Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So that is a little bit about us. From there we can jump into the fun stuff.
The basic routine that we recommend for pretty much everybody is a four-step routine that consists of cleansing, toning, applying a serum, and an oil. This is just kind of an overall, general recommendation. You would do that routine in the morning and evening.
I always tell people it's best, you know, just to really play around with your routine, customize your routine, find what works best for you, what works best for your skin, what works best for your lifestyle. That four-step recommendation, it doesn't have to be set in stone, you know? But that's kind of the routine that we'll focus on today.
Also, within our line, we do have a few different collections so I do like to touch on that quickly just because I feel like it can help people if they're feeling confused or overwhelmed.
We have two main collections. They are the Signature Collection and the Wild Alchemy Collection. All of the Signature Collection products have this tan labeling. These products, a lot of them have been around since we first got started. A lot of them are some of our bestsellers.
And then we also have our Wild Alchemy collection. All of those products have the black and gold labeling. This is our luxury line. What makes it our luxury line is that the products in this collection contain higher levels of activated ingredients. Things like our bioactive A-Complex, which is our retinol alternative, our THDA, which is our pure vitamin C.
![](https://www.annmariegianni.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/wild-alchemy-products.jpeg)
They also contain more exotic ingredients. So these more globally-sourced ingredients. Things like mongongo oil and baobab oil. And then the way that they're made, the crafting process is usually just a little bit more laborious as well.
So those are the two main collections that we'll focus on. We do have some smaller collections that maybe we'll touch on. It just kind of depends, you know, where we go as far as everybody's skin concerns and all of that. So did anybody want to jump in and share a little bit about your skin, about your skin concerns, kind of what you're looking to address, and why you joined the call? Or if not, that's okay too. We can go a different route if nobody feels like sharing.
No? Oh, come on, you guys.
Customer: All right. I can speak. This is Sondra. This is the first time I've used Zoom on my phone. I don't think my camera's on. I tried to turn it on, but I can't quite manage it. Sorry.
So I have two questions. The first one is, I was using the Charcoal Cacao Mask in tandem with the Illuminating Pearl Mask. So I would do one, then the other right after each other. I have very sensitive skin and I don't like exfoliation. Is that what it is? I don't like scrubs. My skin gets really red. So I was using the Charcoal Cacao one for an exfoliation. And I just went to order it and I got a message saying we're out of stock and it's not going to come back for a long time. So the reason I joined was I wanted to get a recommendation of another mask that I could use for that same purpose of sort of exfoliating so that my products work better, you know, so that my serums and everything else work better. So that's my first question.
And then my second question is. Why don't you have a neck cream and what do you guys recommend? I'm 59 and my neck is my biggest concern and I don't think you have a neck cream in your line. So I was wondering if you have any recommendations for that?
Emily Haupt-Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Awesome. Yeah, absolutely. Thank you for sharing.
We don't have a product made specifically for the neck. I always recommend just bringing your products down to that area as you apply them to your face. That's what I do. As I'm applying my serums and my oils I just tend to kind of pull it down onto my neck a little bit. Cleansers and treatment masks, that sort of thing, can be a little bit tricky to use on the neck and decollete if you’re trying to just do it at your sink, so those I like to use when I shower if I want to use them in that area. And then also a lot of people, I don't personally do this, I haven't tried it, but a lot of our customers do like to use the Radiant Skin Silk, it's actually our body lotion, but they like to use that on their decollete. So that would be something you could give a try as well.
Customer: Okay.
Emily Haupt-Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: And then as far as the mask and exfoliant question, I’m trying to think of what I want to recommend to you because we only have one exfoliant that is strictly a chemical exfoliant. So it doesn't have any scrub or grit to it. A physical exfoliant has that scrub or grit to it. It's physically polishing the skin whereas a chemical exfoliant, chemical in the way that it's working on your skin, not that it contains a bunch of chemicals, is dissolving the “glue” that holds the top layer of skin cells. The chemical exfoliant that we have is the Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant.
Have you ever tried this one before?
Customer: No, I haven't.
Emily Haupt-Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Okay. So like I said, this is strictly a chemical exfoliant. The exfoliating ingredient in this product is a honey-derived lactic acid. Lactic acid is a very mild alpha hydroxy acid.
So you could give this a try. Now you said that you're more sensitive. So if you were to try this, you would apply it. You apply it like a mask. It's a smooth gel texture. So you would cleanse, you would apply this, you would leave it on to start only for like two or three minutes, and then you would thoroughly remove and then follow with your toner, serum, and oil.
