Having a regular skin care routine can do worlds for your complexion. Your skin gets used to being washed and moisturized at a certain time each day. And if you're using products with nourishing, organic ingredients, your skin will get better with time and regular use.
Hopefully your routine is something you look forward to every morning and night. It helps to have products with aromatheraputic benefits!
A lot of people ask us about Annmarie's skin care routine and want to know how she keeps her skin so beautiful. She was happy to share it. It's really the result of lots of information she has gleaned from skin care experts over the years.
Of course, having two kids, there are days that she just washes her face and goes to bed. But most of the time, she follows this anti-aging skin care routine. Using this routine has helped her keep her skin super moisturized and radiant looking, every day.
We asked Annmarie to give us the step by step of her morning and night routine. Here's what she said:
Annmarie's Skin Care Routine
Step 1
I use a dry skin brush every morning on my body and face. When brushing the face, I make sure to brush lightly and avoid my eyes. Dry skin brushing is a great way to exfoliate.
Step 2
After I get out of the shower, I use a generous amount of my Coconut Body Oil while my skin is damp (it absorbs better this way), and massage it all over my body so it penetrates deeply into my skin. Then I pat myself dry.
Step 3
I use 3 pumps of my Aloe Herb Cleanser mixed with ½ teaspoon of the Ayurvedic Facial Scrub and a few drops of water (until it forms a wet paste). I massage this mixture on my face for about a minute (make sure to take a deep breath to experience this wildly herbal scent!) then I rinse with clean water. I repeat an affirmation here while I’m doing this, since it’s a great time to connect with myself. Sometimes it’s “I am beautiful,” or other times, “I am confident.” Give yourself whatever positive message you need that day!
If you have dry, clogged, or mature skin, you can replace the Ayurvedic scrub with my Kaolin Micro Exfoliant.
Step 4
After I pat my face dry, I give it a spritz with my Neroli Toning Mist. Two good sprays should do it! I love the smell of this every time I use it. It is so energizing and calming at the same time.
Step 5
I use one pump of my Anti-Aging Serum and massage it into my face. For mature skin (or on days when your skin needs it), you can do 2 or more pumps.
Step 6
I do 2-3 pumps of either my Anti-Aging Facial Oil or Normal Oil into my hand, then use my fingers to dab it evenly onto my face, avoiding my eyes. A little goes a long way! (That’s another reason we love facial oils.)
I switch oils depending on the time of year and how my skin is feeling that day. When it’s dry, I use the Anti-Aging Facial Oil, but normally I stick with the Herbal Facial Oil for Normal and Combination Skin. If your skin is more on the oily side, you may want to use my Herbal Facial Oil for Oily Skin.
Step 7
Once a week I apply my Purifying Mud Mask, leave it on for 10 minutes, then wash it off. I follow with the Coconut Honey Mask for another 10-15 minutes while I cozy up with a good book (or chase my little ones around). This keeps my skin super soft and hydrated all week long! If your skin is more dry, you may want to do this routine more often. If you have oily skin, you can skip the Coconut Honey Mask. After you use the Purifying Mud Mask, which draws out oils and debris from your pores, you can follow with your favorite serum and facial oil.
Seven steps might seem like more time than you want to spend in the bathroom (or wherever you do your beauty rituals), but I promise it only takes a few minutes, and the reward far outweighs the time.
My skin stays glowing and radiant all the time, and people tell me on a regular basis. I tell them it’s not me, it’s nature! Lol. Using natural products has really transformed my skin. I have a feeling that you’ll find out that the same thing happens to you!
By the Way, Great Skin Isn’t Only About the Products…
Here are some extra tips that you can use to make sure you treat your skin wonderfully, from the inside out!
- Drink about ½ your body weight in ounces of filtered water each day.
- Eat lots of water-rich raw foods like watermelon, green smoothies, green juices, and salads.
- Exercise 3-4 times a week.
- Get 8-10 hours a night of good sleep.
- Get outside daily to take in the sunshine and fresh air.
- Smile.
- Spend time with friends and laugh!
You’ve probably heard some or all of these tips before. Putting them into practice has helped lots of women just like you feel great about the way they look!

What do you use for sunscreen and when do u apply it. I am in Florida
Annmarie Skin Care
We actually have our Sun Love, but we’re waiting on our newest formula to be complete.
Badger Balm is a wonderful brand to work with if you need it right away.
I would suggest putting it on right after your daily routine, mixing it with our makeup or putting it underneath of your own makeup. You want to reapply it every couple of hours in the sun.

Question – do I use the masks after step 6, or in between steps 3 and 4?
Thank you ????
Annmarie Skin Care
When you do a mask, you’ll want to do it after cleansing but before applying product to your face 🙂

Does dry brushing disturb the skin biome?
Annmarie Skin Care
Hi Carol,
We’re not sure about the science on what dry brushing does for the skin biome but since skin brushing doesn’t use chemicals at all, it won’t kill the helpful bacteria on your skin. It’s a method of exfoliation, which we know to be stimulating and positive for the health of the skin.

Hi, and Thanks.
As you’ve probably noticed my two entries onto the blog. since writing to
you I have read a little more and found that the Owner has some remarkable
credentials including she was one of the original authors of Australian
Organic Certification and has a very personal reason why she started the
brands “KuuSh and iRaw.
Being she is a dedicated Vegan, and from what I’ve gathered has a real
hatred towards chemicals, although a chemist (academically) she has
produced her products in a method which is extremely well guarded because
of the Fact numerous other (So-Called) natural skin Care brands have tried
to replicate and or steal the process.
Quite fascinating is your industry.
I understand you are a busy people but I think it would be nice if you made
friends, they seem to be after the same thing you are. They are on
instagram and naturally facebook.
Thank you
David

Hi, Before bed, I wash my face and use all the cleansers to remove the ‘day’.
about once a week or every two weeks, I go to bed with a completely washed face with no oils or creams to allow the skin to breathe!
However, in the morning, I usually only rinse and wash my face with plenty of water. Sometimes, depending on the weather -I.e. if it is warmer – I will use a cleanser. But I feel that I do not want to completely strip my face of the good oils it secretes in the night. Most of the time, I can still feel the moisture from what I applied the night before.
If I am going out for an occasion I do everything! Even if it is dinner etc.
A lot of this is also intuition of what feels good for the skin at any given moment. What the skin is wanting. In scorching hot weather, more washing may be required and less oil sometimes feels good while in winter, the other way around… Xx 🙂

Which dry brushes do you recommend? I’d like a separate one for face and body. Thanks! 🙂

Yep, I’m also keen to learn what I should be doing at night for skin care. I’ve read that you should just cleanse and tone, not moisturize, otherwise your skin gets lazy and stops ‘moisturizing’ itself! Any advice gratefully received ☺

Do you repeat this ritual every night as well?
