Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: We recommend a basic four step routine. This is kind of our general recommendation. And that routine you would do morning and evening.
It consists of cleansing, toning, using a serum and a moisturizer. I like to always tell people this is the basic routine that we recommend. I think it's really great if you can customize your routine and really find what works best for you, for your skin, and for your lifestyle. So if you're somebody who has no skin care routine currently, you're probably not going to jump into a six step routine that takes you 30 minutes morning and night and be really consistent with it. Which is fine. So in that case, maybe you want to start with just a cleanser and a facial oil. And then you could kind of build from there. That would be the most basic routine that you would want to have. But we will start with cleansing because whether your routine has two steps in it or ten steps in it, you're going to start with cleansing.
And cleansing really is just the process of removing makeup and impurities from the skin. A thorough cleanse is going to help to prep the skin so that it can better absorb your treatment products so that they can work more effectively. We have four cleansers in our line and before we jump into cleansers, I'll actually stop there and talk about our collections.
Within our line, we have a few different collections. The two main collections that we will focus on are the Signature Collection. So the Signature Collection products all have tan labeling and then the Wild Alchemy Collection, all of those products have black and gold labeling. Our Wild Alchemy Collection is our luxury collection. And what makes it our luxury line is just that the products in this collection contain higher levels of activated ingredients. They contain more exotic ingredients. A lot of times the way these products are made, the crafting process is just a little bit more laborious as well. And then our Signature Collection, a lot of these products are our best sellers. A lot of these products have been around since we first got started. So those are our two main collections. We have a couple other little ones. I will mention the Essentials Collection. Just because Grace and I both really like the Radiate Oil. We always mention it. The Essentials Collection is just two products. It's the Renew Facial Cream Cleanser and the Radiate Oil. And these two products are actually offered at a lower price point than any of our other products. And the reason for that is just that they are very simple formulas. They don't contain our herb infusions. So the way that they're made, the crafting process and the formula, it's all just more simple, but they're still great products.
They can be really great for somebody who is just getting started on a routine or maybe for a teen who doesn't have a routine and just kind of wants to start with something, but they can also be great for more sensitive skin types. Like I said Grace and I both really like that one. I'm not sensitive but Grace is very sensitive.
I always think it's funny because my two favorite oils are the Rejuvenating Oil and the Radiate Oil which are on completely opposite ends of the spectrum. So those are the collections that we have within our line.
Now back to cleansers. All of our cleansers are pH balanced, so I like to mention this because I think it's important to choose a pH balanced cleanser. This is going to just ensure that you're not stripping your skin, you're not drying out your skin, you're not disrupting your skin's protective barrier, your acid mantle. Your skin's pH is between 4. 5 and 5. 5. And all of our cleansers, the pH is between 5.5 and 5.6 which is printed here on the label on all of our cleansers as well.
A lot of conventional cleansers, a lot of drugstore cleansers, tend to be more alkaline. A lot of cleansers that have high foaming properties contain things like lauryl sulfates. We use a safe, low foaming surfactant in our cleansers. We don't use any harsh sulfates. We use a sodium lauryl glucose carboxylate which sounds very fancy, but it's really just saponified oils, plant starches, and sugars. So that is the surfactant that we use in all of our cleansers. Like I said, it's a safe, low foaming surfactant option. The two cleansers that we have in the Signature Collection are the Aloe Herb Cleanser and the Citrus Mint Cleanser. So the Aloe Herb Cleanser, this is the one we'll start with. This is our best selling cleanser. If you've ever tried one of our starter kits or trial kits, you've probably tried this one. This one is great for all skin types.
I tell people if you're feeling overwhelmed, if you're not sure where to start, this can be a good place to start. Because like I said, it's good for all skin types. You really can't go wrong with this one. And especially this group mentioned sensitivity, so this is a good choice for that. This one, of course, has aloe in it which is rich in vitamins and minerals, phytonutrients and enzymes. This one has some lemon essential oil, which is purifying and brightening. It also gives it a really nice scent. People like the way this one smells a lot. Grace wishes she had it in a candle, she always says. What else? This one has calendula in it, which helps to alleviate any temporary redness. It's got some coconut oil, which kind of contributes to that creamy texture. So that's the Aloe Herb. Probably won't talk too much about Citrus Mint, because it doesn't really sound like that is, you know, for anyone in this group, but this one is for more oily skin types. It's a purifying gel cleanser.
And then in our Wild Alchemy Collection, we have the Restorative Cleansing Oil and the Phytonutrient Cleanser. These are my two faves. The Restorative Cleansing Oil as the name suggests is an oil. So you use this one a little bit differently than you would a traditional cleanser. This one you actually apply to dry skin. So you're gonna pump it into the palm of your hand and then really massage it into your skin. Dry hands, dry face. You can just rinse clean. A lot of people like to remove this one with a warm cloth or a warm towel. And then if you want to, that can be it. Or you can use this as the first step in a double cleanse routine. And if you wanted to do that, after you rinse, you would just follow with whatever cleanser you like as your second cleanse. So, Citrus Mint, Aloe Herb, whatever you like. This one is great for all skin types.
