you also can mist your toning mist throughout the day, like if you just want a little boost of hydration, a little pick me up, perfect for that as well.
Any toning mist questions? Toners are sort of straightforward.
Customer: Yes. You like to put on your serum while your toning mist is still wet? You don't let it dry then?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Right. I like to apply it while damp. I mean, it's kind of personal preference if you have been doing it where you let it dry and then apply and you really like that, that's fine. Like I said, I just think it helps with absorption if you apply the serum and oil while your skin's still a little bit damp.
Customer: Great. Thanks. Awesome. How long does a 50ml bottle last?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So on each of the product pages it tells you when to reorder, which helps give you an idea of how long each product should last you.
Any other toner questions?
Alright. So the next step in your routine is your serum. I feel like serums are where things get a little bit confusing because we do have so many of them. But hopefully we can make it not super confusing for you. So serums in general are excellent hydrators. There's the difference between dehydrated skin, which is skin that's lacking water, and dry skin, which is skin that's lacking oil. Most of the time, most people have a little bit of both, a little bit of dehydration and a little bit of dryness. So that's why we recommend using a combination of both hydrating products and moisturizing products. To help kind of maintain that optimal balance in your skin. So your hydrators are your toning mist and your serum, and then your moisturizer is your facial oil. Serums in general are excellent hydrators. They are made up of a smaller molecule than a facial oil, so they're able to penetrate more deeply into the skin. They usually contain higher levels of activated ingredients. They're more concentrated with these activated ingredients. So they allow you to really kind of target and treat whatever your specific skin concerns are.
And the one that we'll start with is the Anti-Aging Serum. So the Anti-Aging Serum, this is our best selling serum. This is probably our best selling product. People love this one. Again, if you've gotten one of our starter kits or trial kits, you've probably tried it. This one's great for all skin types. So again, I tend to tell people if you're overwhelmed, if you're confused, if you don't know where to start, you could choose this one and you probably can't go wrong. This one is good for all skin types. It's very hydrating and it's very antioxidant rich. It's got buddleja extract in it. It's got those life everlasting flowers in there. I like to think of it as just a daily dose of overall skin nutrition. And then, like I said, it's really hydrating. So this one has hyaluronic acid. We use a plant based non GMO vegetable sourced hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant that binds water to the skin. Hyaluronic in particular holds 1,000 times its weight in water. So it's considered a super hydrator. So really deeply hydrating the skin is going to kind of have a plumping effect on the skin whereas if your skin is dehydrated, it's going to emphasize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles so that's the Anti-Aging Serum. I'm trying to think if i'm forgetting anything with this one. There's some rose in there. So soothing and nurturing as well. The scent profile on this one, I would say it's like a little more floral and you can smell the vetiver in there in this one.
Then the other two that we have in the Signature Collection, The Probiotic Serum With Tremella. This one, again, good for all skin types, but especially for sensitive skin or skin that's kind of out of balance. This one, it's got tremella mushroom in it, so that acts kind of similar to that hyaluronic acid really deeply hydrating the skin. This one has olive leaf extract in it. It has astaxanthin, which is a really powerful antioxidant. And then it's got a probiotic ferment. So that probiotic ferment is going to help to eliminate impurities on the surface of the skin. And it can help to balance the skin's pH. So that's the probiotic. This one, the scent profile is a little bit more earthy. I personally really like the way it smells. Some people do not. Some people say that it smells like dirt. Just a heads up. If you have a strong aversion to mushrooms, maybe don't choose this one, but I really like it.
And then the Citrus Stem Cell, I actually don't have here, but that is the last one in the Signature Collection. Again, good for all skin types, but it's especially good for thicker textured skin, kind of that leathery skin, skin that's had a lot of exposure to the elements, a lot of exposure to the sun. The Citrus Stem Cell can be good for targeted brightening, like if you have one or two dark spots that you're working to lighten and brighten the look of. There's kind of two components to this one. So there's the brightening component, which this one has amla berry, which is very rich in vitamin C, and then it's got licorice root and uva ursi. So those are both lightening and brightening ingredients. Licorice root is used a lot of times in natural products as an alternative to hydroquinone, which is a nasty ingredient that a lot of conventional skin care lines might choose.
