Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Cool. Well, let's start to talk about some products. So, we typically recommend four products as your basic routine. And so, this is your morning routine, this is your evening routine, this is kind of just like the basic version of taking care of your skin. You can go a little bit slimmer. So, if you're someone who's either never used skin care products before, or you've used just like regular products, You know, dev bar soap or something like that, it can be a lot to then suddenly transition to four products. So you could do a little bit fewer. You could of course go broader. We've got masks and scrubs and eye products and lip balms and the whole thing. So you can really round out your routine. But we'll start by just talking about the four products. And so those four products are your cleanser, your toning mist, your serum, and your oil. Those, those four.
I'll start at the top and we'll talk about some cleansers. And I'm going to focus the call primarily on dry skin based on this group. So yeah, I think I've got a pretty good, little something for everybody here. So your first step, of course, is your cleanser. Your cleanser is primarily used to, like, cleanse skin and to prep it for the products that are going to follow. So the cleansers that I will mention, these are all like on the more mild side. They're pretty gentle. We do have another one called the citrus mint cleanser that I'm not going to spend too much time on. That one's primarily controlling oil and it doesn't sound like this group had oily skin is a big concern, so we won't get into that one. But I'll start with the Aloe Herb Cleanser, this one here. You'll see I've got two bottles because this does come in two size options. We've got the 50 milliliter and the 100 milliliter size option here. This cleanser, it's our, one of our original cleansers first of all, but it is really designed for a lot of different skin types. It's amazing for dry skin. It's amazing for sensitive skin. This is a really, really good one for somebody who's starting to see signs of aging specifically due to something like the parchee. Crepey, like tissue y feel to the skin. This can be super, super helpful in restoring some of that strength to the skin. The texture of this one is pretty, like, creamy.
It's almost like a light lotion. And the blend of this is, is, like, very, very gentle. We've got coconut oil, aloe vera juice, We've got several different herbs, lemon balm, lemon extract plantain all of these that are really helping to both soothe and strengthen skin. So the scent profile of this one is nice and citrusy with both the lemon and the lemon balm. You get kind of like citrus almost angle to it. And then, like I said, the feeling is very soft. This one does leave your skin very balanced, so it lends itself nicely to pretty much anyone. Even oilier skin types can use this. It's likely not the most ideal, but oilier skin types can use this one and still feel pretty good just because it really does a good job of balancing this oil to water. in the skin. And even though it's this very soft, very creamy feel, it doesn't leave a residue behind. So you don't really have anything like texture or tacky or anything that's left behind with this one. Even with coconut oil being an ingredient, the formulation of this, I, I often mentioned the coconut oil when I first saw this was like a concern of mine. I was really afraid it was going to be a really Oily feeling and there's, it's just such that the coconut oil is balanced really nicely with the aloe vera. So you really don't even feel it. There's like maybe a little bit of an edge of it when you have it on your hands or on your face, but it's really just providing this nourishment kind of in the background and aloe vera really is what sings in this product. You've got this beautiful kind of saponification that happens with the aloe vera. As part of this this particular cleanser. So again, that one is good for dry skin types. It is good for sensitive skin types. It's actually a really, really good one for sensitive skin types for signs of aging specifically due to kind of like that crepey texture. This is a really good one for that. And then if you aren't sure, so as we're talking and as you're hearing about the cleansers, if you're just like, oh, I just don't know the aloe herb cleanser is also kind of like foolproof. So if you're really just navigating not knowing which one to select, you can't really, you can't go wrong with the Aloe Herb Cleanser.
So that's that one. The next one is the Phytonutrient Cleanser. And actually, I'll back up a beat here and talk about the difference in the labeling because you'll notice this one has a black label, whereas this one has a tan label. We refer to these with the tan label as our signature collection and these with the black label as the Wild Alchemy Collection. The big difference between the two collections is that Wild Alchemy Collection tends to include more exotic ingredients, such as tropical fruits or harder to come by florals, things like that. It'll often have a more laborious craft process, so it'll incorporate things like a hydrosol versus just aloe vera juice or an essential oil like the hydrosol part. It'll include copper infused water in one of the products. So some of the ingredients have several more steps involved in creating the ingredients. And then lastly, there are typically larger bottles. So this one does not have another sizing option. This one, it just comes in the 100 milliliter size.