For dry and mature skin, it feels very nourishing. It actually leaves a little bit of an oil on the skin. For oilier skin types or congestion prone skin types, which it doesn't sound like that's an issue for this group, but it's great for those skin types as well because like attracts like, so that oil is going to help to kind of soften and break down excess oil and congestion in the skin.
This one is excellent for removing makeup. If you wear makeup, it's great for removing things like mascara, waterproof mascara, and sunscreen. So I love this one, but I just love oils and oil cleansing in general. And then lastly, oh, I didn't mention any ingredients. This one is a jojoba oil base. So jojoba very closely resembles the texture of your skin's natural sebum.
So we as a company say that jojoba is great for dry and mature skin. I think it's great for all skin. I just love jojoba. This one also has some castor oil in it. It's got manuka oil in it. I am also manuka obsessed. Manuka is going to be very deep cleansing and calming to the skin. It's got some tea tree oil in there as well, so some purifying properties.
And then lastly, we've got our Phytonutrient Cleanser. This one, again, is in the Wild Alchemy Collection. This one is a cream cleanser. It is suitable for all skin types. So similar to Aloe herb, in that both are cream cleansers, but this one has a little bit thicker, fattier texture to it.
It's got the coconut oil as well, but it's got a mango seed butter in it that kind of contributes to that fatty texture. It smells kind of fruity, I guess. Tropical, maybe? And this one has acai in it. It's got our Signature Serum blend. This one has, like I said, coconut oil. This one has apple extract in it too. So the apple extract is going to be rich in vitamin C and malic acid. It gives this cleanser a little bit of a brightening property. So, with any cleanser, but especially this one, I like to really encourage people to take their time as you cleanse, really massage your cleanser in and do a thorough cleanse before you rinse so that you're not just quickly applying it and then rinsing all of those activated ingredients down the drain, because then they can't really do anything.
But those are the four cleansers. So, questions about cleansers, about cleansing, anything?
Customer: Quick question. I think on the website, just looking at the checkboxes it said that the last one you were talking about is good for large pores. Why would that be or what helps large pores?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: The Phytonutrient it said?
Customer: It did.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: I would assume that then it would be because of that apple extract and the malic acid in there. I mean, it's so mild but usually any type of acid or enzyme is going to have a refining effect on the skin to help to improve texture which can help with the look of enlarged pores.
Customer: Okay. And that’s the one that you like?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, these are my two personal favorites. And then I know Grace loves the Aloe Herb. That's her favorite. Like I said, this is our bestseller. So people love that one. But yeah, these are my faves. I love these two. I tend to use the Restorative Cleansing Oil in the evening and then I'll use the Phytonutrient in the morning or sometimes I'll do a double cleanse and I'll use the Restorative and follow it with the Phytonutrient. Just kind of depends on how tired I am.
So those are the cleansers and then the next step in your routine would be your toner. So we have three different toners in the line. They are the Rosemary Toning Mist, the Neroli Toning Mist, and the Botanical Hydration Mist With Immortelle. The Rosemary is actually my favorite, but I am congestion prone. I don't think anybody in this group is going to need this one, but that one is going to have more purifying properties to it from the rosemary. It's also got some neem. Then the Neroli. This one is very popular. This is probably our best selling toning mist. This one is good for all skin types.
It's a very simple formula. It's an aloe vera juice base and then it's got some aspen bark extract in it, and that acts as a natural preservative but it's also a natural source of salicins and then it's got the neroli essential oil. Neroli is derived from fresh orange blossoms, so it gives it a really nice scent.
That's another one that I think people love because of the way it smells. And then lastly, the botanical, the Botanical Hydration Mist With Immortelle. This one is in the Wild Alchemy collection. This one's a little bit different. The other two are the aloe vera juice base. This one is a hydrosol.
So a hydrosol is like this watery runoff that you get when you create an essential oil through a steam distillation. So it gives it sort of this really nice soft texture. Soft feel? I don't know if texture is the right word. But this one has a blend of four different types of chamomile. It's also got some rose in it. So this one is very good for sensitive skin, soothing the look of temporary redness, calming, and nurturing skin. This one has frankincense in it. So frankincense is known to tone, tighten, and rejuvenate. So it gives it kind of that anti-aging property. And then it's got the Immortelle, of course, or life everlasting flowers, which are a potent antioxidant.
So for this group, you probably could do either of these and be good. Scent profile wise, like I said, this one has the neroli in it and then this one the botanical it smells more herbal with the frankincense. I'm trying to think what else…so for your toning mist, after you cleanse you just rinse, pat your skin dry, and then mist your toning mist over your face and neck. You can also mist throughout the day if you just want a little boost of hydration.