And then the other component of this one is the citrus derived stem cells. So we use plant derived stem cells in a lot of our products. A lot of skin care products out there contain stem cells. Sometimes they are derived from animals. Sometimes they're derived from humans. But all of ours are plant derived. These ones specifically are citrus derived. And so these plant cells are going to just provide proteins and peptides and amino acids and things that are really helping to strengthen the skin, to help to increase resilience in the skin. So that's the Citrus Stem Cell. And that's it, that's it for the Signature Collection serums.
We do have these 3 serums available to purchase in a travel size as a set, which is kind of a nice option if you are undecided and want to try all three.
So in our Wild Alchemy Collection, we also have a few there. Let's see. Let's talk about the Wild Fruit Serum first. I only have this little travel size one here but this one is in our Wild Alchemy Collection. I love this one. This is one of my favorites. And this one, it's a very all encompassing serum. I like to refer to it as our “do it all” serum. It's hydrating, it's brightening, it's got anti-aging properties and it's good for all skin types. This one has copper infused water in it. It also has apple extract. So it's the same apple extract that's in the Phytonutrient Cleanser. So rich in vitamin C and malic acid to brighten the look of skin. This one has knotweed extract, which is a potent source of resveratrol. It's got kakadu plum. Kakadu plum is a potent source of vitamin C and it also contains phenolic acid. Phenolic acid behaves on the skin kind of similar to an alpha hydroxy acid, which you've probably heard of alpha hydroxy acids, alpha hydroxy acids kind of dissolve the “glue” that holds the top layer of skin cells. So they have an exfoliating effect on the skin. Trying to think what else this one has madonna lily plant cells. It’s got about 1.5 million active plant cells in each bottle. So a really dense infusion of those plant cells that we talked about earlier. I personally love the Wild Fruit Serum and like I said, it's a very all encompassing serum.
Just noticed the question in the chat asking which would be the best choice for aging and dark spots, the Wild Fruit or the Citrus Stem Cell.
I think that both serums are excellent. My personal recommendation would be the Wild Fruit Serum. Like I said, this serum is kind of that “do it all serum”, so it is addressing both signs of aging and the look of dark spots, etc. Also for me, I feel like the kakadu plum extract and the phenolic acid kind of set that one apart a little bit. That phenolic acid gives it that bit of an exfoliating property to soften your look.
Okay, then what else? We have our Activated CBD Serum. Sometimes I talk about this one, sometimes I don't. Just because there's so many serums, I try not to overwhelm people, but I am going to talk about it because it's great for sensitive skin, which was mentioned as a concern for this group.
So the Activated CBD Serum, this one is kind of an offshoot of our Wild Alchemy Collection. It's sold in its own little boutique on our site, which is just because of the legality of selling a CBD product. But this one, again, it's kind of that very, like, overarching, all encompassing serum. It's great for all skin types, but like I said, it's especially great for sensitive skin. When we created this serum, we of course wanted to source the best, so we partnered with Ojai Energetics. They are really a leader and a pioneer in the CBD space. CBD, it's a little bit hard to say exactly what it does for the skin because it kind of works with your body's natural endocannabinoid system to kind of go where it's needed to go and do what it's needed to do. But as I said, it has a very soothing effect to relieve the appearance of temporary redness in the skin. This one, it's a little bit of a thicker, richer texture than some of our other serums. So it's very hydrating. It's got hyaluronic acid and tremella mushroom extract in there. And then along with the CBD, you've also got some potent antioxidants like the astaxanthin and superoxide dismutase. This one also has mangosteen oil. It's got black cumin seed oil. I never really know how to say that it smells. But it smells so good. I don't know, just sort of clean smelling. But that's the Activated CBD Serum and this is Grace's other holy grail product that she can’t live without.
Maybe I'll let Grace talk about it for a second so I can grab a drink of water.
Grace Murray – Annmarie Skin Care Marketing Assistant: Yeah, so actually I haven't used it here a little bit just because it is on the thicker side. So in summer sometimes it's a little too much, but in fall and winter it is fantastic. A little background. I know Emily had mentioned that I have sensitive skin and am prone to redness, which is very much true. I also have extremely dry skin no matter what time of the year it is. And I also have a lot of food allergies that can trigger my skin to react. So there's just like a lot going on that I usually need to balance out. It's a constant battle. And like she had mentioned, the Botanical Hydration Mist is a must-have product for me. I bring it with me literally everywhere. And then the CBD serum is also great because like you probably know, a lot of people use CBD creams or lotions on their body for aches and pains. This serum I think works in a similar way for the skin. I find for me that it really helps to just calm everything down when my skin is acting up. It's just fantastic. I highly, highly, highly recommend it.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Awesome. Thanks, Grace.