We don't have the 50 one. So that's, that's, you know, the differences between the two lines. Now swinging back to this particular cleanser, this is a really good one for more pronounced signs of aging. The texture of this one is a little bit richer than the Aloe Herb Cleanser. The Aloe Herb Cleanser has this kind of lotiony feel. This one's got a little bit more body to it. And one of the key ingredients is mango, mango seed butter in here, which really gives this kind of fatty feeling to the cleanser. It is also really great for dry skin. Really great for signs of aging. It's a little bit more kind of on the active side than the aloe herb cleanser. So it's not my first choice if someone's struggling with dry skin, that's also really sensitive or dry skin, that's really just starting to feel irritated, likely due to being dry. So for Skin types that are not too sensitive or in the realm of sensitive. I do really like this one for signs of aging. We do include in this cleanser our signature serum blend and that serum blend Is the anchor of all of our serums. It's this aloe vera juice Floral blend that we've included in this one, and it's very helpful for the appearance of fine lines One extra tip that I'll often offer is to make sure that you use this at least 30 seconds on the skin So that you're not just You know, putting it on and then rinsing it down the sink that you're really getting the benefits of the ingredients, but specifically the signature serum blend. That's part of this particular product. This one, it also has a little bit of malic acid and the malic acid is from apple extract, which can be helpful for the appearance of dark spors. And if I recall going through the surveys, there may have been one person, maybe two, who mentioned some darkness or, or the appearance of dark spors on the face. And so this can be a helpful one to really start that process of exfoliating just ever so slightly to, you know, to, to, to be part of the whole system of helping to fade the appearance of dark spors on the face. So that's that one.
Now one final one I'll mention. Yeah, that'll be the last cleanser. This is the Restorative Cleansing Oil. Now this one is a true oil blend. So with the other two, the way you use those is pretty straightforward. It's wet fingers, wet face. With this one, we actually recommend dry fingers on a dry face with this oil. This is a really awesome one for both dry skin and skin that has any variation of the occasional redness. So several of the oils in here, tea tree, lavender. There might be one other that is really, really helpful for skin that's irritated in some way. This is one that I'll recommend often for rebalancing the skin’s appearance if they are really dry. That really, like, uncomfortable, almost cystic breakout, this is, this is one I'll reach for that. This is also really awesome for the dry skin that just cannot get enough moisture. The person who is trying everything, they're applying their, you know, moisturizer several times a day. That type of degree of dryness, this is one that I'll recommend. And the reason is because this one, because it's a true oil blend, when you rinse it off, two things kind of happen. So first of all, the warm water can really help to penetrate super well into the skin. The second thing that happens is because it's that oil blend, it's not actually rinsing completely right. You still have a little bit of oil texture that will be left behind. So for my really dry, dry, like really dry, really sensitive customers, they kind of want that. They're just trying to get as much moisture as possible. If you're someone who's normal, normal to dry, even like dry, but you don't want quite as much of that residue left behind, you can either come in and use a second cleanser. That's an option. You can also just use a warm, wet washcloth, and that's another great way to remove it. If you're just splashing water on your face, it's really, you're really still going to have quite a bit left behind with that restorative cleansing oil. So that, yeah, that is that one. The scent of this one, I feel like it smells just kind of almost sweet. It's light and sweet. You can definitely smell some of the tea tree in it.
Yeah, it's really, it's a really nice one. This is also one that I'll recommend if I'm working with people who wear a lot of makeup. The other cleansers are ideal for just like day to day makeup, like basic, you know, a light foundation, or mineral foundation, or you know, a little bit of cheek color. Those are fine. If it's like a heavier layer or several layers of makeup or like an event, you know, like a wedding or something that has quite a bit of makeup the restorative cleansing oil is another good one to remove the makeup. And the way you use it is pretty much the same: apply wet hands or excuse me, dry hands, dry face, and then leave it on the skin for a few minutes. And then come in and massage and rinse off and all of that. So those are the cleansers. What questions have come up about cleansers?
Nothing. I feel like the cleansing and the toning mist is pretty straightforward. Serums are sometimes more complicated, I think, because we have so many, but.
Yeah, so let's get into toning mists. Now, all of our cleansers are pH balanced, so the toning mist is not serving the purpose of rebalancing the skin. Oftentimes, a toning mist will be recommended to bring skin back into a balanced state, but ours are already balanced. Likewise, none of our toning mists have any alcohol or, like, acids in them, salicylic glycolic, something like that. So they're not turning mists in the sense of being astringent or oil controlling from an acid type of a feel. Our toning mists, how they're working within this greater line are acting as this like burst of nutrition, burst of hydration, and this vehicle for the serum and the oil. So all of our serums will contain some variation of a humectant, and the humectant is an ingredient that essentially seeks out.
water water, moisture, something aqueous pulls it to it and plumps up. And so the effect is this very plumped look. And when you've already got this moisture in the skin, then it just is that much further on that, that plumping effect from the toning mist that you've, you've misted onto the skin. And how you use the toning mist You've got a little bit of variation here, so you can either mist skin generously, and then let it dry completely, and then apply your serum, and then apply your oil. That's one option. You can also mist skin generously and apply your serum and or oil while skin is still damp. And that latter tip, that's the number one I'll suggest if I'm working with someone who is experiencing skin still feeling really dry, especially if they're saying that skin feels really dry and the oil is just sitting on the surface of the skin. When we mist skin and apply the serum in the oil while it's wet, there's this almost like pulling effect that happens where it's driving these ingredients into the skin at a deeper level. And so it's kind of a game changer if you're not really getting the products to penetrate fully, having skin be a little bit damp and then apply the serum in the oil. And I'll also suggest if, you know, from working someone who really wants a bare bones line, let's say they're just using the aloe herb cleanser and like one of the facial oils that they even leave skin damp with a little bit of water. The toning mists are preferred, but if you're in a position where you don't have one and want to try it out, having skin damp with water is another way to just kind of feel it, feel what that feels like.
