Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: From there we can jump into the product line and routines and all of that good stuff. I think one or two others jumped on as we were chatting. So just so that you guys know, the newbies that jumped on, the concerns that were mentioned that we were going to focus on are sensitivity, dryness, dark spots, brightening and wrinkles. Does anybody that came on late have any other concerns aside from those that you want to make sure that we cover? If so, you can just pop into the chat or you can just let us know. I just want to make sure I cover everything everybody wants to talk about. So the basic routine that we recommend for pretty much anybody, no matter what your concern is, is a four step routine that consists of cleansing, toning, using a serum, and then facial oil.
So that's kind of the general recommendation that you would do both morning and evening. I always tell people, you know, it's kind of best to just customize your routine, find what works best for your skin, what works best for your lifestyle. Maybe you're somebody who doesn't want a really complex routine. And so in that case, kind of the most simple routine, the most pared down routine that you would want to have would be a cleanser and a facial oil. You kind of would want to start with at least those two products. And then you could kind of build from there and add other products in as you want to.
But so no matter if your routine is two steps or if it's 10 steps you're going to start with cleansing. So we'll start with our cleansers first. Cleansing is going to just remove makeup and impurities. A thorough cleanse is going to ensure that your treatment products are able to be absorbed properly so that they can work effectively. We have four different cleansers in the line. They are the Aloe Herb Cleanser, the Citrus Mint Cleanser, the Phytonutrient Cleanser, and the Restorative Cleansing Oil. All of our cleansers are pH balanced. So that's important. You want to choose a pH balanced cleanser because that's going to ensure that you're not stripping your skin. You're not drying out your skin. You're not disrupting your skin's acid mantle, your natural protective barrier. So your skin's pH is a 4. 5 to 5. 5 on the pH scale and all of our cleansers, the pH is a 5.5 to 5. 6, which is actually printed on our packaging. So the first one that we'll start with is the Aloe Herb Cleanser. This one is our best selling cleanser. It is very popular. It's an excellent choice really for anyone. I feel like I tell people if you are unsure, if you're overwhelmed, if you don't know where to start, this can be a good choice. Because again, you just can't go wrong with this one really. The Aloe Herb Cleanser is a creamy cleanser. It's got some coconut oil in there that contributes to the creamy texture. It's an aloe vera base, of course. Aloe is rich in vitamins and minerals, phytonutrients and enzymes. And then this one's got some calendula in it, a really soothing herb. Good for minimizing the appearance of any kind of temporary redness in the skin. And then this one has some lemon essential oil, which is purifying and brightening and has a really nice kind of citrusy scent. People love the way that this one smells. I think that's part of why it's so popular. This one it's available in two different sizes. This is the smaller 50 ml size and then it comes in the 100 ml as well. The other one in the Signature Collection is the Citrus Mint Cleanser. It doesn't really sound like anybody in this group would need this one, so we probably won't cover it. But it's just a purifying gel cleanser. So this is going to be a good choice for oilier skin types or those that are concerned with congestion. But like I said, it doesn't really sound like the main concern of this group.
So then the next one that we'll talk about is the Phytonutrient Cleanser. This one is in the Wild Alchemy Collection. So we do have within our line a couple of different collections. I guess a few different collections, more than a couple. But the two main collections that we have are the Signature Collection, which are all the products with the tan labeling, and then the Wild Alchemy Collection, so all the products with the black and gold labeling. And the difference, the Signature Collection, a lot of those products are products that have been around since we first got started. A lot of those products are our best selling products.
And then the Wild Alchemy Collection. This is our luxury line. So these products contain higher levels of activated ingredients. Things apple extract and our bioactive A-Complex and our pure vitamin C, the THDA. They also contain more exotic ingredients. So things like mongongo oil and marula oil. So that's kind of what sets this line apart and what makes it our luxury line. The crafting process too, the way these products are made, is usually a little bit more involved as well. And then we do, we have our Essentials Collection. I don't always talk about that one because I just kind of try not to overwhelm people. But I'm going to mention it just because sensitivity was mentioned and it can be a good choice for that. So the Essentials Collection, it's just two products. It's the Renew Facial Cream Cleanser and the Radiate Facial Oil. Those two products are offered at a lower price point than any of our other products. And the reason for that is just that they don't contain our herb infusions. So they're just really simple formulas but they're still really great products. They can be great if you are somebody who is just getting started on a skin care routine. If you're somebody, like a teen, who's kind of just wanting to start with something. Or they can be good for people who tend to have more sensitive skin. So that's the Essentials Collection. But sorry, kind of a tangent on collections. Back to the cleansers, the Phytonutrient Cleanser. This one is in the Wild Alchemy Collection. This one is a cream cleanser as well. So similar texture to the Aloe Herb. It's got that coconut oil in there but it's a little bit thicker, richer texture, a little bit almost fattier texture than the Aloe Herb Cleanser. And this one is great for all skin types too. It's great for brightening. So if dark spots are a concern, this can be a good choice. It has apple extract in it. The apple extract is rich in vitamin C and malic acid. So that's kind of the brightening component in this one. This one also has our signature serum blend in it. It's got some acai, so giving it that antioxidant component. I would say this cleanser is our most complex, most rich cleanser.
