Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: The basic routine that we recommend for pretty much everybody both morning and evening, is cleanse, tone, use a serum, and then a moisturizer or a facial oil. All of our facial moisturizers are oils. So that's the basic routine that we recommend. I always recommend that people customize their routine and just find what works best for you, what works best for your skin, what works best for your lifestyle. Maybe you have no skincare routine right now. Maybe you don't do anything. So you're probably not going to jump into a six step routine that takes you 30 minutes morning and evening and be really consistent with it.
And that's totally fine. So in that case, maybe you want to start out with just the cleanser and the facial oil. And then you could build from there. But that would be kind of like the most stripped down, the most basic routine that you would want to have would be the cleanser and the oil. And so whether your routine has ten steps in it or if it has two steps in it, you're going to start with cleansing, so we'll start there. So cleansing just helps to remove makeup and impurities from the skin. A thorough cleanse is gonna help to prep the skin so that it can better absorb your treatment products. We have four cleansers in our line. All of our cleansers are pH balanced, which is important. Your skin's pH is like a 4.5 to a 5.5 on the pH scale. And all of our cleansers are. 5. 5 to a 5. 6, which is actually printed on our packaging. So a pH balance cleanser is just going to ensure that you're not stripping your skin, you're not drying out your skin, you're not disrupting your skin's natural protective barrier, your acid mantle. A lot of conventional cleansers that have high foaming properties use surfactants like lauryl sulfates and they tend to be more alkaline so again, they can kind of strip your skin and disrupt that barrier. So all of ours are pH balanced, we use a safe, low foaming surfactant for all of our cleansers. It is a sodium lauryl glucose carboxylate which sounds very fancy but it's really just. saponified oils and plant starches and sugars.
Before we even jump into cleansers, I do want to cover collections really quickly. So within our line, we have a few different collections. And the two main collections that we have that we'll kind of focus on are the Signature Collection and the Wild Alchemy Collection. So all of our signature collection products have this tan labeling and these products are, like, our best selling products. They're products that have been around since we got started. And then we also have our Wild Alchemy Collection, and all of these products have the black and gold labeling. And the Wild Alchemy Collection, that's our luxury collection. So what makes it our luxury collection is just that the products in this collection contain higher levels of activated ingredients, they contain more exotic ingredients, and a lot of times the crafting process is just a bit more laborious as well.
But those are the two main collections, and then we do have like some smaller collections as well, So the four cleansers in the line, I think I might have left my aloe herb in the shower, the Aloe Herb Cleanser, the Citrus Mint Cleanser, those are the two in our signature collection, and then the Restorative Cleansing Oill and the Phytonutrient Cleanser in the Wild Alchemy Collection.
So the Aloe Herb Cleanser, that's the one we'll start with. That is our most popular cleanser. People love that one. If you have ever gotten one of our starter kits or our trial sets, you've probably tried that cleanser. It's great for all skin types. So a lot of times I tell people, if you're feeling overwhelmed, if you're not really sure where to start, this cleanser can be a good option because you just can't, you really go wrong with it.
So this one has, of course, aloe vera in it, which is rich in vitamins and minerals and phytonutrients and enzymes. Aloe also has some naturally occurring saponins in it that act as mild cleansing agents on the skin. We use aloe in many of our products. And then this one's got calendula in it, which is a really soothing and calming herb.
It's got lemon essential oil, so it gives it a really nice citrusy scent. I think that's part of why it's so popular is because people love the way it smells. And then it's got coconut oil in it too, which kind of contributes to that like creamy texture. So that's the aloe herb.
Then the Citrus Mint Cleanser. This one is the other one in our signature collection. This one is a purifying gel cleanser. So this one's going to be more for normal to oily skin types. And this one, it's just a more purifying herb blend. It's got a hazel distillate. It's got some neem in there.
And then in our Wild Alchemy Collection, we have the Restorative Cleansing Oil. So this one is a little bit different. All of the other cleansers you use are in a typical way, like you would use most cleansers.
So you want to dampen your skin and then you're going to pump your cleanser into the palm of your hand, massage it into the skin, rinse clean and then pat dry. So this one you use a little bit differently. So you apply this cleanser to dry skin. So dry hands. dry face and then massage it in and then you can just rinse and that can be it.
A lot of people like to remove this one with a warm washcloth or a warm towel. You can also use this as the first step in a double cleanse routine. And if you wanted to do that, you would just massage, rinse, and then you would follow with whatever cleanser you like as your second cleanser. Aloe herb, citrus mint, Phytonutrient, whatever you like.
And that just gives a really nice, clean feeling. So the Restorative Cleansing Oil, I love this product. This one is great for all skin types. So for dry and mature skin, it feels very nourishing. It leaves a bit of an oil on the skin, especially if you're just using it on your own, as opposed to the first step in a double cleanse routine. And then it's actually great for oily skin, congestion prone skin, or oily prone skin as well. I tend to be more oily prone and I love this product. It sounds counterintuitive, but like attracts like, so the oil is going to help to kind of soften and break down excess oil and congestion in the skin. If you're using it for oily, congested, oily prone skin, I always recommend really taking your time as you're massaging and really focusing on those areas of congestion as you massage the product in. So like, around your nose usually or down around your chin and mouth areas that tend to be more congested. And this one, it's a jojoba oil base. So jojoba oil very closely resembles the texture of your skin's natural oil. I love jojoba oil. This one also has manuka oil in it. But manuka is really like deep cleansing and calming to the skin. It's got some castor oil in there. It's got some tea tree oil, which has purifying properties as well. So that's the Restorative Cleansing Oil.