So I'm going to talk about two. The last one again is one that is primarily for controlling oil and it didn't seem like anyone was super worried about oil or breakouts or things like that. So the first one is the Neroli Toning Mist. this little guy here.
The neroli toning mist, the blend of this is super clean. We've got aloe vera juice, we've got neroli essential oil, and a little bit of aspen bark. These three ingredients. The formulation is perfectly balanced, so you have enough of this like a beautiful burst of hydration from the aloe vera juice. And there's a lovely soothing effect from the olive air juice. And then this very, kind of like, potent, fresh feel from the neroli. Neroli is the essential oil from the orange blossom, actually. So it's this kind of like, beautiful middle between being slightly citrusy and slightly floral. The, in its scent. Neroli is really helpful for the appearance of fine lines. So this is a really good one for dry skin, for sensitive skin.
The next one I think is a little bit better for really sensitive skin, but the aloe in this one, in the neroli, is helpful for just general, lightly sensitive skin. And skin that's starting to see signs of aging, specifically finer lines around, like, you know, across the forehead, around the eyes, I'll be concerned like that.
So that's this one and how you apply it. Like I mentioned, as you just missed skin generously, it's got a sprayer. You don't need to put it on a cotton ball. You don't need to like, you know, spray it on and then wipe it off.
The next one is the Botanical Hydration Mist with Immortelle, and you'll see that this is a larger bottle. This one is the Wild Alchemy version. This one is awesome for sensitive skin. This is so, so nice. The blend of this starts with two different floral hydrosols. And a hydrosol is this, like, watery runoff that happens when you create an essential oil via steam distillation. So the feel of a hydrosol is very, like, buttery, super soft, very smooth. It's not so far as being, like, oily. Or weighted like oil, it's just really, really soft. And so this is great for really dry skin too. The florals that we've chosen, we've got Rose and Immortelle. And both of these are widely known anti agers essentially. Immortelle is also known as Helichrysum. And it gets this Immortelle name from being like, The flower of immortality. This is like, you know, a widely known anti aging floral blend. And so that was one that we've chosen. So this is also a super helpful one for softening the appearance of fine lines, kind of strengthening skin. But from there, we formulated this with four different types of chamomile and frankincense. And so the blend of this is super helpful for skin that's irritated. And so who, if you're having like the red bumps on your nose inflammation, this is a really, really nice one. Especially if you're someone who experiences the appearance of occasional redness flare ups. It's a really, really good one to soothe the skin. So this is this one and you know how you use it is the same as the neroli. You mist skin generously and then you leave it on and you can either allow it to dry completely or you can leave skin damp and apply your serum and your oil while skin is still dry. Still damp. The scent of this one, it's kind of in between being a little bit herbal from the chamomile and a little bit floral with the florals. It's a really sweet blend. It's neither too far in one direction. It's not too, like, herbally chamomile-y and it's definitely not overpowering floral. It's right, right in that middle spot. So that is the toning mist. Those are the toning mists. Any questions about those?
Okay, cool. So let's get into serums and I think I will end up talking about all of them. We have six serums and they're all super unique, really different from the other. I'll start with the anti-aging serum. This little guy because this is just ever so tried and true. If you are someone who's ever tried a trial kit, you've tried this one.
If you shopped bestsellers, you've tried this one. We have found we've got a high purchase rate with this one, but we've also got a high repurchase rate. So we did actually launch it in a larger size option. This is 15 milliliters. This is 30, 30 milliliters. So we've got two size options in this one. This right now is the only one that comes in two size options. There's one that's coming but it's, we're not there yet with it. And I'll show you the texture of this one. It's kind of beautiful. Golden-y glows to it. It's on the thinner side. I feel like the consistency is probably quite like akin to aloe vera juice and just gently will run down the hand. The smell of this one is quite rosy. The Anti-Aging Serum, its primary like claim to fame is this beautiful hyaluronic acid that we have in it. So hyaluronic acid is a humectant. It's going to plump up the skin, it's going to find moisture, it's going to expand, but we've formulated that also with this really interesting floral blend.
And the floral blend, of course, contains rose. It's also got idol lice and buddha lit extract and Life everlasting flower. These flowers are really antioxidant, rich, really antioxidant, rich. And so they're really helping to keep skin nice and strong. And then the combination of that with the hyaluronic acid, you've got this instant plumping and then this kind of cumulative strengthening that happens. And I think that the, both the name of it and the hyaluronic acid both contribute to why it is such a big seller. I think. Because we've named this the Anti-Aging Serum, people know exactly what it's doing. And also it's quite effective with that hyaluronic acid. So it's definitely a popular one. From here I feel like they all get kind of nuanced. The serums are a little bit more focused. The Anti-Aging Serum is pretty broad in terms of who can use this. Any skin type can use this. It is going to be great for anyone, but it's awesome for skin that's dry, skin that's dry and like textured, like crepey appearance of fine lines, it's a really good one for the appearance of fine lines and yeah, taut, like giving this like taut lifted look to the skin with the hyaluronic acid.