And then lastly is the Restorative Cleansing Oil. This one is also in the Wild Alchemy Collection. This one is a little bit different from the others. So the others are kind of traditional cleansers. So you just are going to wet your face. You're going to massage your cleanser into your skin and then rinse it off and pat dry. This one, it's a cleansing oil as the name suggests. So you use it a little bit differently. You apply it to dry skin with dry hands. So pump it in the palm of your hands, massage it in, and then you can choose. You can just rinse it off and that can be it. Some people like to remove this one with a washcloth, a warm cloth. Or you can use it as the first step in a double cleanse routine. And if you wanted to do that, you would massage it in, rinse it off, and then just follow with a second cleanser, whatever one you like, Aloe Herb, Phytonutrient, whatever you want. But that is the Restorative Cleansing Oil. This one again, it's good for all skin types, so for dry and mature skin, this one is very nourishing. It actually leaves a little bit of an oil on the skin. Some people like that, some people don't. This one, it can be good too even for oilier skin types or congestion prone skin because like attracts like so it's helping to kind of break down and soften up any excess oil and congestion in the skin. But this one is a jojoba oil base. So jojoba very closely resembles the texture of your skin's natural sebum. And then it's also got some castor oil in it. This one has tea tree oil. So purifying. Manuka oil, Manuka is very deep cleansing and calming to the skin. So that's the Restorative. This one is excellent for removing makeup, for removing mascara, even waterproof mascara, also great for removing sunscreen. This is really great for that.
So any questions about cleansing or any of the cleansers?
Alright, so the next step in your routine would be your toning mist, your toner, and we have three in the line. They are the Neroli Toning Mist, the Rosemary Toning Mist, and the Botanical Hydration Mist With Immortelle. This one, the Botanical in the Wild Alchemy line is a little bit, Not a little bit. It's twice as big. It's the 50 ml and then this is the 100 ml. So it is a larger size. Just a note. But so your toner is going to just complete the cleansing process. It's going to offer a dose of hydration and skin supporting nutrients. None of our toners are stripping or harsh at all on the skin.
The Neroli Toning Mist. This one is our most popular. This is a very popular choice. This one is good for pretty much any skin type, like normal dry, a little bit of sensitivity even. It's a really simple formula. It's an aloe vera juice base and then it's got the neroli essential oil in it. The neroli is derived from fresh orange blossoms so it has a really nice scent—again, I think part of why this one's so popular, kind of like the Aloe Herb Cleanser. And then it's got some aspen bark extract in it. The aspen bark extract is a natural source of salicins, so it acts as a natural preservative. And it also has kind of a cleansing, calming effect on the skin. So that's the Neroli Mist. The Rosemary Mist, this one is going to be more for oily skin or congestion prone skin. So probably won't go into that one too much for you guys. The Botanical Hydration Mist this one is the one in the Wild Alchemy Collection. This one is good for all skin types. This one is especially great for sensitive skin. So this one contains a blend of four different types of chamomile in it. So very soothing. This one has some rose in there too. This one's got frankincense in it, which is known to tone, tighten, and rejuvenate the skin. It's got the immortelle or the life everlasting flowers, which are a potent antioxidant. So this one too, the other two are an aloe vera juice base. This one is a hydrosol. So a hydrosol is like this watery runoff that you get when you create an essential oil through a steam distillation. So it gives it like this really nice kind of soft texture and it makes it a little bit more hydrating, I would say, than the others. This one, Grace, is our sensitive skin poster child here at Annmarie Skin Care. She has very sensitive skin, very dry skin. And she loves this product. This is one of her “holy grail” products, she says, that she can't live without. So that's a great one that I want to highlight because sensitive skin was mentioned as a concern for the group. So those are the toners. And so after you cleanse, you're going to just rinse your cleanser, pat your skin dry. Then mist your toning mist over your face and neck. And then it's up to you. The packaging on the toner says to mist, let it dry, and then apply your serum and your facial oil. I don't really love that recommendation. I would mist your toning mist and then while it's still damp, then I would apply my serum and oil.