Your toning mist is completing the cleansing process. It's offering a dose of skin supporting nutrients and hydration to the skin. It's also helping to kind of rebalance the skin after cleansing.
So like I said, all of our cleansers are pH balanced. But if you're cleansing with water, water is like a seven on the pH scale. So you still want to rebalance your skin after cleansing. So the toner is helpful for that. And like I said, you can mist throughout the day if you want to, if you wear makeup or something, you can still just mist right over top for that extra hydration.
I actually mist at the end of my routine after I apply my facial oil, which is just personal preference, but it helps to dilute that oil a little bit further. I feel like it just leaves a really nice finish on the skin. I am toning mist obsessed. I can't really live without toning mist. And then, all of our toners, I believe on the packaging say mist your toning mist, allow it to dry and then apply your serum and oil. I don't really love that recommendation. I would mist and then when your skin is still damp from your toning mist, apply your serum and oil. It's just going to help it to absorb better. And what else? Your toning mist, like I said, it's a hydrator. So there's the difference between dehydrated skin, which is water dry skin and dry skin, which is oil dry skin. So that's why you want to use a combination of hydrating products and moisturizing products. Most people have a combination of dehydration and dryness. So using that combination of those two types of products is going to help to treat both of those things so that you're achieving optimum moisture levels in your skin, which is just going to help to contribute to a healthy skin barrier.
And so your toning mist and your serum, those are your hydrators. And then your facial oil, that is your moisturizer. So questions about toners or toning mists. They're sort of straightforward.
So next we'll talk about serums. So after you mist your toning mist, then you would apply your serum.
Like I said, serums are excellent hydrators for dehydrated skin. They usually contain high levels of activated ingredients. So they're usually very concentrated. They allow you to really kind of target whatever your specific skin concerns are, so you can customize your routine and personalize your routine to target and treat whatever your specific concern is.
We have several different serums in our line. I feel like serums are where things can start to get a little bit confusing. So in our Signature Collection, we have our Anti-Aging Serum, Citrus Stem Cell Serum, and our Probiotic Serum With Tremella.
We'll start with the Anti-Aging Serum. This one is our best selling serum. One of our top selling products always, so people love this one. This one is good for all skin types. It is very hydrating. It's very rich in antioxidants. It's got life everlasting flowers. It's got buddleja extract. I like to tell people I think of this serum as just a daily dose of skin nutrition. With all those antioxidants in there. It's got some rose in it. So soothing and nurturing. It's got hyaluronic acid. We use a non GMO vegetable sourced hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant that binds water to the skin. So it actually holds 1000 times its weight in water, so it's considered a super hydrator.
So really deeply hydrating the skin is going to help to kind of have a plumping effect which is going to help to minimize the appearance of fine lines. And who doesn't want that?
Then we have our Citrus Stem Cell Serum. I actually don't have that one here. But it again, is good for all skin types, but it's especially good for thicker textured skin, skin that has had a lot of exposure to the elements.
This one is good for targeted brightening. So if you have dark spots or pigmentation, if there's like one or two spots that you have that you're really working on, this can be a good choice. The brightening combination in this one is a combination of amla berry, Licorice Root, and Uva Ursi.
So, amla berry is very rich in vitamin C, and then the licorice root and uva ursi are lightening and brightening as well. The licorice root is often used in natural products as an alternative to hydroquinone, which is a yucky ingredient. And then the citrus derived stem cells, of course.
So we use plant derived stem cells in a lot of our products. Stem cells in skin care products are often derived from all sorts of places that you might not want them derived from. So we use plant derived stem cells. And these stem cells are going to provide proteins and peptides and amino acids that are really going to help to strengthen the skin. Like we talked about, just strengthening the skin, supporting your skin's natural barrier contributes to healthy aging.
And then lastly, in the Signature Collection, we have the Probiotic Serum With Tremella. This one, good for all skin types, but especially for sensitive skin or skin that is out of balance.
So this may be a good choice for some in this group. I actually really like this one. This one has a probiotic ferment, so that is going to help to eliminate impurities on the surface of the skin. It can help to balance the skin's pH. This one has olive leaf extract in it. It has astaxanthin, which is a really powerful antioxidant that we have in a lot of our products. And then it's got the tremella mushroom extract, which acts similar to the hyaluronic acid, so very deeply hydrating to the skin. This one smells very earthy. Some people don't love the way it smells. I personally really like the way it smells. But Grace does not. So the scent profile is just personal preference. I feel like the Anti-Aging Serum is very vetiver heavy and then this one, like I said, smells more earthy. Okay, so those are the three that are in the Signature Collection.
And then in the Wild Alchemy collection, we have the Wild Fruit Serum, which I don't have here, which is crazy because I really love that one. But the Wild Fruit Serum, I like to refer to it as our do it all serum. I would say kind of in general, I tend to think of the Signature serums as a little bit more targeted and then the Wild Alchemy serums as a little bit more all encompassing.