We do recommend that you use this one usually in the evening and then with an SPF during the day, just because you’re exposing fresh skin by exfoliating, so then if you're out in the sun, you're more prone to sun damage. So that could be one option that you could try. It is great because it's a nice balance with the activated ingredient, the honey-derived lactic acid paired with more soothing, calming ingredients like cucumber and blue tansy. So that might work well for you. You might be able to do it for the lesser time and it might work well for you. You can work your way up to leaving this on for up to 10 minutes, but I would suspect since you are saying that you are a little bit more sensitive, you might not want to leave it on for that long.
Customer: Can I ask you a question before you move on? How, how often would you say I should do this? Every day, once a week?
Emily Haupt-Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: This one you would only do once a week.
Customer: And what about, like now I normally do the pearl mask right after I do the charcoal, can I do this one with the pearl mask as well?
Emily Haupt-Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, you absolutely could. This one works so nicely paired with the pearl mask. It's really great for brightening the look of skin.
Okay. Yeah. So that's the only one that we have that doesn't have any scrub or grit to it. The other option I was going to mention isn't really a traditional exfoliant, but the Activated Night Serum could be an option. It is not categorized as an exfoliant. It is a serum, but it contains our bioactive A-Complex, which is our retinol alternative, so it does have a renewing/resurfacing effect on the skin. This product is to be used in the evening and with an SPF during the day as well.
And I know this one, Grace hopped off the call, so I can't ask her. She's my sensitive skin guru. She has very sensitive skin. And I'm not positive if she uses the Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant, but I know that she does use the Activated Night Serum and she can use this product with no issue, even with her skin being very sensitive. I don't think that she uses it every night. I believe she uses it every other night. But that could be another option for you to look into.
Customer: So would this replace the Anti-Aging Serum that I normally use?
Emily Haupt-Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Well, the Activated Night Serum is just to be used in the evening, so you could still use your Anti-Aging Serum in the morning. Or if you were going to just incorporate the Activated Night Serum every other day then you would use the Anti-Aging Serum both morning and evening on the days that you are not using the Activated Night.
Customer: And one other question. I started using the Brighten – Vitamin C With Seabuckthorn, I use two pumps of the serum and then pump of the Brighten. And I only do that in the morning. Is that going to have any interactions with either of those two things?
![brighten](https://www.annmariegianni.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/newsletter_banner_1200x800_brighten_3.jpg)
Emily Haupt-Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Great question. So I would do what you're doing. Add your Brighten to your Anti-Aging Serum in the morning. But you do not want to mix the Brighten with the Activated Night Serum if you were to incorporate that product.
Customer: Okay.
Emily Haupt-Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: All right. Good questions. We can talk about the Brighten a bit more quickly if you guys want to, and we can talk some more about the Activated Night Serum as well.
So the Activated Night Serum, like we just talked about, contains our retinol alternative. It's our bioactive A Complex, which is derived from algae. So it's a completely safe ingredient. It's a Made Safe approved ingredient. And the reason that we wanted to create this product is because, you know, retinols are very popular in skin care products, but often they're not great for your health. They can be harmful to reproductive health. Our COO was actually pregnant when she was creating and formulating this product. Even for skin health, if you're using a traditional retinol over an extended period of time, it can start to thin the skin which really isn't what we want as we age we don't want to thin our skin. We want to really support our skin's natural barrier to have really healthy, resilient skin. So we wanted a product that offered similar results to traditional retinol, that resurfacing, renewing effect on the skin, but that was completely safe for your overall health and skin health.
So this serum is excellent for addressing signs of aging. It can be helpful for brightening the look of skin as well. It has a nice, kind of rich texture to it. So it feels very hydrating. And then it also smells lovely. It's again, kind of that nice combination of the activated bioactive A complex paired with soothing, calming ingredients like lavender and blue chamomile.
And then the other product that Sondra mentioned, we could touch on a bit more is the Brighten.
Brighten is one of the 3 elixirs in the Concentrated Boosting Elixirs set. It is also sold on its own in the larger size. The Concentrated Boosting Elixirs kind of fall into the serum category, but they're a pretty unique product. The set of three contains the Hydrate, the Brighten, and the Revitalize. These are just kind of a fun extra product. So they're not really a product that you have to have. They aren’t one of the four products that we talked about that make up your basic routine. But if you're somebody who's looking for like the most activated ingredients in your routine. If you're really looking to see results as far as signs of aging or pigmentation, these elixirs can be a great add-on. And the way that you use them, like Sondra was saying, you never apply them directly to the skin. They're made to be mixed. So you ideally will mix with a serum. If for some reason you weren't using a serum, you could also mix with your facial oil. And you can play around a bit with these, I know that our COO will even mix the Birghten Elixir with our Illuminating Pearl Mask. But typically you will add one to three drops of the elixir with your serum.