But those are the toners. So any toning mist questions? They're kind of straightforward.
So then the next step in your routine would be your serum. I feel like serums and oils are where things start to get a little bit confusing sometimes just because we have a lot of different options. So, Serums in general are excellent hydrators. There is the difference between dehydrated skin, which is skin that is lacking water, and dry skin, which is skin that is lacking oil. Most people have a little bit of both, a little bit of dehydration, a little bit of dryness. And that's why we recommend using a combination of hydrating products and moisturizing products. So your toning mist and your serum, those are your hydrators. And then your facial oil, that's your moisturizer. So serums in general are excellent hydrators. They also are made up of a smaller molecule than a facial oil, so they are able to penetrate really deeply into the skin. They contain high levels of activated ingredients usually. So they allow you to really kind of target and treat whatever your specific skin concerns are. They allow you to kind of customize your routine a bit. So like I said, we have a few different ones in the Signature Collection. We have three. We have the Anti-Aging Serum, the Probiotic Serum With Tremella, and the Citrus Stem Cell Serum. The Anti-Aging Serum, this one is our most popular. It's probably our best-selling product. People love this one. If you've ever gotten a starter kit or a trial kit, it probably came with this one along with the Aloe Herb Cleanser and the Anti-Aging Facial Oil. So this one is great for all skin types. Again, you kind of can't go wrong with this one. I like to refer to it as a daily dose of overall skin nutrition. It's very hydrating. It's very antioxidant rich. It's got buddleia extract. It's got life everlasting flowers. This one has some rose in it. So soothing as well. And then that hyaluronic acid. So hyaluronic. We use a non GMO vegetable sourced hyaluronic acid and hyaluronic is a humectant that binds water to the skin. So hyaluronic acid holds 1,000 times its weight in water. It's considered a super hydrator. So deeply hydrating the skin is going to have kind of a plumping effect on the skin versus if your skin is dehydrated, it's going to emphasize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. So that's the Anti-Aging Serum. Again, good for all skin types. Pretty much anybody could use this one.
The Citrus Stem Cell Serum, again, good for all skin types but especially for thicker textured skin, skin that's had a lot of exposure to the elements and a lot of sun exposure. The Citrus Stem Cell Serum is great for brightening. It's great for targeted brightening. So that one, it's got kind of two components to it. There are the citrus derived stem cells. So we use plant derived stem cells in all of our products. These ones specifically are citrus derived. You'll find stem cells in a lot of skin care products. And it can kind of vary where they come from, where they are derived from. A lot of times they're derived from animals or even from humans. So ours are all plant derived. And so those stem cells are just providing proteins and peptides and amino acids that are really helping to kind of strengthen the skin. And then there's also the brightening component to that one. So it's a combination of amla berry which is very rich in vitamin C, licorice root, and uva ursi. Both are lightening and brightening ingredients. The licorice root, a lot of times that's used in natural products as an alternative to like hydroquinone which is kind of a yucky ingredient. But so that's the Citrus Stem Cell Serum.
And then the last one in the Signature Collection is the Probiotic Serum With Tremella. So this one, again, good for all skin types, but especially good for sensitive skin, or skin that's kind of out of balance. This one has got the tremella mushroom extract in it. Tremella acts kind of similar to hyaluronic acid, really deeply hydrating the skin. This one has astaxanthin in it, which is a really powerful antioxidant. This one has some olive leaf extract and then the probiotic ferment as well. So that probiotic ferment can help to eliminate impurities on the surface of the skin. It can also help to balance the skin's pH. So again, a good choice for skin that's kind of out of balance or for sensitive skin. Scent profile wise, the Anti-Aging Serum, this one smells a little bit more floral with the rose and then it's kind of more vetiver heavy. The Probiotic Serum, this one, some people don't like the way it smells, it smells more earthy. Some people say it smells like dirt, I like the way it smells. So maybe I just like the way dirt smells. And then the Citrus Stem Cell smells more citrusy, of course. But if you're a scent person, that can be helpful to know. So those are the three in the Signature Collection. I kind of tend to think of the ones in the Signature Collection as a little bit more targeted. And then the couple that we will cover in the Wild Alchemy Collection, the Wild Fruit Serum, and the Activated CBD Serum, I tend to think of them as a little bit more like all encompassing.