Any questions on the CBD or any of the serums?
Customer: Yes. The serum, how much do you use?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: It just kind of depends on the product. You don't really need very much of the serum. Like I said, I'm an overuser of products in general, but with a serum, you really don't need a lot. Like a pump, I would say is probably good enough. Maybe two pumps.
Customer: For the whole face?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yes. So you can mist your toning mist, pump your serum, and then you can choose how you like to apply it. You can kind of dot it on your nose, chin, cheeks, forehead and then rub it in. Or some people like to kind of put it in their hands and then press it into the skin. You can do whatever feels good to you.
Customer: Is the application of the oil the same?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yes. You pump it into the palm of your hand. You can dot it on and massage it in or you can just press it into the skin. Like I said, I tend to overuse my oil because I like to really massage it into my skin.
Customer: So you can, you can use the oil directly after you use the serum. Is that correct?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yes, exactly. If you want to, you can apply your serum, wait just a second, and then apply your oil, or you don't have to wait, you can just do it back to back, there's no issue with that either.
Customer: Use serum before the oil?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yes, serum always before the oil.
Good questions.
Customer: How long have you been using Annmarie?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Pretty much just since I started working for the company. So about three years now. I actually learned about Annmarie years ago from Kris Carr, who's one of our affiliates. My mom struggled with cancer and Kris Carr is a self-proclaimed cancer-thriver. So that was actually how I first heard about the company. But I wasn’t exclusively using Annmarie products until I began working here.
Okay. What else? Where are we?
Customer: Regarding the sizes of the products. Is it more about certain products you can use less or shelf life?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: You mean why some products are offered in different sizes and others aren’t? That’s more just that for example the Anti-Aging Serum is our best-selling serum. It's our most popular serum. So we decided to make it available in both size options, the 15ml and the 30ml. It's not really based on shelf life. As far as shelf life and expiration date, all of our products have the expiration date printed on the bottom of the bottle. It's like that yellow color. And that is the date, whether it's opened or not. I know some companies, it's like that jar, the kind of picture and that is based off of when the product is open. This is whether it's been open or not. I feel like in general they usually are pretty far out like I don't know this night serum for example the date is 3 of ‘25, but it just kind of depends on the product.
Customer: Thank you.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: You’re welcome.
Okay, so the other serum that we're going to talk about is the Activated Night Serum. This is also in our Wild Alchemy Collection and this is our most recent serum launch. I had to think about that for a second because we've been launching so many products. This is our most recent serum launch and it's fantastic. So this serum contains our bioactive A-Complex, which is our alternative to using a retinol or a retin A or a retinoid. So retinoids are kind of the gold standard in anti-aging. You've probably heard of them. But in general, Vitamin A derivatives are not great for your health. They can be harmful for reproductive health. For skin health, if you're using it over an extended period of time, it can start to thin the skin. Which really isn't what you want as we age. We want to have really healthy, resilient skin and support that natural skin barrier versus thinning the skin. Also, a lot of times traditional retinoids can be really irritating. So if you have more sensitive skin, a lot of times you're not able to use them. So that's why we came out with this serum because we wanted to have something that would offer the same kind of benefits that you get, the same result that you get with a retinol product without any of the kind of unwanted side effects, I guess you would say.
So this contains our bioactive A-Complex. The Bioactive A Complex is derived from algae. So it's a completely safe ingredient. It's a Made Safe approved ingredient. There actually is a fantastic blog on our site that our COO wrote about the bioactive A-Complex that if you ever feel like checking out, I think it's very informative. But this one, like I said, is going to have a similar effect on the skin as a traditional retinol. So it's going to have that resurfacing, renewing effect on the skin. In this serum we've paired that activated bioactive A-Complex with some really nice ingredients that have provide a calming sensation. It's got lavender and blue chamomile in there. So it gives it a really nice balance and it makes it so that even people with sensitive skin usually can use this. Even Grace can use this. Grace uses it, I think every other night, not every night. This one, you do want to make sure that you are using it only at night and that you are using it with an SPF during the day because it can make you more sensitive to the sun. So this is an excellent product if aging is a main concern of yours. This also can be helpful for brightening the look of skin. This also could be helpful for congestion prone skin. So this is the Activated Night. That's a great one. And this also has that little bit thicker, creamier texture to it similar to the CBD Serum. So it feels very hydrating on the skin.