The next one is called the Citrus Stem Cell Serum. And of all of our serums, this one is the least hydrating. It does still have some hyaluronic acid in it, but it's going to have the least amount of any of these. So with dryness being a big concern, it probably wouldn't be the first one I would recommend for you. However, this does have this really interesting combo of stem cells. All of our stem cells will be plant derived stem cells. Stem cells, which are So good for helping with deeper kinds of fissures in the skin, some more pronounced lines, and also loss of elasticity. This can be helpful for that. And then on the other side, this has a blend of uva ursi, licorice root, and amla berry, and the three of these are really good for the appearance of dark spors. And they work specifically on like fading spots, like fading areas that have any kind of damage or activity with the melanin that'll help to fade that there. But because it's the least hydrating, that's probably where I'll stop. Not too, too much more that we would say about it, but I think that for the combination of like dry skin whether that's dry skin that is experiencing loss of elasticity or dry skin that is working with the appearance of dark spors, I've got another one that is a better fit for you and I'll come to that one in a moment.
This one, this is a different one. This is the Probiotic Serum With Tremella. This is the probiotic serum with tremella. Now this is a really, really nice one for skin that is irritated and inflamed. sensitive, activated, all of these. Because of the probiotic serum with tremella, we've incorporated into this one this olive leaf ferment and this probiotic complex.
And what they're doing, especially what they're doing together, is kind of bringing skin back into balance. They work to feed the good bacteria on the skin. And so if skin's been thrown off, if your natural skin flora has been thrown off for Whatever reason, and that can be so broad. It could be hormones. It could be a really caustic skincare product. It could be a sunburn. It could be a new medication. There are a lot of reasons that your skin's kind of natural. Balance can be thrown off, but we can work to kind of bring that back into balance with the ingredients in this one. And then, of course, as the name suggests, we do have the tremella mushroom in here.
The tremella mushroom is essentially a variation of a humectant, in that it also finds moisture and plumps up. It's additionally like soothing. There's this really kind of comfortable soft soothing experience with the probiotic serum. So this is a good one for a lot of different things. Sensitivity is a big one. If again, you're somebody who's prone to the appearance of occasional redness or flare ups, this is a nice one to have. Especially when those flare ups happen or the little red bumps on the nose, you know, any kind of irritation, specifically if that was a newer occurrence, there could be some reason this is happening. Including this for the probiotic serum is interesting because it can kind of be this like, stepping stone onto your next serum. It can be a serum that you use, you know, indefinitely. It is lovely and nicely hydrating and all of that, but a lot of times customers will use this one long enough to bring skin back into a very comfortable place and then move on to another serum that might support whatever their next focus is.
So it's, it, it can be both, it can be either, or it, it can really just kind of meet you where your needs are. Now the next one, this is the Wild Fruit Serum, and as you can see, the label is the Wild Alchemy line. This is another one that's incredibly popular, and so we're actually in the works. to launch a larger size version of this. It's not out yet, but we've seen, like the Anti-Aging Serum, a high repurchase rate. So that larger bottle option will meet a lot of needs basically. But this one is kind of this like catch all in terms of addressing signs of aging. We do have hyaluronic acid here. So we've got this beautiful plumping effect that happens.
We also have uva ursi here and so the appearance of sunspots and things like that, the uva ursi can be helpful for. We've also got what's called kakadu plum. The kakadu plum is It's, it's got a lot of different vitamins and minerals, but one of the key ones is vitamin C so this is helping to just kind of even out the texture and the tone of the skin. We've also got stem cells in here. Stem cells We do have it in this Citrus Stem Cell Serum. They're also here. Stem cells are a really unique ingredient because the way they function is when you apply them especially when they're suspended in something that's nice and aqueous, like either a water or an aloe vera juice, like this one is, they are able to seep into these lower layers of the skin and they kind of rest next to your own skin. Then as your skin is coming up to the surface, your skin will emulate the behavior of the stem cell. There's this kind of training that happens in utilizing stem cells. Again, ours are all plant derived. We don't use any other variation. There are a lot of variations of sourcing, but ours are all plant derived to really just kind of restore a lot of strength and lift to the skin. So stem cells, again, are really helpful for loss of elasticity, really helpful for more like a deeper line experience more than just the surface lines. Stem cells can be really supportive for those. The scent of this one, I didn't talk about the scents of the others. The scent of this one is kind of just like a tropical fruit.
I think the blend of the fruits in this are really, really carrying in the scent of it. You've got this nice kind of light fruity scent to it.
So this is the CBD, the Activated CBD Serum. I'll show you the consistency here. It's a little richer. So whereas with the other serums and all of the other serums who, that I've listed so far, will have that same kind of consistency, those kind of run down the hand. This activated CBD serum, it's just got a little bit more body to it. You can kind of see it as tapping it. It's just creamier than the others which of course is kind of one of the pros of this, this particular product is great for dry skin. But as the name suggests, we do have CBD in this product. That's awesome for several reasons. CBD works with your own endocannabinoid system. Whether you're doing like a topical or a supplement, it works as this kind of triage to seek out and address areas that are needing additional support.