So the Wild Fruit Serum, this one is in our Wild Alchemy Collection. I just have this little travel sized one here, but this one I love. Scent Profile is fruity, no surprise there. This one, it's good for all skin types. I like to refer to it as our “do it all” serum. It's hydrating, it's brightening, it's anti-aging. This one has a copper infused water in it, which is a really kind of cool, unique ingredient. It's got the apple extract. So it's the same apple extract that's in the Phytonutrient Cleanser. So with the vitamin C and the malic acid to help with brightening the look of skin. This one has knotweed extract in it, which is rich in resveratrol. This one has kakadu plum. Kakadu plum is another really potent source of vitamin C. So you've got the apple extract and the kakadu plum in this one. It also contains phenolic acid and phenolic acid behaves on the skin similar to an alpha hydroxy acid. So alpha hydroxy acids kind of help to dissolve the glue that kind of holds the top layer of skin cells. So they can help with retexturizing. They have an exfoliating effect on the skin. So helping with retexturizing and helping to improve tone as well. So that's the kakadu plum. And then this one has Madonna lily plant cells. So again, the plant stem cells that we use, they're rich in proteins, peptides, amino acids, etc. This one has a really dense infusion of those plant cells. There's about 1.5 million active plant stem cells in each bottle of the Wild Fruit Serum. So a really dense infusion of those plant cells, adding to the anti-aging component of this serum. So that's the Wild Fruit.
And then the Activated CBD Serum, sometimes I talk about this one, sometimes I don't just because I don't want to overwhelm people with too many serum options, but I'm going to go over it for this group just because sensitive skin was mentioned. And this can be an excellent choice for that. For sensitive skin types, I would recommend either the Probiotic Serum or this CBD serum or a combination of the two, using one in the morning and the other in the evening. So the Activated CBD Serum, this one is in our Wild Alchemy Collection. If you go to our website, it's kind of sold in its own little boutique, which is just because of the legality of selling a CBD product. But this one, so when we created this product, we really wanted to source the best, of course. So we partnered with Ojai Energetics to source our CBD and they are really a leader, really a pioneer in the CBD space. The CBD that we use, we use both a fat soluble and a water soluble CBD in this, which is kind of unique. It just kind of sets it apart a little bit from a lot of other CBD products on the market. The water soluble CBD is absorbed more quickly so it has more of an instant effect. And then the fat soluble CBD is absorbed more slowly over time. So it has more of a cumulative effect. This one, it's very hydrating. It's got the tremella and the hyaluronic acid in it. So it has a little bit of a thicker, richer texture than our other serums. The other ones are a little bit more aqueous, you know. So very hydrating. CBD, it's kind of hard to say exactly what CBD does for the skin because it kind of works with your body's natural endocannabinoid system to kind of go where it's needed to go and do what it's needed to do. But like I said, it has a very soothing effect so it is an excellent choice for more sensitive skin types. I never really know how to describe the scent profile on this one, but it smells lovely. It's also got some mangosteen in there. It's got a lot of really potent antioxidants, the astaxanthin, the superoxide dismutase. It's got the black cumin seed oil in it as well. And this is Grace's other “holy grail” product. So I always let her chat about this one a little bit. Are you there, Grace? Well, like I said, she has very sensitive, very dry skin. She also can be prone to congestion. And this one for her, she always says it really just kind of immediately calms down her skin and provides relief for her skin. So this one and the Botanical Hydration Mist are her two go-to products.
Then, in the Wild Alchemy Collection, we also have our Activated Night Serum. This one is our most recent serum launch. And this one contains our bioactive A-Complex. This is our retinol alternative. So vitamin A derivatives, retinols, retinoids. They're kind of like the gold standard and anti-aging but they're not really great for your health. They can be harmful to reproductive health. For skin health, if you're using it over an extended period of time, it can actually start to thin the skin which really isn't what we want as we age. We don't want to thin our skin. We want to create really healthy, resilient skin. We want to support our skin's natural barrier. So that's kind of why we created this product with the bioactive A-Complex. The Bioactive A is derived from algae. So it's a completely safe ingredient. It's a Made Safe approved ingredient. And it's going to have a similar effect on the skin as a traditional retinol. But without any of the harmful effects. Traditional retinoids also can be really irritating to the skin. So if you have more sensitive skin, a lot of times you're not able to use those products. This one, even Grace can use this. She uses it, I think every other night as opposed to every night. But even those with sensitive skin most of the time can use this serum. And so it's going to have that resurfacing effect, retexturizing effect, helping to improve texture and tone, helping to minimize the appearance of signs of aging, fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots.
This one, it's a nice kind of balance because you've got that activated bioactive A-Complex in here, but then it's balanced really nicely with ingredients like lavender and blue chamomile that have a soothing, calming effect. So this is an excellent one. Join the retinol revolution and toss your conventional retinol and switch to this. You'll never look back.
This one you do want to make sure that you use it only at night time and you want to be sure that you are using it with an SPF during the day because it can make you more sensitive to the sun.
