If money was no object what would you be doing (would it be exactly what you are already doing)?
Oooo-la-la! This is juicy isn’t it? I would take my work on the road, I would be location independent and spend a lot of time coaching beach side. I am pretty certain I would have a bit more of the quiet, alone I require for staying balanced because I would create an amazing school for my kids and their friends with teachers who allow them to flourish as their true selves.
And I’m actually working on the coaching beach side right now! Wouldn’t that be beautiful?
What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty to me is our shine, our inner glow that lights up our spirit. I have worked most of my life to free myself of the belief that beauty is what you see in magazines or on the movie screens. Once I released myself from that place I was able to not just see, but feel my own beauty. Beauty is confidence and passion and desire. It is our divinity and wisdom. It is our choices that make us feel better that lead us to our beauty.
What makes you feel beautiful?
As I was thinking about this question I asked my 9 year old daughter the question. She said, “when I’m being me.” Then I asked my 6 year old son what it makes him feel handsome. His reply, “my awesomeness.” They don’t yet know anything other than radiating their truth and knowing that is their beauty. Our truth, which most of us move away from is how we feel beautiful. The truth is in our purpose, our love for ourselves, our gratitude practice, our style and preferences. Beauty can be in washing our face at night, looking at our lines and color and shape and feeling grateful for our physical body. We spend so much time feeling bad about our bodies, messages coming at us that we are not enough, we must be different. Our beauty lies within our truth, which is knowing that we are enough. (And, yes, I know this takes work, it is a journey.)
What’s your favorite beauty secret or tip?
As far as dressing myself, I have a few pieces that are physical representations of how I feel inside. When I put on my “magic ring” a big chalcedony stone that represents healing and creativity I feel beautiful. When I wear my gray boots with a little heel on them, that are crazy comfortable, I feel strong and powerful and graceful. When I lounge around the house in yoga pants and comfy cotton shirts I place a Mala around my neck to connect me to the mantras I have infused inside of it.
For my inner beauty I drink lots of lemon water. I say affirmations daily. I don’t wear make-up every day, I allow days for my skin to breathe. I use organic products on my face and in my home. Raw chocolate and broccoli seem to help too!
How does Annmarie’s mission fit into your lifestyle?
Women who are changing the world with their voice and passion are part of my joy. As we start to unite together and realize that our voices and missions work together, exponentially creating change and bringing joy and health, I believe our world will shift. I feel it happening. I am so proud of the women who are a part of this shift.