With skin, that can be anything from the far end of the extreme of like rosacea flare ups or something that's activated both sensitive or just irritated. Or it could be the more mild kind of subtle experience of just maintaining this kind of strength and resiliency of the skin. So this is the super helpful ingredient for Persons who are starting to experience changes in the skin, whether that's the appearance of fine lines or loss of elasticity anything where the skin is starting to slow down a little bit, the CBD can kind of seek that out and help to maintain some of that timeline a little bit more.
We do use both a fat soluble and a water soluble CBD and that is unique to this product. I've yet to see another serum that has both the fat and the water soluble. The benefit of that, you've, you've got this instant absorption with the water soluble aspect of the CBD. This is able to get into the skin and to get into the skin quickly.
Then you've got this kind of cumulative effect that happens with the fat soluble. So the fat soluble is going to work with your skin's own oil, or, you know, this kind of what we call the acid mantle, this fatty layer on the surface of the skin to have this slow release. Into the skin where you've got this experience of the CBD happening over time. So you've got this both instant effect, this very quick effect and then this kind of prolonged effect from the CBD. We could stop there and it's an awesome product, but that beautiful body that has a really thick, very rich consistency comes from the formulation around the CBD So we did craft this one, of course, to be great for dry skin. That's a lot of where that texture comes from. That really kind of creamy texture comes from. We do have both hyaluronic acid and tremella mushroom in this one. So it's very great for the appearance of fine lines or dry skin, crepey skin, things like that. We also included kind of like top level antioxidants. So we've got astaxanthin, we've got superoxide dismutase. Both of those are really helpful for maintaining the strength of the skin and the resiliency of the skin. This one, because it is a CBD product, When you go to shop for it, what'll happen is you'll click on the link and it'll actually take you to its own site and that is designed that way. We aren't able to retail it through our regular site in the U. S. at this point because Essentially because that's how they manage the legality around the CBD. There isn't really a strong preference for one to be used in the morning or evening.
This last one here, the Activated Night Serum, is, as the name suggests, designed for overnight wear. The reason behind that is a little bit twofold. So first and foremost, the key ingredient in this is what's called the bioactive A complex. This bioactive complex is awesome. It's essentially our version of a retinol. When we crafted this, we were looking for this ingredient. Basically, we really, really wanted something that was and it's safe for the body at any point in time. This product and many of our products, but this one specifically is what's called made safe certified. And the made safe certification process is a third party certification process, basically where we submit a lot of documents. It's like 15 to 20 documents per ingredient, per product. Then the final formulation and then they get the product and they independently test the product to make sure it's void of upwards of 8000 toxins, everything from widely known carcinogens to potential toxic metals to really anything that might be of concern. And so what we were looking for a retinal alternative we looked into other common ones but Bacucanol's one, there's, there's another variation that weren't, we just didn't, we weren't able to find any variation that we could have certified as made safe and this one, this is a bioactive A complex is made safe and still offers that kind of you know, very lifted, very taut very exfoliated effect that a retinol will provide. So we're very proud of this one. We really, really love this one. Because it is that retinol alternative though, it does still provide or, you know, have the effect of being a little bit more photosensitive. So we don't really prefer this one during the day. More than once I've been asked if you can wear it during the day, and technically you can. I would just be very, very cautious to not wear it if you're going to be out in the sun. Even a sunscreen, I, I just wouldn't mess with it if you'd, if you can help it. If you're in a pinch, you can and then make sure you put your sun love on and all that. But it's great overnight aside from just the bioactive a, the formulation, this one again is similar in consistency to the CBD serum.
The formulation is designed to be really rich and creamy. We wanted it to still give you that very like exfoliated feel, but then immediately be nourished, immediately be kind of replenished. So skin is really smoothed and really kind of hot the next morning. No, it's a night serum. How many nights in a row you use it really comes down to your skin.
So my skin, it's normal to dry, sometimes sensitive. I tend to be able to wear this about three nights in a row. And then my skin starts to really look a little bit thinned. My cheeks will get a little bit red. I never flake and it's never uncomfortable. It's just, I can tell that it's. It's time to take a break from it. So I do about three nights in a row and then I'll use one of the other serums for a couple nights and then come back to this one. But I know a lot of clients, I've got several coworkers who use it nightly without any issue. So again, this is kind of like letting your skin be your guide in situations where you might be able to use it nightly or you might be able to do it at night. You know, a couple nights and then take a break from it. Yeah, so, that is the activated night serum. Those, that's the final serum of our serums. What questions have come up with these? Because I know these are less straightforward potentially than the other, the cleanser and the toning mist.
Awesome. Anyone have any concerns or requests for a personal recommendation? Sometimes as you're building your routine, you can know which cleanser and which toning mist and then the serum can be tricky. So is there any one needing support there? Okay, cool. Well, let's get into facial oils. Grace Chat look good?
Customer: Do you need to switch your serum from time to time and how often do you need to do that?
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: That's a really good question. Not necessarily. You can use any of them indefinitely and they're fine, but I do kind of feel like there's almost like a supplement when you switch to another one, there's this fresh experience when your skin's learning how to integrate that or feel that one.