So those are the serums. We still have elixirs, but we don't have to cover those, we'll see if we want to talk about those. But that's a lot. Serums are a lot. So questions about serums?
No? Nothing? All right. Okay. Well, so then we have our Concentrated Boosting Elixirs, which kind of fall into the serum category. Do you guys want me to talk about elixirs or do you feel like, holy moly, I'm already so overwhelmed. Don't tell me about anything else.
Ok. We will cover them really quickly. These are just kind of a fun extra product. A lot of times people are like, do I need the Concentrated Boosting Elixirs? You don't need them. They're just kind of extra. They're kind of a unique product. I feel like I haven't come across a whole lot of other skin care lines that have something like this. And they really just allow you to boost the level of activated ingredients in your routine. And they also allow you to kind of customize your routine a little bit more. They come in a set of three. They come with the hydrate elixir, the brighten elixir, and the revitalize elixir. The way that you use them, you never apply them directly to your skin. They are very concentrated, as the name suggests. So you always want to mix them. We recommend that you mix it with your serum or if for some reason you were not using a serum and you wanted to use the elixirs, you could mix them with an oil. The reason we recommend mixing with the serum is simply because the serum, like I mentioned, is a smaller molecule, so it's able to penetrate more deeply. So you're just getting those activated ingredients deeper into the skin.
The way that you use them—you pump your serum, or if you weren't using a serum, you would pump your oil and then you just drop. They come with a little dropper top and you just drop one to three drops of the elixir into your serum. Mix it up and then just apply. They come with the Hydrate. So the Hydrate is a hyaluronic acid with vegan collagen prepeptides. So again, we already talked about hyaluronic, very deeply hydrating the skin, having that plumping effect. And then the peptides are strengthening.
The Brighten Elixir. This is a pure vitamin C with seabuckthorn. So great for brightening the look of dark spots and pigmentation, as well as just brightening the overall look of skin. The vitamin C that we use in this is a tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate or THDA. There are a lot of different types of vitamin C out there. The reason that we chose that particular one is because it's a very stable one. So a lot of vitamin C products on the market are not stable. So you open the product and then it goes rancid really quickly. And then it's not effective. So we chose this because it's a very stable form of vitamin C. It's also a very non irritating form of vitamin C. It has a pH of seven which is the same pH as water. So that is the Brighten Elixir.
And then the Revitalize Elixir, this one is the bioactive A-Complex with astaxanthin. So we already talked about the bioactive A-Complex. That's our retinol alternative. It's the exact same ingredient that's in the Activated Night Serum. Same activated ingredient. And then this one with the astaxanthin, which, like I said, is a really powerful antioxidant. It's what gives flamingos their pink color, fun fact. And this one, again, you want to make sure that you're using it only at night and with an SPF during the day since it does have that bioactive A-Complex in there.
But those are the Concentrated Boosting Elixirs. So again, just kind of a fun extra product. Okay, so those are serums and elixirs. Any questions about the elixirs?
Okay, so then the next step in your routine would be your moisturizer or your facial oil. And again, we have several different ones. In the Signature Collection, we have the herbal facial oils. I tend to not go into these ones too deeply because they're sort of self explanatory because they're named for the skin type that they're designed for.
There's the Herbal Facial Oil for Normal and Combination Skin, the Herbal Facial Oil for Oily Skin, and the Herbal Facial Oil for Sensitive Skin. So, all of the herbal facial oils are a grapeseed oil base. Grapeseed oil is a light textured, skin balancing oil. And then they just, like I said, contain an herb blend tailored to the skin type they're designed for.
So the Herbal Facial Oil for Normal and Combination Skin. This one's a balancing facial oil. There's some echinacea in there. There's some goji in there. There's some tamanu oil in there.
The Herbal Facial Oil for Oily. I don't think anybody in this group needs this one, but it's the purifying herb blend with the black cumin seed and the neem.
And then the Herbal Facial Oil for Sensitive skin. I don't have that one here, but that one of course is for sensitive skin. It doesn't contain any added essential oils. That one's a bunch of omega rich oils. It's got camellia seed oil, sacha inchi oil in that one.
And then the Anti-Aging Facial Oil, this is the last one in the Signature Collection. This one is very popular. One of our best selling products. This one is a very nourishing, restorative facial oil. It's good for dry and mature skin types. And I guess to back up currently all of our facial moisturizers are oils. We've chosen oils because oils are more pure. They don't require any fillers or waxes to be used. Your skin's natural form of moisture is oil. So they're really easily absorbed by the skin. It's very compatible with your skin. We are going to be launching a cream moisturizer but I'm not exactly sure when that's going to be happening, but stay tuned. It's exciting. But as of now, all of our facial moisturizers are oils so just mentioning that, but back to the Anti-Aging Facial Oil, like I said, very nourishing, very restorative, good for dry and mature skin types. This one, it's got a bunch of different seed oils in it. So broccoli seed oil, carrot seed oil, chia seed oil, chia for example, is rich in vitamin B and zinc. So this one is very popular. It's a very dense infusion in the herb infusion in this one.