So the Wild Fruit Serum is good for all skin types and that one is hydrating, it's brightening, it's anti-aging. It's got copper infused water in it, which is a really kind of unique, cool ingredient. It also has apple extract, so the same apple extract that is in the Phytonutrient Cleanser. So rich in malic acid and vitamin C to help with brightening. That one has knotweed extract, which is rich in resveratrol. It's also got kakadu plum extract. So this makes it kind of a standout for me, personally. The kakadu plum is very rich in vitamin C, again, helping to brighten. It's also got phenolic acid in it, and phenolic acid behaves on the skin similar to an alpha hydroxy acid. Alpha hydroxy acids you've probably heard of, and they help to kind of dissolve the glue that holds the top layer of skin cells. So they have a resurfacing, retexturizing effect, so they can help improve texture and tone. So I really love that one. I also like the way that one smells. It's like more fruity, obviously, Wild Fruit.
And then let's see. Then we've got the Activated CBD Serum. This one could be another really great option for this group.
This one on our site, it's kind of off in its own little world, which is just because of the legality around selling a CBD product. This one we can only sell in the U. S. I don't know if everybody's in the U. S. So the Activated CBD. This is a sort of newer product. When we created this product we partnered with Ojai Energetics to source our CBD. They are really a leader and a pioneer in the CBD space and we of course wanted to source the best CBD that we could. It's sort of unique because it contains both a fat soluble CBD and a water soluble CBD, which I feel like is something that makes it unique among the many CBD products out there.
So the water soluble CBD is going to be absorbed more quickly to have more of an instant effect, where the fat soluble CBD is absorbed more slowly over time to have more of a cumulative effect. CBD, it's a little bit tricky to say exactly what it does for the skin because it works with your body's natural endocannabinoid system to kind of go where it's needed to go and do what it's needed to do. But this one is very hydrating, so it contains both the hyaluronic acid and the tremella mushroom extract. So that gives it a little bit thicker texture than a lot of our other serums. Most of our serums are a little more aqueous. This one also is very soothing, so it's a really good choice for sensitive skin types.
It can be used for all skin types, but like I said, it's very calming so I always let Grace talk about this one because she loves it so much.
Grace Murray – Annmarie Skin Care Marketing Assistant: It's actually part of the reason that this morning was the first time I've ever used the Wild Fruit Serum because I'm so addicted to the CBD Serum. I just have not wanted to change it up, but I thought I would be wild and crazy and you love it so much. And I've heard so many good things from other team members that I was like, okay, I'll give it a try. But the Activated CBD Serum is my holy grail. I've been using it lately. I've actually been using it day and night besides this morning. And I loved it even more, which I didn't think was possible, but here we are. So as Emily kind of mentioned a little earlier, I have very sensitive skin. I have really dry skin. There's just usually a lot going on. I have congestion prone skin. I'm just like all over the place. And the Activated CBD Serum is perfect for really all of that, to be honest with you. But the biggest thing that I notice is it's extremely hydrating like Emily mentioned, and it's also really, really good for calming the look of temporary redness. You'll kind of see an immediate relief from the redness, like pretty much right after application I've noticed. And then it just kind of gets better the more you use it too. And it's also, with the consistent use, I have found for my skin, that it kind of helps tame down the flare ups as well.
So it's just really, really great for sensitive skin, and I just cannot recommend it enough, because I have seen great results for my skin.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Awesome. Thanks, Grace. So that's the CBD Serum. And then that one also has a bunch of other great stuff in it. It's got mangosteen oil, black cumin seed oil and the astaxanthin that I mentioned before. So again, very antioxidant rich too.
Lastly we have the Activated Night Serum. So this is our most recent serum launch in our Wild Alchemy Collection. And this one's pretty fantastic if you ask me. So this contains our Bioactive A-Complex, which is our retinol alternative. It's our version of a retinol. So retinols, retinoids are kind of the gold standard in anti-aging but they aren't great in some other ways.
They're not really great for your health, like especially reproductive health, they're not great. And then even for skin health, like if you're using a traditional retinol over an extended period of time, it can start to thin the skin which as we talked about, we don't want to thin the skin, we want to support the skin's natural barrier to create really healthy, resilient skin as we age.
So that is why we came out with this product and chose the bioactive A-Complex. It's actually derived from algae. So it's a completely safe ingredient. So anybody can use it. Even sensitive skin types can use this one. Grace uses it. I think Grace said you use it every other night, right? Yeah. Like alternate?.
Grace Murray – Annmarie Skin Care Marketing Assistant: Right now I'm doing it like two ish times a week, but I can do it every other night. It depends on how my skin's doing and my mood, really.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: It's a nice combination because we have the bioactive A in there, which is kind of a more active ingredient. And then we've paired it with some really nice, calming ingredients. It's got lavender and blue chamomile in it. So it is a really nice balance of activated and calming ingredients. You do want to use this one only at night as the name suggests because it can make you a little bit more sensitive to the sun. And we do recommend using it with an SPF during the day. But that retinol well, not the retinol, sorry.