And how frequently that could be, I would say anywhere from three months to six months. You know, when your skin's kind of gotten used to one of the serums. It's not necessarily True for everyone, but I definitely will mix it up after a while. I think that my skin takes really quickly to a new serum. Even if it's not brand new, but when I haven't used it in a while, so. Yeah, that's, that's kind of the timeline I would offer for that.
So, before I get into, like, the, your, your daily facial oils, I do want to mention this one. This is the Herbal Facial Oil for Oily Skin. Specifically for anyone who has redness, bumps, breakouts, things like that. You know, the red bumps on the nose that someone had mentioned. This is a good one, both for oily skin, I mean it's designed as an oily skin oil, but also it's really good to spot treat. It's a really good one if you're somebody who has just like an occasional breakout to have. I really have been trying to get us to sell this in a rollerball. We aren't right now, but I think we should. So I wanted to just get that out of the way.
The first facial oil I will mention is the Anti-Aging Facial Oil. And this is another very classic product. You'll see this one is in two sizes, the smaller and the larger. It's just. So rich. It is so lovely. I used to not really care for it. When I first started using the line years ago, it was years before I even worked here, because like we carried it at our spa.
I didn't like it very much because it was so rich and now I know better. I think now I just have a better relationship with it. how much oil to apply and how to apply it than I did at the time. The anchor of this one is an organic jojoba. Jojoba, it mimics skin's natural oil production really closely. Or skin's natural oil, excuse me it's close in weight and close in kind of molecule size. For really dry skin types, applying this oil, your body already kind of knows how to integrate this one. It provides this really supple layer to the skin that just looks very youthful and very healthy.
The smell of this one is, it smells a lot like the jojoba oil, but you've got a little bit of the herbs in this too. A little bit of the herbs. We've used in here, chia seed, broccoli seed goji berry, plantain in this one too, All of these ingredients are helping to really kind of restore and strengthen skin. So this is a great one for dry skin, of course, which I mentioned, but also skin that's starting to see like a drooping or this like depletion. That's just like not looking very full or vibrant or healthy anymore. This is a great one for that. And how we formulate our oils, we start with our anchor oil, and then we steep at a low heat the oil with whatever herbs, seeds, or plants. Whatever we're stepping into that at this low heat, it then gets strained and then bottled. And that's, that's kind of the general, general variation of how we craft our oils.
This next one, this is the Rejuvenating Facial Oil. This is actually a slightly different craft process. So, When we were creating this one, and it is part of the wild alchemy collection, we essentially wanted to have a facial oil that was like max level potent that we could create, like how extreme can we go and still be able to use it morning and evening, like still be able to comfortably use it and not, not be too active for the face. So with this one, what we've done Is we've taken an organic jojoba again, and then we've taken these beautiful herbs. We've got blue tansy. We've got a butterfly pea flower. The butterfly pea flower was delicious. Mongongo seed oil black cumin seed oil. They've been steeped into the product. Then we've gone through the straining process. But then we've taken extracts and added it directly into the blend. Of course, again, the attention behind adding that directly into the blend versus just steeping it into the oil is to uplevel the, like how active, how potent this facial oil is versus just having it in the steeped blend. So the final feel of this one, it's slightly lighter than the anti aging, but just by a hair, you still have a lot of that body. This is really, really nice for more pronounced signs of aging. It is super softening on the skin. So there's a really quick turnaround with the appearance of fine lines.
The blue tansy and the butterfly pea flower are both really, really soothing to the skin. But the blend of this also is really high on its antioxidant level. And so this one specifically, it's pretty common to have like a little bit of a turnaround when your skin adjusts to it. And typically what that looks like is like small little white heads in the really thin skinned areas. And so those will be like sides of the nose under the nose, maybe sides of the mouth, sometimes like under kind of on the chin. But just areas that are really thin skinned and that shouldn't last more than two weeks. If it's lasting more than two weeks, it's usually not so bad. Like a specific, it's like you're reacting to something.
It's not just like your skin's kind of adjusting. But it can be on the potent side. And so this is another one, the rejuvenating that's not uncommon to have an alternative. And that might look like you do a pump of this one, well, probably half a pump of one and half a pump of the other together or it might look like you do this one in the morning and this one in the evening just some, some kind of alternate to have in your in your facial oil routine.
And then the last. Like facial oil, I'll mention it's, it's kind of a hybrid of an oil and a sunscreen, our Sun Love.