Customer: No, there was a question. So go ahead.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yes. So the Restorative Cleansing Oil is great for removing makeup. It's great for removing things like eye makeup, even water, and mascara. This one's great for removing things like sunscreen as well. I love this one. You also can use it like that, if it's just like light makeup, you can use the Aloe Herb Cleanser for makeup removal too. The Phytonutrient you can use. I don't know that I would really use the Phytonutrient like, over my eyes the way that I do with the Restorative Cleansing Oil. You wouldn't want that, like, on your eyes. That would not be great. So the Restorative Cleansing Oil is great for removing makeup. I always use this one if I have makeup on or sunscreen, like I said.
And then lastly, the Phytonutrient Cleanser. This is the other one in the Wild Alchemy Collection. So this one is also a cream cleanser, the way that the aloe herb is, the cream cleanser. But this one's like a little thicker, a little bit richer, kind of fattier texture. This one has a mango seed butter in it and that mango seed butter is what gives it that kind of rich texture. This one can be used for any skin type. It's got some coconut oil in there as well. This one, it contains our signature serum blend. And then it's also got an apple extract in it. So this one's really great. If brightening is a concern of yours. This is a great choice. That apple extract is rich in vitamin C and malic acid. So going to help to brighten the look of skin. And so this one, like I said, with any of the cleansers, I really encourage people to kind of take their time with their cleanse, thoroughly massage it in as opposed to just quickly putting it on and then rinsing it down the drain. You want to have a moment for those activated ingredients like the apple extract and the serum blend to really kind of be on the skin before you wash them away. But those are the four cleansers in the line.
Customer: How do you ask a question?
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: You can always put it into the chat too and we can check it out there if that is easier.
Customer: There you are. Hi. I have had such an issue with this. Sorry about that. Okay, but I'm here now. Yay.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Technical difficulties!
Customer: Yes. So anyway, did you have a question or you were just well, I've used both the aloe. Let me see. Where's my other cleansing thing? Yeah. The aloe cleanser, and the Phytonutrient Cleanser. I have combination skin.
So I have so many of your products. I'm trying to figure out more. Compact routine, you know, something and I'm leaning towards going towards the Phytonutrient Cleanser.. Yeah, a lot because I have tried. I love your serum. The Fruits serum but we haven't gotten there yet. So I'll be quiet until then.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: I mean, the Phytonutrient is definitely one of my favorites. This is like the Restorative Cleansing Oil and the Phytonutrient are definitely my go to’s, but lately I've kind of been using the Aloe Herb Cleanser more again, but I don't know. It's kind of fun to switch it up sometimes.
Okay, cool. we'll move on to toning mists. So we have three toning mists in the line. They are the Neroli Toning Mist, the Rosemary Toning Mist, and the Botanical Hydration Mist with Immortelle. So toning is just going to help to complete the cleansing process. It offers a dose of hydration and skin supporting nutrients.
Traditionally, toners were used to kind of rebalance the skin. After cleansing like we talked about, all of our cleansers are pH balanced, but it is nice to still kind of rebalance after cleansing because if you're using water to cleanse, the pH of water is a seven. So we'll start with the neroli toning mist.
So after you cleanse, you're going to rinse your cleanser, pat your skin dry, and then mist your toning mist over your face and neck.
This one is very popular. It's our most popular toning mist. It's a simple formula. It's the aloe vera juice. The Neroli Toning Mist, which is derived from fresh orange blossoms.
So it has a really lovely scent. I think another reason is that this one is so popular. And then it's got some aspen bark extract in there, which acts as a natural preservative. And it's also a natural source of salicins. But that's Neroli. This one, good for all skin types, especially normal, dry, even sensitive.
the Rosemary Toning Mist. This is the other one in our signature collection. This one again, pretty simple formula, the aloe vera juice, of course, the rosemary. This one has some white willow bark in it, which is also a natural source of salicins. This one is going to be great for normal combinations, oily prone, anything like that.
It's a little bit more purifying.
And then lastly, the Botanical Hydration Mist with Immortelle. This one is in the Wild Alchemy Collection. It does come in this larger size. The bottle is a larger size than the others. And this one, it's great for all skin types. It's especially good for sensitive skin. It's got a blend of four different types of chamomile in it. This one also has some rose in it. It's got the Immortelle, or Life Everlasting Flowers, which are a really potent antioxidant.