The bioactive A that is similar to a retinol, is going to have a resurfacing effect and a renewing effect on the skin so this is a great ingredient to incorporate to kind of target and treat signs of aging so that's the Activated Night Serum. I think I'll stop there and see if we have any questions, and then we can talk about the elixirs.
Any questions about serums? Or anything else?
Customer: Just that now I'm torn between two of them.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: That can be hard. Which two are you thinking?
Customer: Well, the CBD did sound really interesting for the redness, cause that's really what I'm looking for. But you also mentioned the probiotic one, but I'm not a big earthy smell person. So.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: I feel like I would go with the CBD then.
Customer: Yeah.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Mostly because of the scent profile, the CBD doesn't smell earthy at all, it smells like. I don't know. What does it smell like? It smells good. It smells lovely.
Grace Murray – Annmarie Skin Care Marketing Assistant: Sometimes I feel like it kind of smells like freshly cut grass in a way. Like in a good way.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: I do like both. I know a lot of times Grace will use the probiotic in the morning and use the CBD in the evening. The CBD is richer, like we talked about, it has that little bit thicker texture So when you're using it during the day it is nice to make sure you apply it when your skin is still slightly damp from the toning mist. Just so that it doesn't feel heavy at all on the skin and you really don't need much at all.
I mean, how much do you use, Grace? Like, one or two pumps?
Grace Murray – Annmarie Skin Care Marketing Assistant: I don't even think I use that much. I would even say sometimes I use half a pump to a pump. Because it is so thick that when your skin is damp you really don't need a lot. Which also makes it last longer.
Customer: I know we're going to jump into that next question. Category, but then do you use something after it?
Grace Murray – Annmarie Skin Care Marketing Assistant: Yeah, I use the Radiate facial oil right after it but we'll get into that later.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Perfect. Okay, cool. So then any other serum questions?
Customer: One question. So yeah, well, do you for aging skin, do you recommend generally using the Signature then or the Wild Alchemy?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: You really don't have to choose between one or the other. You don't have to, like, stick with all the Signature Collection products or all the Wild Alchemy. I feel like it's nice to just kind of, you know, find what you love the most. I mean, I feel like I use a mixture of both. I will say that in general we say that the Wild Alchemy Collection does contain higher levels of activated ingredients and higher levels of activated ingredients kind of means more results. For example, the bioactive A-Complex that we talked about, that ingredient is only in our Wild Alchemy Collection products.
It's in this serum and in the Revitalize Elixir that we're going to talk about. And then the malic acid that's in the Phytonutrient Cleanser from the apple extract, like, those types of ingredients I feel like are gonna have more of an effect if you're looking to target signs of aging.
But, like I said, I feel like it's fine to kind of mix and match.
Customer: Perfect. Thank you.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah of course. Okay. So the Concentrated Boosting Elixirs, I'll just talk about really quick. These are also in the Wild Alchemy Collection. These are just sort of like a fun extra product. So people often ask, do I need the elixirs?
You don't really need them but some people just like to use them. So they come in a set of three. They come with the Hydrate Elixir, the Brighten Elixir, and the Revitalize Elixir. The way that you use them, you never use them directly on the skin, because they are very concentrated. They come with a dropper top. They're a very liquidy consistency. So you just pump your serum into the palm of your hand. You drop one to three drops of your elixir. Mix it up and apply it. So the Hydrate Elixir, this is a hyaluronic acid with vegan collagen pre peptides. So we already talked about hyaluronic acid and the pre peptides are going to just be really strengthening to the skin. Again the peptides and amino acids and all those sorts of things really help to strengthen the skin. Then the Brighten Elixir. This is a pure vitamin C with seabuckthorn. So this one obviously is good for brightening the look of dark spots. The vitamin C that we use in this product is tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate or THDA, which is a mouthful. But the reason that we've chosen that particular vitamin C is because it's a very stable form of vitamin C. So a lot of vitamin C products on the market are unstable, so you buy the product, you open it, and then it goes rancid really quickly, and then it's not effective. A lot of vitamin C products are also irritating to the skin. This one's not irritating to the skin. It has a pH of 7. What else? I'm trying to think. What else? A lot of them are also petroleum derived. And then we've paired this one with the seabuckthorn.
And then the last one in the set is the Revitalize Elixir. So this is the bioactive A-Complex with astaxanthin. It's the exact same ingredient that's in the Activated Night Serum. And then the astaxanthin is that potent antioxidant that we talked about. It is also what gives flamingos their pink color. Fun fact. And these, like I said to use them, you can kind of mix and match. They allow you to really just, up the level of activated ingredients in your routine, in your product.
They also allow you to really further customize your routine. So maybe, for example, in this group, it sounds like we have some sensitive skin. Maybe you're super sensitive, but you still want to incorporate vitamin C or the bioactive A, like a retinol type product into your routine. You could use maybe the Probiotic Serum for sensitive skin, and you could start by using just one drop of Revitalize or one drop of Brighten in your serum to kind of customize in that way.