Okay. I think that is all of the serums. So serum questions.
No? Okay. So, also in our serum category, we have our Concentrated Boosting Elixirs. Do you guys want me to talk about elixirs, or do you feel like, whoa, enough?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yes, ok. Let's talk about them quickly. But if you are feeling overwhelmed you can just tune out.
So these are the Concentrated Boosting Elixirs. These I feel like are just kind of a fun extra product. A lot of times people ask, do I need to get the elixirs? You don't really need the elixirs, but they're kind of a fun product. They're a unique product. And if you're somebody who's kind of, you know, has that more extensive skin care routine, you want the most activated ingredients in your routine that you can get, these can be a good option. They just allow you to really boost the level of activated ingredients in your routine, which for the most part higher levels of activated ingredients means more results more quickly. And they also allow you to kind of customize your routine even further. They come in the set of three and the way that you use them, they are never to be applied directly to the skin. They are always to be mixed. We recommend mixing them with a serum. So you would just pump your serum into the palm of your hand. These have this little dropper top. They're pretty liquidy and you just drop one to three drops in with your serum, mix up your serum, press it in, dot it on whatever you like to do. You can kind of mix and match. So you could do like one drop of Hydrate, two drops of Brighten, or just three drops of Brighten, you can kind of play around with it. But the three that come in the set are the Hydrate, the Brighten, and the Revitalize. Hydrate, this is a hyaluronic acid with vegan collagen pre peptides. So we already talked about hyaluronic acid, very deeply hydrating, kind of plumping the skin. The vegan collagen prepeptides are strengthening the skin, increasing resilience. The Brighten, this is a pure vitamin C with seabuckthorn. So this is great for brightening the look of skin, brightening the look of dark spots. The vitamin C that we use in this one is a tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate or THDA. And the reason that we've chosen that particular form of vitamin C is because a lot of vitamin C products on the market are not stable. So you open the product, it goes rancid really quickly, and then it's not effective. So this particular form of vitamin C, the THDA is a very stable form of vitamin C. It's also a very non-irritating form of vitamin C. Sometimes vitamin C products can be irritating for sensitive skin. This one has a pH of seven. So that's the same pH as water. So very non-irritating. And then the Revitalize, this one is the bioactive A-Complex with astaxanthin. So we just talked about the bioactive A-Complex. It is the same activated ingredient that is in the Activated Night Serum. And then this one's paired with astaxanthin. which like I said is a really powerful antioxidant. It's also what gives flamingos their pink color. Fun fact. But that's the Revitalize Elixir. So, you only want to use that one at night and with an SPF during the day because it has that bioactive A in there.
I think that's it with the elixirs. Like I said, you can kind of mix and match. The only exception, the Revitalize, you want to use just at night and you wouldn't mix the Brighten and the Revitalize together in the same application. You would use one in the morning, one at night. The Hydrate, you can mix with either of them and you can use it in the morning or evening. And yeah, I'm trying to think. I feel like I'm forgetting something with those, but like I said, we recommend mixing with your serum because the serum is that smaller molecule size and it's sitting closer to the skin. So you're getting those activated ingredients deep into the skin. But you could also mix it with your facial oil if for some reason you weren't using a serum. So those are the elixirs.
Okay, questions about elixirs or serums or anything?
So after your serum, then the last step in your four step routine would be your facial oil or your moisturizer. As of now, all of our facial moisturizers are oils. We've chosen oils because oils are easily absorbed by the skin. Your skin's natural form of moisture is oil. Oils are more pure. They don't require any fillers or waxes to be used. A lot of times if you go to the drugstore and you get a face cream and you look at the ingredients, a lot of times one of the first ingredients is water. So that's not great because usually ingredients are listed by the level of concentration. So if the first ingredient is water, then you know, water's not doing much for your skin. So then the activated ingredients that would maybe be towards the bottom of the list are not included at high concentrations. The other problem with that is that if you have water in a product, then you have to have more preservatives in the product because bacteria can grow more quickly.
So again, not an issue if you're using a pure oil. So we have several different facial oils. We'll start with the herbal facial oils. In our Signature Collection, we have three herbal facial oils. They're the Herbal Facial Oil for Sensitive Skin, the Herbal Facial Oil for Oily Skin, and the Herbal Facial Oil for Normal and Combination Skin.