The Hydrate Elixir can be used in the morning or evening. So you could do a pump. Whatever you like to do, a pump, maybe two pumps of your serum, and then you can do one to three drops of the Hydrate. You can also mix and match, so you could do two drops of Hydrate and one drop of Brighten or two drops of Brighten and one drop of Hydrate.
Hydrate is a hyaluronic acid with vegan collagen prepeptides. So hyaluronic acid is a humectant that binds water to the skin so it's really deeply hydrating the skin. There's a difference between dehydrated skin, which is skin that's lacking water, and then dry skin, which is skin that's lacking oil. Most people have a little bit of both. They have a little bit of dehydration and a little bit of dryness, and so that's kind of why we recommend using a combination of hydrating products and moisturizing products. Your hydrators are your serum and your toning mist, and then your moisturizer is your facial oil. So hyaluronic acid is an excellent hydrator. It's considered a super hydrator because it holds 1,000 times its weight in water. So really deeply hydrating the skin is going to have a plumping effect on the skin. And then it's also got the vegan collagen prepeptides, which are really strengthening the skin, helping to increase resilience in the skin to enhance firmness & the look of elasticity.
The Brighten Elixir, this one you'd want to use in the morning. This one is available to be purchased in the full-size pump top bottle. And if you're using the pump top bottle, you would just use one pump versus three drops. But the Brighten of Elixir is a pure vitamin C with seabuckthorn. So this is excellent for brightening the look of skin. Excellent if dark spots and pigmentation are a concern of yours. This is, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate or THDA, that's the vitamin C that we use. There's a bunch of different vitamin C's out there and a lot of them are not stable. So if they're not stable, then when they're exposed to air, or like put in a liquid, they go rancid really quickly and then they're not effective. So the vitamin C that we use in this product is a very stable form of vitamin C. It's also a very non-irritating form of vitamin C. A lot of times people with really sensitive skin can't use conventional vitamin C products. This one, it's a pH of seven. So same pH as water. Most of the time all skin types are able to use it. It's also oil-soluble. And then it's paired with the Seabuckthorn, which is a superfruit rich in vitamins and omegas.
And then the last one in the set is the Revitalize. So this one is the Bioactive A Complex, it is the exact same activated ingredient that's in the Activated Night Serum, paired with Astaxanthin. So again, that retinol alternative paired with a powerful antioxidant. And this one is only to be used in the evening with an SPF during the day, same as the night serum. So those are the Concentrated Boosting Elixirs. Again, just kind of a fun, extra product.
Ok, great. Does anybody else want to share?
Customer: Well, I can share. I mean, I'm just very new to these products. I just started it with the sample set but I noticed the difference right away. I don't know if I was dehydrated or it was dry, I don't know, but I did notice a difference. And so I just have the anti-aging oil, the night serum, the day serum, and then I made another purchase and I got the probiotic serum. And I don't know how to use it, like in general, how to use all of them. And then also, what do I do with the probiotic, how do I use this one?
Emily Haupt-Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Ok. Maybe let me pull it up so that I can see what you’ve got.
You got the Clean Beauty Trial Kit?
Is it the one with the Aloe Herb Cleanser? Yes. The Anti-Aging Serum, and then the tiny Anti-Aging Oil? Is that right?
Customer: Yes. That’s right.
Emily Haupt-Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Okay. And then and then you just have the little travel Probiotic Serum as well, right?
Customer: Yes.
Emily Haupt-Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Okay, perfect. Yeah, so you would just, you could alternate, like if you were wanting to use both, so you would cleanse with your Aloe Herb Cleanser, and then you would use your Anti-Aging Serum, like, on Monday and then maybe on Tuesday you could use your Probiotic Serum. You could also alternate and use the Anti-Aging in the morning and the Probiotic in the evening.
Or you could go through each one, like you could just use all of your Anti-Aging Serum and then you could switch and use all of your Probiotic Serum. I mean, that can be kind of helpful if you're trying to determine which one you love the most. You know, if you just use one both morning and evening until you're finished with it and then switch to the next.