But like I said, in general, you would use one to three drops, and you can kind of mix and match. So say in the morning you want to use one drop of Hydrate and two drops of Brighten or in the evening you want to use three drops of Revitalize, or one drop of Hydrate and one drop of Revitalize. You can kind of mix and match. The only exceptions are, the Revitalize we recommend using in the evening with an SPF, because it has the Bioactive A in it. And we don't recommend using the Brighten and the Revitalize mixed together. Like you would use one in the morning, one at night. Those are the only exceptions.
But those are the Concentrated Boosting Elixirs. Again, not a necessary product, but kind of a fun, extra product. Cool. Questions about elixirs. Or any other serum questions or anything?
I see one in the chat. Yes. You always mix your elixir with the serum. If for some reason you weren't using a serum, you could mix it with your facial oil.
I think the reason we recommend mixing with a serum is just because a serum is a smaller molecule than a facial oil, so it penetrates more deeply. So like getting those activated ingredients deeper into the skin. But yes, you can mix with either. Cool. Okay, then what's next? Facial oil. So after you apply your serum, then you apply your oil, which is your moisturizer.
So all of our moisturizers are oils. This is because oils are more pure, they don't require any fillers or waxes to be used. They are easily absorbed. Your skin's natural form of moisture is oil. So that's why we've chosen oils. We have several different oils in the line.
We'll start with the Herbal Facial Oils. So in the Signature Collection, we have the Herbal Facial Oils. There's the Herbal Facial Oil for Normal and Combination Skin, the Herbal Facial Oil for Oily, and the Herbal Facial Oil for Sensitive. I tend to not go too deep into these because they are named for the skin type that they are designed for, so they're kind of self explanatory.
They all are a grapeseed oil base, which is a light textured, skin balancing oil. It's rich in omega 6 and vitamin E. And then they contain an herb blend based on the skin type it's addressing. So, Herbal Facial Oil for Normal and Combination Skin is going to be a skin balancing oil. It's got some echinacea in there, some chamomile, some goji.
The Herbal Facial Oil for Sensitive Skin, that one contains no added essential oils. So it makes it a good choice for sensitive skin. It's a combination of a bunch of different omega rich oils. It's got camellia seed oil, sacha inchi oil in it. That one has squalane in it as well. And then the Herbal Facial Oil for Oily, obviously for oily skin. It's got black cumin seed and neem and some different things but I don't think anybody in this group needs that one. And then lastly in our Signature Collection, we have our Anti-Aging Facial Oil This one is very popular. One of our best selling products. This one is a jojoba oil base. So we already kind of talked about jojoba, it's very nourishing and very moisturizing. This one contains a bunch of different seed oils. So it's got broccoli seed oil, carrot seed oil, chia seed oil-chia, for example, is rich in vitamin B3 and zinc. So this one is just, like I said, a nourishing restorative moisturizer that's good for dry and mature skin types.
And then, let's see, those are all the facial oils in the Signature Collection. And then in the Wild Alchemy Collection, we have the Rejuvenating Facial Oil. This is my favorite, but I'm not sure, since we have some sensitive skin types in the group, if this would be ideal for you or not.
Because I know Grace, this one is like too much for her. For me, I don't have that problem. This is our most active, most potent facial oil because of the way that it's made. So our other facial oils, they contain in the herb infusion, like 15 to 20 herbs. This one contains one herb. It's the butterfly pea flower.
And then our other facial oils, they contain maybe 20 to 30 different seed oils and CO2 extracts, whereas this one has like 15, so it's far fewer. The reason that we did that is because then we're able to include those ingredients at much higher percentages.
So it makes it more active, more potent. It does have some blue tansy in there though, which is really calming and soothing. It's got mongongo oil, which is really softening to the skin. It's got baobab, which helps to brighten. Marula oil is very antioxidant rich. So I personally love this one.
If you're very sensitive, it might not be the best choice. If you're sensitive and you want to use it, you could try mixing it. It mixes nicely with the Anti-Aging Facial Oil or the Herbal Facial Oil for Sensitive Skin. And then the other one is the Radiate. Like I said, that one is in the Essentials Collection.
So it's a very simple formula, but I know Grace and I both really like that one and it can be a good choice for sensitive skin types. So that would be kind of another option. So those are facial oils. And so after you mist your toning mist, you apply your serum. You can give it a second to kind of absorb and then apply your facial oil over top.
You probably need like one or two pumps. I tend to be an overuser of facial oil because I like to really massage it in. Like I said, I like to mist my toner after I apply my facial oil as well. I mist it before I apply serum and oil and then I mist after I apply my oil as well. Totally optional. Just personal preference. But those are facial oils. And those are providing your moisture like we talked about. We've got the serums and the toners to help with the dehydration. And then the oils to help with the dryness. So questions about facial oils or anything else?