And I like to mention it with the oils, because if your skin is normal or normal to dry, oftentimes you're able to get away with using this one as your morning moisturizer and using a facial oil in the evening. Now that's not a bad thing. A blanket truth. Some skin types are quite dry and this isn't quite enough moisture for them and so they still will use a little bit of their oil and then this but it, it is an option to do it that way. Now this of course is our sunscreen product. We do use a non nano zinc oxide, and so we've got this zinc oxide, but there's no risk of this getting into the body. This is a reef safe sunscreen, and so, you know, all streams kind of lead back to the ocean. We're still protecting the coral reef with this product. And we do, we do call this our everyday sheer sunscreen. Zinc oxide has this reputation for being really kind of like chalky and really gloppy, like really heavy white. And so we were really pleased with this one. I was actually part of the formulation team with this one and we were super stoked because the feel of this one when you apply it, you absolutely will have a slight white cast, but that fades so quickly and then it looks just like very healthy, very radiant skin. And we do have different kinds of seed oils and natural oils in here that give it that really rich, moisturizing feel to it. Broody fruit and pumpkin seed are both options. But yeah, then you've got this really lovely sun protection product. And it's, it's quite a great one. It's not waterproof. That's a question I'll get a lot of with because it's a natural sunscreen. There really isn't, we haven't found an ingredient that would keep it on the skin totally submerged under water. And so if you're actually swimming or if you're like running a half marathon and you're sweating profusely you may either want to reapply frequently or invest in a sunscreen that might suit that need a little bit better. Cause, cause this one is not waterproof. But yeah that that would be your final step whether you're using your facial oil or whether using that in place of your facial oil before you went out into the world. I'm going to take just a moment and talk about two eye products and then we'll get in if we have any questions or get into masks and scrubs and things like that.
So the first eye product is the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum. And this is a pretty true serum as far as consistency and function. It's got a lot of ceramides and a lot of peptides in here. And both of those are what's like, they're like part of different protein chains. And so when skin starts to break down including ceramides or peptides into the you know, this topical treatment can be helpful for maintaining this like strength of these, these protein chains.
And so this is a really nice one for more pronounced lines around the eyes. The fruit ceramide eye serum is really helpful for yeah, more pronounced lines, deeper crow's feet, things like that. You can also use either of these, but, but speaking to this one on the lip both of these are eye products, but they're really just designed for super thin skin.
And so if you're someone who has, you know, a history of like drinking through a straw or anything that would cause the fissures of the lines on the lip, this is a really helpful one for that concern. Where this fits in your routine, you will want to apply this either right before or right after your facial serum. It doesn't super matter which way you go with that one, but either right before or right after to, to keep it close to that serum step in your routine.
The next one, this is the Anti-Aging Eye Cream. And I am a huge fan of this one. I'm a fan of all of our products, but this has a special place in my heart. I swore by this one for years before I even worked for the brand. And that was even at a point in time where I was working with images and skinceuticals and different brands of products, including their eye creams, because I noticed such a profound difference with puffiness under the eyes with this one.
This does have cucumber distillate. It also has CoQ10 and both of those can be helpful for puffy puffed up areas under the eyes. But we've also got stem cells in here. So while we're like, you know, nourishing the eye area, helping to strengthen the eye area, the stem cells are super supportive for that step as well. And this one, you would want to apply this either right before or right after your facial oil. And making sure that your, your sunscreen, if you're using your sunscreen is your final step. So if you're doing it right, if you typically do it right after your oil, maybe do it right before your sun love, because we want sunscreen to be our last. Last step in our routine there. So yeah, those are the two eye cream products. Now we've got a good amount of time still. And so I can talk about eye creams and, or not eye creams, exfoliants and masks and the like, but I want to see what questions have come up for us, if anything. So far. All right, cool. Well, I must just be super thorough. And Yeah,
Customer: Sorry. It took me a minute to formulate it. If you are interested in both Something that will help with lines around the eyes But also that real puffiness does the aging eye cream kind of help with both or is it really just more of the puffiness?
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: It definitely helps with both. Yeah Yeah, I typically say with the eye products, if you, if you're leaning towards one, if you're just not sure which one to go with, go with the eye cream, because it's going to be addressing like a lot of different things, whereas the eye serum's pretty focused. But yeah, I would do the eye cream in that instance.
Customer: Got it. Okay.
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Perfect. Other questions? Grace, how's chat look? Looking good? Thumbs up? Cool. Cool, cool, cool. Well let's take a few moments and talk about some scrubs. And at least one mask, and then we'll get the coupon code, and we might end early, and that is lovely. Scrub wise, so as far as exfoliants, excuse me, exfoliants go, we do have a couple options.
We've got this one, this is the Kaolin Micro Exfoliant. We've also got one that's in a jar that I don't have on my desk right now. Kind of the Ayurvedic facial scrub. And I think either of these could be good for the skin types that have been described here. The Ayurvedic facial scrub is much gentler, so it's this jar that is almost like a loose sleeved tea.
It's more finely ground than a loose leaf tea, but it's this blend of herbs. It's so nice. It's very mineralizing on the skin. So when you use the Ayurvedic facial scrub, your skin is just super, super soft. And because it's that loose powder, you shake a little bit into your hand. I typically will get my fingers wet and then just let the water run off into the palm of my hand and let that be what kind of I create the consistency with but you can really customize it.
So you can have less water and more of a kind of textured scrub. It could do more water and have more of a creamier, softer scrub. We can kind of control the consistency there and then you apply it to the skin, right? And then you can immediately buff it, or you can let it sit on the skin for however long, sometimes I'll let it sit on the skin for 20 minutes. It's almost like a mask. And then come in and rinse it. And it just is that much softer doing it that way. That's probably the number one for really sensitive skin, the way it is very gently exfoliating, and then also providing this immediate kind of complement of minerals to strengthen the skin. The next one, though, is the kaolin micro exfoliant.