As far as the difference in those serums, the Anti-Aging Serum, is in our Signature Collection. This is our best-selling serum, I think it may be our best-selling product. It's very popular. People like this one a lot. I usually tell people, if you're feeling confused or overwhelmed or not sure where to start, this can be a good one to start with. It's really great for all skin types. It's very antioxidant-rich. It's got buddleia extract, life everlasting flowers, there's some rose in here, so good for soothing the look of temporary redness in the skin. This one has got hyaluronic acid which we just talked about, so really deeply hydrating the skin, kind of plumping the skin, so that is a very popular choice.
The Probiotic Serum With Tremella, is also in the Signature Collection. This one's great as well. It's good for all skin types as well. I tend to recommend this one if people have more sensitive skin or skin that's just kind of out of balance. It's got a probiotic ferment in it. So that probiotic ferment can help eliminate impurities on the skin's surface. It can help to rebalance the skin's pH. Then it's got the tremella mushroom in it, of course. So that acts very similar to hyaluronic acid, really deeply hydrating the skin. It's got some olive leaf extract in there. I think this one has astaxanthin too, which like I said is a really powerful antioxidant. It's also what gives flamingos their pink color. Fun fact.
Both the Probiotic and the Anti-Aging Serum are excellent. Both are suitable for all skin types. So you really, like I said, you could alternate or you could just use one and then the other. Scent profile wise, if you're a scent person, they're very different. The Anti-Aging Serum is very floral, very vetiver heavy. And then the Probiotic Serum, some people don't like the way this one smells. People say it smells like dirt. I say it smells earthy and I actually like the way that it smells. But if you're a scent person that can be good to know.
So you just would cleanse with your Aloe Herb Cleanser. If you have a toning mist, you could use your toning mist and then apply either of your serums and then your Anti-Aging Facial Oil over top.
Did anybody else want to share anything?
No? Okay, well you don't have to.
If nobody else wants to share we could talk a little bit about the other products that you've got in your kit there.
So that Clean Beauty Trial kit, that's a really popular kit that people start out with often. The Aloe Herb Cleanser is the cleanser that comes in that one.
The Aloe Herb Cleanser is kind of similar to that Anti-Aging Serum in that I often tell people if you're not sure where to start, this is a great place to start because you kind of can't go wrong. It's good for all skin types. It's very popular. People love this one. I think it's partially because of the scent. This one has some lemon essential oil in it, which is purifying and brightening and gives it a nice kind of citrusy scent profile. This is a creamy, nourishing cleanser. It’s got some coconut oil in there that contributes to that creaminess. The aloe, of course, aloe is rich in vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and enzymes, and all of these beneficial nutrients for the skin. Aloe also contains some naturally occurring saponins that act as mild cleansing agents on the skin. What else? All of our cleansers are pH-balanced. So your skin's pH is a 4.5 to a 5.5 on the pH scale. The pH of our cleansers is 5.5 to 5.6, which is printed on all of our packaging. So that's important. I usually mention that just because, you know, you don't want to disrupt your skin's natural protective barrier. You don't want to strip your skin or dry out your skin, which can happen sometimes with more conventional cleansers. A lot of times if a cleanser has high foaming properties, they're using things like harsh sulfates as their surfactant, which can kind of dry out and strip the skin. We use a sodium lauryl glucose carboxylate. That's the surfactant that we use. And it's a safe, low-foaming option. So it's got an excellent cleansing profile while being completely safe. It sounds very fancy, but it's really just saponified oils and plant starches and sugars. So that's the Aloe Herb Cleanser. Like I said, it’s really a great choice for most people.
And then the next step in your routine would be your toning mist. We have three different toners in the line. The Neroli Toning Mist, the Rosemary Toning Mist, and the Botanical Hydration Mist With Immortelle.
![toners](https://www.annmariegianni.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/annmarie-skin-care-toner-guide.jpeg)
The Rosemary Toning Mist, this one is a more purifying toning mist. It's good for normal, combination, and oily skin types. This is actually my personal favorite. I love this one. But I tend to be congestion-prone. And I don't think, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think anybody on this call from what I'm looking at on the surveys, I don't think that's a concern for anybody here.
So this probably wouldn't be what you guys would choose. So you would probably be choosing between the Neroli and the Botanical.
Also, if you have questions or want to share anything, you can always put it in the chat too, if you don't feel like talking.