Customer: Do you use a different one in the morning or evening?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: You can. You don't need to do that. All of them can be used in the morning or evening. But if you just want to use two different ones, because maybe you can't decide, or maybe you just want the benefits of both, that's totally fine, and you can do one in the morning, one in the evening. Like I said, I tend to alternate. It's not necessarily morning and evening, but I just sometimes use Rejuvenating, sometimes I'll use Radiate. I do also love the Divine Woman, but we don't have that one anymore, so I won't talk about it. So those are the oils. Any other oil questions?
Okay so that is your main routine. Then kind of we just have extras. So eye care was mentioned earlier. We have two different eye products. The Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum and then the Anti-Aging Eye Cream. Mine looks kind of sad, but these are the two eye products that we have. They're both great.
I usually tell people if you're going to just choose one or the other, I personally like the eye cream. It just feels very nourishing to me. This one has damas rose plant cells. It's got cucumber, which is cooling, obviously, and rich in silica. So for me, this is my choice. You can use them together.
They work really great together. If you want to use them together, you would layer the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum underneath the Anti-Aging Eye Cream. So that can be a good option if you are somebody who feels like your eye area is your main concern. With the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum, I always tell people to make sure you are using a very tiny bit. And it can be helpful to apply it when your skin is still damp. If you overuse this one, it just doesn't apply nicely. It kind of pills or peels. So you only need a little bit. But this one is still great even though I tend to lean towards the eye cream. It's got the ceramides. The pineapple ceramides. It's got sake peptides. The sake peptides can be good for helping to kind of re-texturize the under eye area, so if dark circles are a big concern of yours, this can be a good choice but those are the two eye products that we have.
Grace said the eye serum is out of stock, but it'll be coming back soon. And then what else? Okay, so then I usually like to touch on exfoliants because I think exfoliation is an important step in any routine. Exfoliation can be a little bit tricky because it's kind of a fine line because you want to incorporate exfoliation, but you don't want to overdo it. You don’t want to over exfoliate because you don't want to cause any irritation or inflammation in the skin. We have three different exfoliants, the Ayurvedic Facial Scrub, the Kaolin Micro Exfoliant, and the Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant. The Ayurvedic Facial Scrub would be probably a great choice for anybody in this group.
It is a dry, powdered, herbal exfoliant. It is very gentle, so even very sensitive skin types can use this one. It's a powder, so you just shake it into the palm of your hand. You can mix it with some water to create a paste and then massage it into the skin. I actually like to mix this one just directly into my cleanser. It mixes really nicely with the Aloe Herb or the Phytonutrient. And I love that because I love to save a step and multitask. This one contains Moroccan rhassoul clay. So any clay is going to be very mineral rich. It's going to have some purifying properties. Fenugreek. Fenugreek is what gives this its little bit of grit. Fenugreek also has some naturally occurring saponins that act as mild cleansing agents on the skin. But that is the Ayurvedic.
The Kaolin Micro Exfoliant, that one is our cream exfoliating facial scrub. It still is fairly gentle and you can use it for sensitive skin types. It's a kaolin clay base, so again, mineral rich and purifying. It's got lavender in it. So that is going to be calming and soothing. That is also the scent profile for this one and this one can be mixed. So if you're sensitive, but you want to use it, you could mix a little bit of it into your cleanser. It really mixes nicely with the Aloe Herb Cleanser, I know that Grace loves that combo. And it's so nice because you get the lemon from the Aloe Herb and the lavender from the Kaolin so it's this lovely lemon lavender scent.
And that one, the Kaolin, it's a crushed bamboo powder. That's the exfoliating property in that one. And then lastly, we have the Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant, which I'm not sure if that would be the best choice for anybody here just because everybody seems to be on the more sensitive side. That one is our chemical exfoliant.
So the other two are physical exfoliants. They have a scrubby gritty texture that is physically polishing the skin. The Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant is a smooth gel texture. You use it the way that you would a mask. You apply it to clean skin. You leave it on for just two or three minutes to start. You can work your way up to using it for more like 10 minutes if your skin can handle that. It's got a honey derived lactic acid in it. So that is the exfoliating component. And lactic acid is a very mild alpha hydroxy acid. So again, alpha hydroxy acids help to kind of dissolve that glue that's holding the top layer of skin cells. So improving texture and tone. And that one you would only want to use, like, once a week. The Ayurvedic, most people can use this one every day if they want to. The Kaolin, that one most people can use, two or three times a week. Like I said, the Resurfacing, if you were to use that one, you would only want to use it once a week.
You want to use that one in the evening and with an SPF during the day. So those are the exfoliants. Just keep in mind too, if you are using either the Revitalize Elixir or the Activated Night Serum, anything with that bioactive A-Complex in it, that's going to have sort of a resurfacing effect on the skin as well. So I just like to remind people of that because it's important to not over exfoliate. Especially if you tend to be more sensitive.
Okay, so questions about exfoliants. Or eye products. Or anything.