And then in the Wild Alchemy collection, there's just one. It's the Rejuvenating Facial Oil. This one is our most potent. It's our most active facial oil. So this one is good for all skin types, but not necessarily those with very sensitive skin. Like Grace can't use this one. But the reason that it's kind of the most potent, the most active is because of the way it's made. So our other facial oils, like I was saying, contain a really dense herb infusion. They contain a bunch of different herbs in the herb infusion and more seed oils and CO2 extracts. This one contains just one herb. It's the butterfly pea flower. And then it contains fewer of the CO2 extracts and seed oils. And the reason for that, the reason that we included fewer, is because then we were able to include those few at higher concentrations, at higher percentages. So it makes it more potent. It makes it more active. And like I was saying, this one is good for all skin types except very sensitive. It's got mongongo oil in it, which is very softening. This one makes your skin feel very soft. It's got marula oil in it, which is very antioxidant rich. It's got baobab oil, which helps with brightening the look of skin. So that is the Rejuvenating. It's also got some blue tansy in there. And those are all of the facial oils. So questions about facial oils at all?
Okay, so that is your basic routine. Are there questions that you guys have?
Customer: So I'm the one with sensitive skin. It’s currently very damaged. So for the oil can I also use Anti-Aging? Or pretty much the one for sensitive skin?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: I would probably start with either the Herbal Facial Oil for Sensitive skin or possibly the Radiate Oil. And then if your skin does well with it, you could try the Anti-Aging Facial Oil down the road and see if it works okay for you. And we do have a pretty good return policy. So say, you go with the Herbal Facial Oil for Sensitive, you run out of that and you want to try the Anti-Aging Facial Oil and you find that it doesn't work, that your skin reacts, if it's within 30 days, we will always exchange it or return it for you.
Customer: I'm in Japan, so it's a bit tricky.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Oh, ok. Well, honestly, I have a feeling if that were to happen and you reached out to customer care, they would probably say, just keep it and you can have a credit for it or something.
Customer: Okay. Also my skin is quite damaged, so it needs to heal before I can actually take care of it. And so for the oil and also with the cleansing which are the products that can be used that are, you know not stimulating those damages that have already been created?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah. So I would probably choose the Aloe Herb Cleanser to start. And I would probably choose the Botanical Hydration Mist for your toner, for your serum I would choose either the Probiotic or the CBD serum, or alternate the two. And then for your oil, like we just talked about, probably the Radiate or the Herbal Facial Oil for Sensitive. And then another thing that you could try if you wanted, in the past when I struggled with my skin and it was very out of balance I would cleanse with honey and then use pure jojoba oil as my moisturizer. So if you wanted to, that could be something that you would try just kind of temporarily until you get your skin back into a state of balance.
Customer: Okay, you also mentioned the essential line, the renewal, I didn't get the name, but the renewal something, the cleansing.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: The Renew Cream Cleanser, yeah. That could be another good option. I tend to find that most people gravitate more towards the Aloe Herb if they're kind of choosing between the Renew and the Aloe Herb. But it's still a good one. You could always give it a try.
Customer: Okay. Thank you.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, of course. Thanks for the question. Cool. Okay. So that's kind of your basic routine, your basic four steps. And so then from there we can go a few different ways. If you guys want to, if you guys have more questions, I'm happy to answer questions, or if you have specific products that you want me to talk about? We have masks and exfoliants and eye products that we can talk about.
Customer: What about exfoliants?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So we have three different exfoliants and incorporating some type of exfoliation into your routine is important because if you don’t exfoliate you can kind of get that layer of build up on the surface of your skin and then your products really aren't able to to penetrate deeply and work effectively.
Exfoliation can be a little bit tricky because it can be kind of a fine line. You don't want to over exfoliate. You don't want to cause any irritation or inflammation in the skin from overdoing it. But it is important to incorporate some kind of exfoliation into your routine. And so right now we have three. We have another one that is going to be released on Monday. So that's exciting. But the three that we have now are the Ayurvedic Facial Scrub, the Kaolin Micro Exfoliant, and the Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant.