But these two, the Neroli Toning Mist, this one's very popular, probably our best-selling toning mist. It's in our signature collection. This one's a very simple formula. It's an aloe vera juice base, the neroli essential oil, and some aspen bark extract. The aspen bark extract acts as a natural preservative. It's also a natural source of salicins. The neroli essential oil has a really lovely scent to it. It's derived from fresh orange blossoms. So again, I think part of why people love this one, because it smells really lovely. This one's good for normal, combination, and dry skin, even those with a little bit of sensitivity. So this one's good for most skin types. Your toning mist in general, like I said, it's just offering that dose of hydration and a dose of skin supporting nutrients. So again, the difference between hydrating and moisturizing, this is a hydrator.
It is also helpful for product absorption. I believe the packaging on all of our toning mists say after cleansing, mist over face and neck, let dry, follow with your serum and or moisturizer. I actually don't agree with that recommendation. When your skin is still slightly damp from your toning mist, I would apply your serum and your moisturizer or your serum and your oil, I should say. Your treatment products will absorb better if applied while skin is slightly damp. This ensures that your products don’t ever feel like they are just kind of setting on the skin and that they don’t feel heavy or greasy at all. So that is something I always recommend to people.
And then the last toner that we have is the Botanical Hydration Mist With Immortelle. This one is in the Wild Alchemy Collection. It's a larger size too, just a little side note there. It's twice the size. This one is excellent really for all skin types. It's very good for sensitive skin. It's got a blend of four different types of chamomile in here. There's also some rose in here, so soothing and nurturing.
This is one of Grace's holy grail products, she says. And she's the one on our team that I mentioned with very sensitive skin. And then also this one does have more of those sort of anti-aging ingredients too, like the Immortelle, which is a really powerful antioxidant. The frankincense, which is known to tone, tighten, and rejuvenate the skin. The scent profile on this one is very different. The rosemary smells like rosemary, obviously. The neroli has that kind of sweet smell with the Neroli essential oil in it. And then this one is more of an herbal scent profile with the frankincense in there and that immortelle.
So those are the toners. And so to cleanse, you're just going to dampen your face, massage your cleanser into the skin, rinse clean. And then you would just mist your toning mist over your face and neck. And then apply your serum and your oil.
Okay. Are we feeling complete with cleansers? Do you guys want me to touch on other cleansers? We do have a couple of other cleansing options. Or should we touch on serums some more?
I'll just talk a little bit about a couple of our other cleansers really quickly, and then we can move back into serums. We have three other cleansing options, but I think two would probably be the choice for this group. So the Citrus Mint Cleanser, this is the other one in our Signature Collection. This is a purifying gel cleanser ideal for normal, combination, and oily skin.
The Phytonutrient Cleanser, I think I left mine upstairs, but the Phytonutrient Cleanser is in the Wild Alchemy Collection. This could be another cleansing option for the group. It's similar to the Aloe Herb in that they're both cream cleansers. The Phytonutrient is a little bit richer. It has like a richer, fattier texture to it. It's got the coconut oil, but it's also got a mango seed butter in it. So it's very rich. I'd say it's our most moisturizing cleansing option. And then it's also got some acai in there, so rich in antioxidants, fatty acids, & omegas. The Phytonutrient also has apple extract in it. The apple extract is rich in vitamin C and malic acid. So the Phytonutrient Cleanser is an excellent option if brightening is a concern of yours. It's also got our signature serum blend in there. I always like to encourage people with your cleansing ritual to really take your time as you cleanse, really massage the product into your skin. Let it kind of be on the skin for a minute before you rinse it, especially with the Phytonutrient Cleanser, something that's got those beautiful activated ingredients in there. You want to let those activated ingredients be on the skin for a bit before you just quickly rinse them down the drain.
And then the last cleanser I'll talk about is the Restorative Cleansing Oil. This one is also in the Wild Alchemy Collection. This one's a little bit different. I'm a big fan of oil cleansing. Oil cleansing really can be good for all skin types. For dry and mature skin, this feels very nourishing because it is an oil. The way that you use it is a little bit different than a traditional cleanser. This one you apply to dry skin with dry hands. So when I use this, I tend to use quite a bit of it because you're not adding water so you want that slip as you're massaging it on the skin.
So dry skin, dry hands, again, really taking your time and thoroughly massaging it in. And then you can just rinse clean and that can be it. This can be your cleanser. That can be your cleansing routine. You can also remove this one with a warm towel or a washcloth. A lot of people like to do that. It does leave a bit of an oil on the skin even after rinsing. Some people like that, some people don’t. You have less of that if you're removing it with a washcloth or a towel versus just rinsing it off. You can also use this as the first step in a double-cleanse routine. If you wanted to do that you would just massage it into dry skin, rinse, and then follow with a second cleanser, the Aloe Herb, Phytonutrient, whatever you like.