Okay. What else? Then we have masks. We have a few different ones in our line. The Illuminating Pearl Mask, I love. I just tell everybody to get it. Because I love it. This one is a hydrating brightening treatment mask. It's good for all skin types. It has this kind of luminosity and radiance to it that imparts on the skin from the crushed pearl powder that is in it. It also contains licorice root and uva ursi, which are the same two lightning and brightening ingredients that are in the Citrus Stem Cell Serum. It's kind of like this jelly texture, so it feels really nice and cool on the skin, so it's great for the morning if your skin is kind of tired and puffy, like mine is right now, ha.
It's also, if you're not super sensitive in your under eye area, you can use it as a little under eye mask, which is nice. This one you can't really overdo it, you could use it even every day if you wanted to and it'd probably be fine. The Coconut Honey Mask, that one's a good one for dry skin, a good one for sensitive skin, it's a very simple formula. It's like a balmy texture. A lot of people like that one in the dry winter months. The Purifying Mud Mask, most people probably don't need this one in this group, more for like oilier skin types, congestion prone, but I do love this one. And then the Charcoal Cacao Mask, again, probably not for this group, well actually Grace likes this one and you're sensitive so maybe I'm speaking too soon.
This one is very antioxidant rich. It's got turmeric. It's got cacao. But it's also got the activated coconut charcoal, so it's deeply purifying. This one you wouldn't want to use more than once a week. It is black from the coconut charcoal, so make sure that you use a dark towel with it, because it will stain your towels.
But those are the masks that we have. And then what else? Oh, I know.
Hair care. Yeah. Okay. So we have our Sweet Sunrise Shampoo and Conditioner. They can be used for all hair types. I'd say it's pretty moisturizing, nourishing. I believe it's got horsetail and nettle. I’m trying to remember what else is in that one because I tend to not cover the hair care all that much. I know it's horsetail and nettle. What else is in there? I think it's very strengthening. But it can be used for all hair types. They are color safe if you do color your hair. Let's see. Oh, and then the aloe in there as well. Then we have the Palo Santo Hair and Body Mist that can be used on the hair. You can even use our Rosemary Toning Mist in your hair if you get a little bit greasy. You can mist the toning mist near the roots because the rosemary is kind of purifying. And then Smoothing Hair Serum.
This is a newer product that we recently came out with. And this can be used for all hair types as well. If you have very thin hair, I would probably focus it more on the ends. It's solid. So it's a balmy kind of texture. But then you can just kind of, you know, it melts a little bit with the warmth of your hands.
And you can apply it to damp hair or you can apply it to dry hair. You can use it all over or like I said, you can just kind of focus it on the ends. Sometimes I'll use it like for my little flyaways up here that I’ve got. But that one is the Smoothing Hair Serum. That's pretty much it for our hair products, I think.
Customer: You answered the question I had about that hair serum, so.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Oh, okay. Perfect.
We used to have dry shampoo in Favorite Brands, but I don't know if we have it anymore. What else? Okay. I think that's it. Am I forgetting anything?
Oh, sunscreen. So we do have our Sun Love, which is our everyday sheer sunscreen. It is an SPF 20, so it's a non nano zinc oxide. It is a broad spectrum, so it does protect from UVA and UVB rays. It's reef safe, it's got pumpkin seed oil in it, it's got buriti fruit oil in it, so it is still really nourishing to the skin. It's a little bit more of a creamy consistency than any of our other facial moisturizers, but still contains those oils. And it can be used on its own, so you can use that as your daytime moisturizer instead of using a facial oil or you can use it over top of a facial oil, it's just personal preference, really.
Like I said, it's an SPF 20, so it's great for everyday, daily wear. I do always tell people if you're sweating or swimming or really laying out in the sun, then you are going to want to reapply. But yeah, that's the sunscreen. And I think that's it. I think we covered everything.
So questions about anything? Like, personal recommendations or questions about any of the products or anything at all?
No? If you guys think of questions, you can always email us. You can email [email protected]. That goes to our customer care team, but like I said, we're really small, so it'll get to me quickly if you want to put my name in there or Grace.
Any other questions, you guys, before we jump off?
Customer: It's fine to mix and match these then? Like if we have some products at home already but want to try some other things.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, like with other brands you mean?
Customer: no, no, I mean like with other products from the line, like if I now want three other things.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Oh, totally. Yes, you can mix and match any of them really. I feel like the only two in the whole line that we say not to mix and match, like I said, is the Revitalize Elixir with the Brighten Elixir.
Customer: Okay.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: And that's only that you don't want to apply them in the same application. But other than that, you can pick and choose anything that you like.
Any other questions?
All right. Okay. Well, thank you guys so much for joining the call. I hope that that was helpful and not just overwhelming listening to me talk about products for an hour. If you have any questions that you think of, like we said, you can just email us and I think that's it. Hope everybody has a great afternoon.
Customer: Thanks for your time. That was great.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, of course.
