Welcome the newest addition to our Wild Alchemy Collection—the Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant!
Meet the Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant
Intense yet lightweight, this at-home resurfacing facial exfoliant was created to exfoliate, smooth, and renew the look of dull skin while elevating your skin care ritual. Honey-derived lactic acid targets the look of dark spots and wrinkles, while cooling notes of cucumber and blue tansy promote a soothing, herbaceous scent. It leaves your skin smooth, luminous, and clear, without dryness or irritation.
This is a safe and potent formulation, thanks to its most unique and active component: lactic acid derived from honey. It can effectively soften the look of skin, revitalizing it for a healthy surface. We asked our lead formulator, Bunnie, to weigh in:
“Lactic acid is the safest, most non-irritating, non-drying (in fact, naturally hydrating) of all the AHA’s,” she says. “It is also the most non-damaging of AHA’s to the skin’s deeper layers… unlike glycolic acid, for example, which can actually accelerate aging in skin. Most lactic acid is derived from dairy products, while ours has a greater mass advantage being derived from honey instead.”
The Wild Alchemy Collection
Our Wild Alchemy Collection was designed to add a touch of luxury to our signature line, courtesy of organic and wildcrafted ingredients that have been globally sourced and ethically harvested. They are high-performance elixirs that are decadent, effective, and everything in between.
What makes it luxury?
This specialty collection is a culmination of our experiments and our experience—not only with organic, biocompatible formulas designed in-house, but also with the worldwide growers who harvest the wildcrafted, nutrient-dense ingredients we enhance.
Each ingredient is chosen not only for its individual high-performance properties and kinship to environment and community, but also for its synergy with other plants, your pores, and the planet. We are harnessing sun, soil, sea—and giving it back to skin.
Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant Ingredients
Beyond its gorgeous array of all-natural ingredients like organic aloe vera, ultra-hydrating hyaluronic acid, and neroli essential oil, the Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant boasts a trio of luxe, high-performance ingredients. They include:
Honey-Derived Lactic Acid
A natural, safe, and effective ingredient for dull and uneven skin, our honey-derived lactic acid targets the look of dark spots and wrinkles, renewing the skin’s appearance for a smoother, brighter complexion.
Cucumber Extract
Cucumbers are a natural moisturizer because of their high water content. This uniquely cooling, silica-rich extract can soothe and tame the feeling of sensitivities while moisturizing, fortifying, and nourishing the skin deeply.
Blue Tansy
A delicate yet impactful botanical for calm, revitalized skin. This luxe essential oil is paired with a subtle touch of citrus-tinged neroli oil for a sweetly herbaceous sensory experience.
How to Resurface Facial Skin at Home
We recommend nighttime usage, once or twice a week. Simply apply 3-4 pumps to your face, avoiding the eyes (or a bit more, if you’re covering your neck and chest). Leave it on for 3-5 minutes and allow its viscous, gel-like texture to absorb into the skin.
You may feel a tingling sensation or nothing at all; it’s different for everyone. And don’t worry about peeling of any kind—this treatment is gentle and incredibly effective.
After allowing the Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant to penetrate into your skin, rinse with water and your preferred cleanser. To rebalance the pH of your skin, apply a toning mist of your choice along with your favorite serum and facial oil. (It even works beautifully with a layer of our Illuminating Pearl Mask afterward, though this treatment is incredibly brightening on its own!)
For future uses, if additional time is preferred, leave on for up to 10 minutes. And be sure to avoid sun exposure for 1-2 days after use.
“The concern with any product containing any AHA is that the pH value that must be present in order for the AHA to be active must be lower than typical products,” Bunnie explains. “The pH must be less than 4.0. This is rather acidic and could be harmful in different ways if not used properly. This is the reason that most AHA peels are left on the skin for only minutes at a time, and then neutralized with a pH-balanced product—in order not to damage or cause skin irritation.”
Some additional advice? If you have sensitive skin, we highly recommend patch testing. Let it sit for 1 to 2 minutes and remove immediately if you have a reaction such as bumps or redness.