So even for congestion-prone skin, this can be helpful as well because “like attracts like”, so the oil is binding to oil-based impurities in the skin and helping to remove them. This one, it's a jojoba oil base, so jojoba very closely resembles the texture of your skin's natural sebum. As a company, we say that jojoba oil is a great choice for dry and mature skin. I actually think jojoba oil is great for any skin type. I'm jojoba obsessed. This one also has tea tree oil in it. So it's purifying as well. It's got manuka oil in it. I'm also manuka obsessed. Manuka is both cleansing and calming to the skin. So, that is the Restorative Cleansing Oil. That could be another option as well.
And then we have already covered all of the toners. So then serums, we already talked about the Anti-Aging, the Probiotic, and the Concentrated Boosting Elixirs.
We do have several serums in the line, so I feel like serums are where things get a little confusing for people. The other one that we've got in the Signature Collection that we didn’t touch on yet is the Citrus Stem Cell Serum.
The Citrus Stem Cell, again, is good for all skin types, but especially for skin that has had a lot of exposure to the elements and skin that has had a lot of sun exposure. It’s great for thicker textured skin, that sort of leathery skin. It’s great for targeted brightening. So, if you have like one or two dark spots that you're just really focusing on, brightening the look of this serum could be helpful. There's kind of two components to it. There are citrus-derived stem cells. We use plant stem cells in all of our products. Often, in skin care products, stem cells can be derived from animals. They could be derived from humans. Ours are all plant-derived. And these stem cells are providing proteins and peptides and amino acids and all of these things that are really strengthening the skin. And then the other piece to that one is the brightening trio, which is licorice root, uva ursi, and amlaberry. Amlaberry is very rich in vitamin C, and then licorice root and uva ursi are both lightening and brightening ingredients. Licorice root you'll find a lot of times in natural products used as an alternative to hydroquinone. Which is kind of a nasty ingredient that's banned everywhere but in the US. So that is an excellent one if brightening is your focus.
And then in the Wild Alchemy Collection we have a couple of different ones. Maybe I'll skip over the CBD Serum today.
The Wild Fruit Serum. This is my personal favorite. I love this serum. I refer to it as our do-it-all all serum. It's a very all-encompassing serum. It's hydrating, it's brightening, it's anti-aging, all of the things.
Laura, did you have a question?
Customer: Yes, I mean, in terms of the brightening products, that brightening is just, it's just that our skin looks bright. Is that the only effect?
Emily Haupt-Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So most of the time, when I'm talking about brightening products, I’m talking about products that can help with lightening the look of dark spots and pigmentation. But also just increasing overall radiance as well. Hopefully, that makes sense.
So the Wild Fruit Serum this one has got the apple extract, again rich in malic acid and vitamin C. Obviously, vitamin C is a very popular ingredient for both brightening the look of dark spots and just for increasing overall radiance. This serum also has copper-infused water in it. It's got a really dense infusion of those plant cells that we talked about. This one has Madonna lily plant cells. There's about 1.5 million active plant stem cells in each little bottle of this serum. This one also has knotweed extract, which is a source of resveratrol and then kakadu plum. For me, that kakadu plum kind of sets this one apart a little bit. Kakdu plum is another really potent source of vitamin C. It also contains phenolic acid. Phenolic acid behaves on the skin similar to an alpha hydroxy acid. Alpha hydroxy acids, which we already talked about, they're an exfoliant. They're dissolving that glue that holds the top layer of skin. So the phenolic acid behaves similarly on the skin. And then also, like I said, I'm a scent person and this one has that more fruity scent profile, which I like. So that's the Wild Fruit Serum. I don't think I'm gonna go into CBD unless anybody wants to hear about it. And we already talked about our Activated Night Serum and our Concentrated Boosting Elixirs, so that's feeling pretty complete in the serum category.
Was there another question?
Customer: Yes. Because when you were talking to Sandra, you said the Activated Night Serum for her would be better to use every other day. Is that a recommendation for everybody?
Emily Haupt-Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: No. She had mentioned that her skin tends to be sensitive, so that is why I recommended that she might want to use it every other night vs. every night. With that product, it is best to just give it a try and see what feels best for you as far as how often to use it. Some people like to use it every night, some every other night, some customers like to use it consistently for two weeks and then take a week off. It is just kind of feeling how your skin feels when you use it to determine how you want to incorporate it. Find what feels good for you.