So the Ayurvedic Facial Scrub, this one is good for all skin types. Even very sensitive skin. It's a dry herbal exfoliant. So it's actually a powder. And you just shake it into the palm of your hand, mix some water, mix it up, and then massage it into the skin and rinse. It also can be mixed with your cleanser, so it mixes really nicely with the Aloe Herb Cleanser, or the Phytonutrient Cleanser. This one is so gentle that most people, if you wanted to, you could use it every day or you could use it like a couple times a week, or whatever works for you. The exfoliating component in this one, the exfoliating ingredient, is fenugreek. This one's also got Moroccan Rhassoul clay. Shavegrass. So that's the Ayurvedic.
Then the Kaolin Micro Exfoliant. This is our other physical exfoliant. So these two are physical exfoliants. They have that scrubby, gritty texture. So they're physically polishing the skin. This one, the exfoliating component is a crushed bamboo powder. And this one is a little bit richer. It's our cream exfoliating scrub. It's the kaolin clay base. So any kind of clay is going to be very mineral rich, detoxifying, purifying. This one has lavender essential oil. So that's the scent profile and then lavender of course is soothing and calming as well. And like I said, that crushed bamboo powder, to me, it still feels fairly gentle. So even Grace still will use this one with her sensitive skin. She'll just mix it with the Aloe Herb Cleanser. So this one, just like the Ayurvedic, you can mix a little bit with your cleanser if you want it to be kind of more gentle. And this one, most people would use this like two or three times a week. This one's great to keep in your shower. The Ayurvedic you do not want to keep in your shower.
And then lastly, we have the Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant. This one is a little bit different. This one is a chemical exfoliant. So the other two have the scrubby gritty texture. This one is just a smooth gel texture. The exfoliating component in this one is a honey derived lactic acid. Lactic acid is a very mild alpha hydroxy acid. And like we already talked about, alpha hydroxy acids kind of help to dissolve that glue that's holding the top layer of skin cells. So having that exfoliating effect, resurfacing effect. Trying to think what else with this one. It's got some cucumber in it. So rich in silica, cooling, it’s got some blue tansy as well. Again, a kind of soothing, calming ingredient. This one you do want to make sure that you're just using it in the evening and with an SPF during the day. Like I said, it's that smooth gel texture. So you just apply it to clean skin. You leave it on for just like two or three minutes to start. It kind of depends on your skin. For some people, if you're more sensitive, this one can feel pretty tingly, pretty active. I would not say I have very sensitive skin, but I do feel it when I use this one. Or some people who have more resilient skin say they don't feel anything. So, but we usually say just start with using it for two or three minutes and then you can work your way up to using it for 10 minutes. This one most people, you would only use this once a week. So that's the Resurfacing.
And then we're launching on Monday our Radiant C Mask & Polish. which I don't have mine yet, but I'm very excited to get it. But that one is actually a powder as well. And it's both a physical and a chemical exfoliant because it's got the crushed bamboo powder. So it's the same crushed bamboo powder that's in the kaolin. But then you're also getting all of the fruit acids that are in it as well. It’s this really beautiful fuschia color from the hibiscus that's in it. And then it's got acerola cherry and all these other really vitamin C rich fruits in there. And that one is kind of unique because it's a powder and so you can use it as an exfoliant similar to the Ayurvedic. You can mix it with a cleanser or mix it with water or you can use it as a mask and apply it and leave it on for like five or 10 minutes. So that's a new one that's going to be out on Monday. That wasn't like a secret that it's coming out on Monday, right, Grace? I hope not. Anyways, so those are the exfoliants. Questions about the exfoliants?
Customer: So you use them after you wash your face and then you put the exfoliant on for two to three minutes or up to 10 with this Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant and then just wash it off and then go to your serum and use your usual products for nighttime?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, exactly. So you would cleanse first, rinse your cleanser, and then you would exfoliate, rinse your exfoliant, and then tone, serum, oil, just like your regular routine.
Awesome. Any other questions?
Customer: We haven't talked about the Sun Love.
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Oh yes, Sun Love. So Sun Love is our everyday sheer sunscreen. That's a good one to talk about since we're talking about all these products that require sunscreen. So it's an SPF 20. It's a non-nano zinc oxide. It's reef safe. It's a UVA and UVB protection, so it's broad spectrum. It's good for all skin types. It can be used on its own, so you can use that just as your daytime moisturizer on its own. It's got pumpkin seed oil and buriti fruit oil, so it still feels very nourishing. Or you can use it over top of a facial oil if you prefer. That's just kind of just personal preference. But yeah, that one you want to make sure that you're using with your Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant, with the Activated Night Serum, with the Revitalize Concentrated Boosting Elixir. I mean, it's good to use it always, but especially with those products.
Cool. So then we've got eye products, we've got body products, we've got masks, maybe we'll do the eye products really quickly.