I tend to not go into these too deeply because they're named for the skin type they're designed for. So they're sort of self explanatory. But all three of them are a grapeseed oil base. Grapeseed oil is a light textured, skin balancing oil. And then they all just have an herb blend that's tailored towards the skin type it's designed for.
So Herbal Facial Oil for Oily, this one has neem, it has black cumin seed. I actually really love this one. It has kind of more of that citrusy scent, which I really like. So that's a great one. The Herbal Facial Oil for Normal and Combination Skin, this is a balancing facial oil. This one has tamanu, echinacea. I think there's some goji in there. And then the Herbal Facial Oil for Sensitive Skin. I don't have that one here, but that one has no added essential oils, so it's good for sensitive skin types. It's got a bunch of omega rich oils like, sacha inchi oil and camellia seed oil.
And then lastly in the Signature Collection is the Anti-Aging Facial Oil. This one is definitely a go to for a lot of people. It's very popular. This one is the jojoba oil base and then it's got a really dense herb infusion. There's a bunch of different seed oils in this one. So there's carrot seed oil, broccoli seed oil, chia seed oil. Chia for example is rich in vitamin B and zinc. So this is just a very nourishing, very restorative facial moisturizer that's good for dry and mature skin types. Again, a very popular one. So that's the Anti-Aging Oil.
And then in the Wild Alchemy Collection, we have the Rejuvenating Facial Oil. There's just one facial moisturizer in the Wild Alchemy Collection. This one is kind of our luxury oil again, being in the Wild Alchemy Collection. This is our most potent or most active facial oil. So it's good for all skin types, I would say, except very sensitive. What makes it our most potent or most active is the way that it's made. So all of our other facial oils, they have several different herbs in the herb infusion, maybe 20. This one, there's just one herb, it's the butterfly pea flower. And then our other facial oils, they also have more seed oils and CO2 extracts, whereas this one has fewer. And the reason that we included fewer of these things was so that we could include them at a higher percentage, a higher concentration. So it makes it more active, more potent. But that's the Rejuvenating Oil. This one has exotic oils like baobab oil, which is really brightening. It's got marula oil, which is antioxidant rich. It's got mongongo oil, which is very softening. It makes the skin feel very, very soft.
So that's the Rejuvenating and then that's kind of it except like I said we just came out with the Divine Woman Elixir yesterday and this one is also a jojoba oil base, so these two are both jojoba so they're kind of similar as far as, like, level of moisture. The thing that's special about this one, like I was saying, is that Kevin and Annmarie actually grow the herbs that are used in this product themselves, so it's very hands-on. Whereas with the Rejuvenating Oil because this is in the Wild Alchemy Collection, it's got those more kind of global ingredients like the mongongo, the baobab, all of that. The Divine Woman has more of your kind of traditional ingredients like the chamomile and the lavender and the calendula. This one, the scent profile is very different as well. If you're a scent person I have so many scents on my hand right now, but the Divine Woman scent is very light and almost more like citrus, I feel like. Not like heavy citrus, but very light smelling, very clean.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: There’s a question in the chat asking which is best for signs of aging, Divine Woman or Rejuvenating. Honestly, I feel like you really could not go wrong with either of them. One thing to keep in mind with the Divine Woman is that this is a limited edition product. So this exact formulation will not always be available. To answer your question, I guess maybe the Rejuvenating because it is our most potent, most active. But also there's just a little spot in my heart that really loves the Divine Woman. I think it's such a special one.
Customer: I have a question. So for very sensitive and very dry skin which oil would be the best to choose? The Herbal Facial Oil for Sensitive or the Radiate Oil? Again, I think you probably can’t go wrong with either of those. I would probably recommend the Radiate Oil. Grace and I both really like that one. It’s a go-to.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Awesome. Any other questions? Good questions, guys.
No?
Customer: How about eye cream?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Okay, so we can move on to eye products next. So we have two eye products. The Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum and the Anti-Aging Eye Cream. Both of them are excellent. I tend to recommend that if you're going to just choose one or the other, I really like the Anti-Aging Eye Cream. For me, my eye area is just always really dry and the eye cream feels so nourishing.
The Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum, this is a serum, so it's that true serum consistency, that thinner consistency. So for me, I like this one, but it just doesn't usually feel like quite enough moisture for me for my eye area. I tell people a lot of times that if you're somebody who feels like your eye area is your main concern, you can use both together. And you can do that two different ways. You can use the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum in the morning and the Anti-Aging Eye Cream at night. Or you can layer them and layer the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum underneath the eye cream. So that's an option. The Anti-Aging Eye Cream, that one has damas rose plant cells in it. It's got cucumber, which of course is rich in silica and is cooling.
And then the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum, this one has pineapple ceramides. It's got sake peptides which can be helpful for the look of dark undereye circles because they can help to sort of re-texturize the under eye area.
I feel like the Anti-Aging Eye Cream, because it's got that cucumber in there, that can be nice for the puffiness. Another thing for the puffiness that could be really helpful is gua sha. So we have two different gua sha stones. Or even jade rolling. We don’t have our jade roller anymore, but they are widely available.
So those are the two eye products. Questions about eye products?
Customer: I have a question. You said if you use just one, it should be the cream, but unfortunately I'm allergic to chamomile, which is in the cream. If I was using the serum, would you recommend finding some other kind of cream or using one of the facial oils to make sure that I have enough moisture in that area?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: I feel like you could just kind of see how it feels for you. Like if you use the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum and it feels hydrating enough, then I feel like that would probably be fine to just use on its own. Also, if you're not sensitive in that area, you could probably, when you apply your facial oil, apply it around the orbital bone as well. I wouldn't really go above the orbital bone too much with a facial oil.
Good question.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: We are running out of time so let's move on to exfoliants quickly. So exfoliating is really important in a routine. Exfoliation is going to just help to remove buildup and debris. If you don't exfoliate, sometimes you can kind of get that layer of buildup that will prevent your treatment products from being absorbed well to work effectively.
Exfoliation also is kind of a fine line because you want to be careful that you're not over-exfoliating. You don't want to create any irritation or inflammation in the skin, but it can be important to incorporate some type of exfoliation. We have a few different ones, but our newest one is the Radiant C Mask & Polish. I just used it this morning and it's fabulous. So this one it's good for all skin types. I'm pretty sure on our website it says it's good for all skin types except sensitive. But Grace uses it and she's sensitive and has had no issue.
So this one is a dry powder and it can be used a few different ways. This is like a multitasker, which I love. I love a multitasking product. But it's a dry powder. I don't know if you can see. And so to use it, if you want to use it as an exfoliant, you can just mix some water with it to create a paste. And this would be after you cleanse. And then you could just massage it into the skin then rinse clean. You also can mix it right in with your cleanser, which is great. Save a step. It mixes very nicely with the Aloe Herb or the Phytonutrient cleanser.
You also can use it as a mask, so you can mix it with water, apply it on the skin, and let it sit for 10 or 15 minutes before you remove.
You can mix it with all different things. So you can mix it with yogurt. You can mix it with honey. It mixes really nicely with our Illuminating Pearl Mask. This is a really popular hydrating, brightening treatment mask. You could mix it with that and let it sit on the skin for 15 minutes and then rinse clean. It leaves the skin looking so radiant.
So it's excellent because like I said, it's really a multitasker. It's an exfoliant. It's a treatment mask. You can mix it with different things. It's awesome because it's a physical exfoliant and a chemical exfoliant in one. So it's got the bamboo stem powder, that is the physical exfoliant in it. A physical exfoliant is going to have that scrubby gritty texture to physically polish the skin. But then it's also got the acids and enzymes from all the fruits in there. So there's hibiscus in there, which gives it its really beautiful color. But then there's also acerola cherry, there's lemon in here, there's strawberry, I’m trying to think what other fruits are in here. It’s got goji berry, amla berry.
So that is the Radiant C. This one, you would probably use this one two or three times a week.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Any other questions really quick before we hop off? Because we only have a couple minutes left, so I don't think I'll probably jump into another group of products, but if anybody has any questions that are lingering, we could answer a question or two.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Is there a hand?
Customer: So for my skin could you recommend a routine to address signs of aging?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yes, of course.
I would go with the Phytonutrient Cleanser, the Neroli or the Botanical Hydration Mist, the Wild Fruit Serum and Activated Night Serum and the Rejuvenating Facial Oil.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: All right, you guys. Well, thank you so much. Thank you for all your questions and for hanging out with us and listening to me chat about skin care for an hour and a half. I hope that you learned something and had fun hanging out with us.