Great question.
Customer: Okay, so I'm sorry. I have another question, too. I placed an order recently and I’m getting a free trial of the CBD Serum, so I am curious to know what that is and how I should use it.
Emily Haupt-Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, absolutely.
So the Activated CBD Serum is this one here. I love this one as well. So does Grace. This is her other holy grail product. This serum is really good for all skin types, and especially for sensitive skin. When we created this product, we of course wanted to source the best. So, we partnered with Ojai Energetics to source our CBD. They're really a leader and a pioneer in the CBD space. It's kind of hard to say exactly what CBD does for the skin because it works with your body's natural endocannabinoid system to kind of go where it's needed to go and do what it's needed to do. But like I said, it's great for sensitive skin types, it’s great for calming and soothing the look of temporary redness in the skin. And then this one also does have a good amount of hyaluronic acid in it. It also has the tremella mushroom extract. So both of those, so it's very hydrating. It has that kind of thicker, richer texture to it. Like our other serums, you know, like the probiotic or something, it's a little bit more aqueous. So it's got that thick, rich texture. So it feels really hydrating, really nourishing on the skin. It's also very rich in antioxidants. There’s superoxide dismutase in here, there’s astaxanthin as well. This one has some black cumin seed oil and some mangosteen oil. It smells really lovely, just kind of light and lovely.

So to use it, you said you just have the Anti-Aging Serum now, correct?
Customer: I use a drop of the Brighten in the Anti-Aging Serum.
Emily Haupt-Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Ok, great. So you could choose if you wanted to finish out the Anti-Aging and then switch to the Activated CBD or you could alternate and start using the Anti-Aging in the morning and the Activated CBD at night or even alternate days. The Brighten Elixir can be mixed with either serum. But you would use the Brighten in the morning, so mixing it into whichever serum you choose to use in the morning.
Okay, the next step, the final step in your basic four-step routine would be your facial oil or moisturizer.
Again, we have several different facial oils. The Anti-Aging Facial Oil is very popular. This one is good for dry and mature skin. It's a very nourishing, very restorative facial moisturizer. It's that jojoba oil base. And then there's a bunch of different seed oils in this one. So broccoli seed, carrot seed oil, chia seed oil, etc. That chia, for example, is rich in vitamin B and zinc. I think there's some goji in this one as well. So, like I said, a very popular choice, very nourishing, very moisturizing, great for dry and mature skin. Scent profile wise, it's similar to the Anti-Aging Serum, very floral, vetiver heavy.
And then, we have our herbal facial oils. These I tend to not go into too deeply because they're kind of self-explanatory because they're named for the skin type they are designed for. All of the herbal facial oils have a grapeseed oil base. Grapeseed oil is a light-textured, skin-balancing oil.
There's the Herbal Facial Oil for Normal and Combination skin, Herbal Facial Oil for Oily Skin, and the Herbal Facial Oil for Sensitive Skin.
So like the Herbal Facial Oil for Oily has the neem and the black cumin seed, the Herbal Facial Oil for Sensitive Skin, has no added essential oils. So it's a good option for sensitive skin types. That one's got like squalane, camellia seed oil, sacha inchi oil, a bunch of omega-rich oils. aAnd then the Herbal Facial Oil for Normal and Combination Skin, this one is a skin-balancing oil. There's some echinacea. I think there's goji in that one as well. But those are the herbal facial oils.
And then the one that we've got in the Wild Alchemy Collection is the Rejuvenating Facial Oil. The Rejuvenating Facial Oil is good for all skin types except for extremely sensitive skin, I would say. This is our most potent, our most activated facial oil. The reason for that is because of the way that we make it. So our other facial oils, like the anti-aging, that one has a bunch of different herbs in the herb infusion and all of those different seed oils that I mentioned. I think there's like 20 herbs in the herb infusion for that one. This one, the Rejuvenating Oil, has just one herb. It's the butterfly pea flower. And then there's far fewer of the seed oils and the CO2 extracts. And the reason that we chose to include fewer of those things in this one was just because we wanted it to be more potent. We wanted it to be more active. So by including fewer, we were able to include them at higher concentrations, at higher percentages. This one also is a jojoba oil base, so same as the Anti-Aging Facial Oil. And then it's got like the mongongo oil, which is really softening. It feels very soft on the skin. The baobab oil is brightening. The marula oil is really antioxidant-rich. The scent profile for this one, I really never know how to describe it. I usually describe it as herbaceous.