So we have the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum and the Anti-Aging Eye Cream. These are our two eye products. Both are excellent. I tend to tell people if you're going to choose one or the other, I tend to prefer the eye cream. For me, I like the eye cream just because my eye area always feels really dry and this feels very nourishing to me. They're both great though. You can use them together. So if your under eye area is your main concern, then maybe you want to use both. To use both, you can either layer them. So you would layer the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum underneath the aAnti-Aging Eye Cream. Or you can alternate, you can use one in the morning, the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum in the morning and the Anti-Aging Eye Cream in the evening.
A lot of people like to do that too with our serums because we do have so many and they want to incorporate more than one. We don't usually recommend that you mix the serums together, but you can alternate and use like the Citrus Stem Cell in the morning, Anti-Aging Serum in the evening, or Wild Fruit Serum in the morning, Activated Night Serum in the evening, or whatever combination you like. But the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum, this one is a true serum consistency. So it's a thinner consistency. You really do not need very much of this one. I always tell people, make sure you're not overusing this one. It's very concentrated. And if you overuse it, it just doesn't apply nicely. This one has got sake peptides. It's got pineapple ceramides. So the pineapple ceramides are moisturizing. The sake peptides have a resurfacing effect on the under eye area so they can help with improving the look of dark circles.
And then the Anti-Aging Eye Cream. This one has damas rose plant cells. It's more of that creamy consistency. This one's got cooling cucumber in it as well. So those are the two eye products. And like I said, you can choose. You can use both of them. You can use one or the other. I tend to like the eye cream if you're going to just choose one.
And then lastly would be masks. So we have a few different masks and your mask, it just kind of allows you to again, get another kind of dose of activated ingredients into your routine. It can be kind of like a nice ritual to incorporate into your routine as well. We have the Coconut Honey Mask, that one I don't have here, but that one's good for dry skin. It can be good for sensitive skin. It's a really simple formula. It's kind of a thicker, balmy texture. A lot of people like that one, like in the winter months when everything's really dry.
And then the pearl mask, the Illuminating Pearl Mask, this one's good for all skin types. It's a really great hydrating mask and it's really great for brightening as well. So for brightening the look of dark spots and pigmentation this is a great choice. This one's very popular. People love this one. I feel like this is a favorite among customers. It's a favorite among the team. This one has honey in it. So honey is acting as a humectant to draw moisture to the skin. It's got crushed pearl powder, which is a really unique ingredient. The crushed pearl powder gives it this really pretty luminosity that it kind of imparts onto the skin. And then it's also got the licorice root and the uva ursi. So those are the same two lightening and brightening ingredients that are in the Citrus Stem Cell Serum. This one, it's kind of this creamy, jelly texture. So it feels really nice and cool on the skin. It's really nice in the morning if your skin is tired and puffy. If you're not sensitive in that area, you can even use this one just as a little under eye treatment mask, which is really nice. So that's the pearl mask.
I don't think anybody here really needs the Purifying Mud Mask or the Charcoal Cacao. These are both more for oily skin types and focused on deeply purifying. The charcoal has activated coconut charcoal in it and then it's also very antioxidant rich with the cacao and the turmeric. But like I said it seems this group is more focused on sensitivity and brightening, so the Coconut Honey and Pearl would probably be the best choice.
And so for your mask, if you were doing a full routine, you would cleanse, then you would exfoliate, and then you would apply your treatment mask. Depending on the mask, you could leave it on for like 10 minutes and then rinse it off, and then apply your toner, your serum, and your oil. Really with the ones that this group is focused on, like the Coconut Honey and the Pearl Mask, you could leave it on longer. And you really can't overdo it too much with those ones, like the pearl mask for example, I know that some people on our team will leave this on overnight so you can leave it on for a long time. If you want to use this often, like every day you can, it's not going to hurt. Or if you just want to use it once a week, that's fine too. Whatever kind of works for your routine and for your lifestyle. But so those are the masks. Any questions about the masks or any other questions about anything?
Customer: Can I ask a question? Do you have, like, you just mentioned travel size, do you have those travel sizes for me to try some of the products so that if my skin reacts, then I can stop using it right away?
Emily Haupt – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: We don't have every product in a trial size, but we do have some of them. So I'm pretty sure that every serum is available in a travel size. I know that the Signature Serums, the Anti-Aging, the Probiotic, and the Citrus Stem Cell, those three you can purchase in a travel size in a set.
The Wild Fruit Serum comes in a travel. Activated Night comes in travel. They all should be there if you go to our site and go to ‘shop’ and then drop down to ‘trial sizes’. So that can be helpful for sure, if you're kind of trying to decide what to choose.