And this is in an aluminum tube, but this is a BPA free lined aluminum, so there's no risk of the leaching of the aluminum into the product. And the texture of this one, so if someone said, like, a facial scrub, likely the consistency of this is what might come to mind. Like, it's got a little bit of this, like, full body to it, but then it's really, really textured.
And we use crushed bamboo in this to provide that really kind of polished feel. And polished is a good word for how skin feels when you've rinsed it off. It's, it's just, you know, nice and buffed, very polished, super smoothed out. And this one is a little bit more textured. And so they're really, really sensitive skin types. It might be too much for your skin. But you also can thin it out. So you could do a little squeeze of it and then you know, move a little bit of water up into it. You can also mix this one into any of the cleansers. I haven't tried it in the restorative cleansing oil. So that one might not be a great compliment for it, but the aloe herb cleanser, the phytonutrient cleanser, both of those are awesome. And that's a great way to still be able to use this exfoliant while still you know, supporting your skin's sensitivity or doing it in just a little bit of a gentler way.
And then mask wise, the most ideal one for really, really dry skin. This is the Coconut Honey Mask. I'll show you the consistency here. It's got that almost like butter look to it. Because coconut oil is a key ingredient in this one, the texture can be slightly varied. So if you're warmer, if it's warmer where you are, it might be a little bit thinner. But, usually not too much. The blend of this one includes. Coconut oil and honey, which are the key anchor ingredients, and then we do have beeswax, which is kind of supporting the consistency of it and the blend of it as well as a little bit of vanilla, and vanilla is a really interesting one because it is really, really antioxidant rich and helpful for the appearance of fine lines but I feel like that when I mentioned vanilla, a common question people ask is like, can you eat this?
And the answer is technically you can, but also you don't need to, you can just get it and use it on your face. But yeah, it would be safe to consume if you were really needing, needing to consume it. But yeah, that was super, super nutritious, really dry skin loves the coconut honey mask. It is a popular one for dry skin and in the winter time.
One other one that I'll mention is the Illuminating Pearl Mask. And I'll show you guys this one. It's, it's more, it's not quite as rich and thick as the coconut honey. It's a little bit, I don't know, thinner, maybe. Smells really yummy. The color of that one can vary. It can be anywhere from like a light purple all the way to this kind of gray or color.
And this is a really good one for, Almost any skin type, dry skin, sensitive skin, we do have honey in this one so it's really nutritious. Then we've got turmeric in here, which can be super anti-inflammatory, really good to help soothe skin that's super active. But the star ingredient here is the crushed pearl powder. that crushed pearl powder. When you rinse that off, your skin is absolutely glowing. It just looks so radiant. That particular product is the number one product I'm suggesting for weddings.
Customer: sorry for interrupting. Can I just ask you about shipping to Canada in Toronto?
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, we do ship to Canada. And the pricing of that will vary a little bit. We do include taxes and duties on the front end, so then you aren't asked to pay them when you receive your order. But the amount, it can vary kind of a little bit where you are. And the best way to be able to see exactly is to go through the steps, put your order in, maybe don't submit it finally, but like go all the way to see what the shipping cost would be. And that'll, that'll let you see what that total would be.
Customer: Yeah, the price is a bit outrageous, or are they reasonable? Because often they are from the States. And also you have the conversion, right? You have the conversion.
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, there is a conversion. And the pricing, I mean, I, I don't know what it converts to. It can be anywhere from like 15 USD all the way up to 25 or 35 USD. And I don't know exactly what, I mean, I assume it's the distance it's traveling. And so it might depend on where you are. But I don't know exactly. What might break that down? But if you're getting in there and you're, you know, you're working to place your order and you're having any concerns about the pricing, you can definitely contact us at the customer support and we can see what is going on. Or if we can alleviate it at all for you. One thing to note, though, unfortunately, we aren't able to get CBD serum to Canada, just with the laws between the U. S. And Pretty much every country outside of the U. S., we aren't able to ship that across the border. So that is a product that I couldn't, we wouldn't be able to send you, but everything else we are able to retail in Canada.
Customer: Okay, thank you. Yeah. Yep, yep, yep.
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Perfect.
Customer: Any other questions?
I have a question. Yeah. I don't know if you went over this, but do you recommend which cleanser do you recommend for the appearance of dark spots?
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, the Phytonutrient Cleanser. Okay. Yeah, it's got a little bit of malic acid, which can be helpful in just the entire process of helping fade the appearance of dark spots.
It's not so much that you're going to feel like skin is stripped. It's definitely not like deeply exfoliating the skin, but it's just a slight amount as part of that blend. So that would be the one that I would recommend if that's the biggest concern of yours.
Customer: Yeah. Okay. Thank you.
Kate – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Perfect. Okay, awesome. Well I think at this point we can go ahead and close out the call. Thanks everyone!