So that's kind of the basic routine. Let's pause there. Did anybody have any questions here?
Or does anybody want to let me know anything else they want me to talk about? We could talk about the eye products, we could talk about masks and exfoliants. Or you guys are feeling complete?
Okay, well let's go ahead and talk about eye cream because why not?
So we have two different eye products. We have the Anti-Aging Eye Cream and the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum. Both are excellent. I tend to tell people if they're going to choose one or the other. I personally like the eye cream. They're both great. They're just different. So the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum. It's a true serum, so it's that thinner consistency, that smaller molecule. It's a hydrator.
The Anti-Aging Eye Cream is more of a cream, so it's more nourishing, more moisturizing. For me, I always feel like my eye area is very dry and I need that more nourishing cream. But both are great.
Some people, if their eye area is their main concern, some people like to use them both. If you wanted to use them both, you could alternate. You could do one in the morning, one at night or you could layer them. You could layer the eye serum underneath of the eye cream. I always tell people with the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum, you only want to use a very little bit of that one. And it can be helpful to apply it when your skin is a little bit damp from your toning mist. If you use too much, it just doesn't always apply nicely. The Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum has got pineapple ceramides and sake peptides. It can be really helpful if dark under-eye circles are a main concern. The sake peptides can help to kind of retexturize that under-eye area.
The Anti-Aging Eye Cream, this one has the cucumber distillate so it's great for puffiness. This one has damas rose plant cells that can be helpful for the look of fine lines and crow's feet.
Our treatment masks, we already touched on masks a little bit because Sandra had mentioned it. She did mention the pearl mask. That one is an excellent one. I love the Illuminating Pearl Mask. It's very popular. That one is a hydrating brightening treatment mask. It's got honey in it. Honey acts as a humectant to bind moisture to the skin. That one has also got the licorice root, the uva ursi and the pearl powder, all of those brightening ingredients. I think there is turmeric in that one as well. So again a very popular one. That's one that you kind of can't overdo it with. It's good for all skin types. If you wanted to use it every day you could. You can also use it as an under eye treatment mask. It's kind of this like creamy jelly texture, so it feels really nice and cooling on the skin, so I like to use that one in the morning when my skin is kind of tired and puffy.
What else? Maybe we'll talk about the Sun Love and then we can kind of call it good. This is our everyday sheer sunscreen. Some of the products that we talk about, we do recommend using with an SPF. This is our SPF. It's great for all skin types. It's an SPF 20. It's a broad spectrum. So UVA and UVB protection. That SPF 20 is blocking 95 percent of UV rays. This one can be used on its own, so some people like to use this as their daytime moisturizer. Some people like to use it over top of a facial oil. You can do whatever you like. It's a non- nano zinc oxide. It is reef-safe. It's got some pumpkin seed oil and buriti fruit oil, so it feels really nourishing to the skin.
I think that's kind of it. We can maybe kind of wrap things up. Is everybody feeling pretty good? Do we have more questions? I'm happy to talk about whatever else you guys want me to.
Customer: Yeah, I have some questions. I'm very new to this. Actually, this is my first with the sample to try your products and they all sound great, but I'm a little overwhelmed with everything that you've gone over today. So for future orders do you include instructions with how to use the products so I don't get mixed up, because I remember you saying at the beginning of this presentation not to put something directly on your skin to make sure you mix it with something else.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yes, definitely. And that is the Concentrated Boosting Elixirs, that’s the product that you're supposed to mix that I was talking about earlier in the call.
It can be overwhelming if you're new and that's why I said it's flexible, that four-step routine that we are talking about is kind of our basic recommendation. It's a great place to start, but even if you want to start with a two-step routine, you could get just a cleanser and a facial oil and start there. You can always add products and build your routine in time. That's kind of the most like pared-down routine that you want to have. Usually, you want to have at least the cleanser and then a moisturizer.
As far as how to use the products. Yes, it's printed on each product. It'll say for best results and it'll tell you how to use it. Also on our website, on each product page it tells you how to use the product and also has a video that shows you. So that could be helpful, too, if you want extra instruction.
Customer: Okay, and as long as you follow, like, with this cleanse, tone, do the serum and facial oil, then you should be good to go?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yup, that's perfect.
All right, you guys. Well, if there are no other questions and you're feeling complete, then we can go ahead and wrap it up. I hope everybody has an awesome afternoon. I hope you guys have a great holiday.
Customer: Thank you too