And then it's got Frankincense as well, which is known to tone, tighten, and rejuvenate the skin. So this is a very popular one. This is definitely the favorite amongst the team. And the scent profile on this one is definitely a little bit more herbal. Like I said, the neroli kind of smells sweet with that neroli essential oil from the orange blossoms and then the rosemary of course smells like rosemary. And so, like I said, after you cleanse, you're just going to pat dry, mist your toning mist over your face and neck. The packaging on our toning mist says to mist, let dry, and then apply your serum and oil.I actually don't love that recommendation. I would recommend misting, and then while your skin is still slightly damp from your toning mist, then you want to apply your serum and oil. It'll help with absorption so that the serums absorb nicely into the skin and kind of have a nice finish versus sitting on top of the skin. You can mist your toning mist, like, throughout the day if you just want a little boost of hydration, or if you get oily, you can mist the rosemary throughout the day. You can mist the rosemary even, like, on your hair, like, on the roots, if it gets a little greasy. Kind of a fun little tip for summer. When will the rosemary be back in stock? Excellent question. Do you by chance know, Rach, or I can look in the channel.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So questions about Toning Mists?
Customer: I've always, I've always loved your Neroli toning mist. Yeah, it's really popular. It's refreshing. It's just refreshing.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, it is. I feel like toning mist is a product that gets kind of skipped over a lot of times. But I can't live without a toning mist. I feel like I do nothing else because a lot of times I'm Busy and rushed in the morning. I'll just mist my toning mist and put on my eye cream and call it good. Okay. No other questions about toning mist?
Customer: So of course, all of you aren't dealing with what I'm dealing with is a lot of aging skin here. So for aging skin would the botanical toning be better? For me because she's didn't you mention something about it's toning and tightening or something
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah I mean, I think both are great, the neroli and the botanical.
I would say the botanical is kind of a step up. Because it's got the frankincense like I mentioned and the immortelle which is that really powerful antioxidant as well so I'd say it's like a little bit of a step up as far as kind of anti aging Ingredients but if you really love the neroli, I feel like it's a great option to, just trying to fine tune everything.
Yeah, exactly. I mean, you can always alternate, but if you're trying to pare it down, then I would say it's kind of just personal preference. You know, I feel like the potato with the anti aging ingredients, but the neroli is great too.
All right. Okay, well let's go ahead and move into serums then if we don't have any other toner questions.
So serums I feel like are where things get a little bit confusing because we do have a lot of different serums. serums are like excellent hydrators in general. They also contain high levels of activated ingredients. So they're very concentrated with activated ingredients. So they allow you to really customize your skincare routine to kind of target and treat whatever your specific concerns are. Like I said, they're excellent hydrators. So there's the difference between dehydrated skin, which is water dry skin, and dry skin, which is oil dry skin. And so that is why we recommend using a combination of both hydrating products and moisturizing products, because then you're treating both the dehydration and the dryness. And most people have a little bit of both. They have a little bit of dehydration, they have a little bit of dryness. So your toning mist and your serum, those two products are your hydrators, and then your facial oil, that is your moisturizer. So with the serums, in the Signature Collection, we have the anti aging serum, the probiotic serum and the citrus stem cell serum. Sorry, my, my bad. Brain was blinking. I don't have that one here with me, but the Anti-Aging Serum is the one that we'll start with. This is our best selling serum. It's probably our best selling product. People love this one. Again, if you've ever gotten something like a starter kit or a trial kit, you've probably tried it. This one, it's great for all skin types. So again, I tell people kind of like with the Aloe Herb Cleanser, if you're overwhelmed, if you're not sure where to start, this can be a good choice. Cause you just Can't really go wrong with this one. It's good for all skin types. I like to refer to it as a daily dose of overall skin nutrition.
It's very antioxidant rich. It's got buddleia extract in it. This one has the life of everlasting flowers as well. And then it's very hydrating. It has hyaluronic acid in it. So we use a non GMO vegetable sourced hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant that binds water to the skin. Hyaluronic in particular holds 1000 times its weight in water. So it's considered a super hydrator. Whereas if your skin is dehydrated, then it's going to kind of emphasize the appearance of appearance fine lines and wrinkles. This one also has some rows in it.
So soothing, nurturing as well.I feel like it's very like a vetiver heavy.
And then the Probiotic Serum with Tremella, this one is also in the Signature Collection. This one, again, good for all skin types, but especially for sensitive skin or skin that is kind of out of balance.
This one has got a probiotic ferment in it. And that probiotic ferment is going to help to eliminate impurities on the surface of the skin. It's going to help to balance the skin's pH. This one also has tremella mushroom extract in it, of course. Tremella acts very similar to a hyaluronic acid, very deeply hydrating the skin.
It's got olive leaf extract. This one has some astaxanthin in it, which is a really powerful antioxidant that you'll find in a lot of our products. So that is the probiotic serum.
And then the last one in the signature collection is the Citrus Stem Cell Serum. Good for all skin types, but especially for things like Thicker textured skin, skin that has had a lot of exposure to the elements, sun damage that one is great for brightening. It's got a brightening trio in it that is almaberry which is very rich in vitamin C. It's got licorice root and it's got uva ursi. So licorice root you'll actually find in a lot of natural products as an alternative to, like, hydroquinone which is really, really good. What else? That one has the citrus derived stem cells. So we use plant derived stem cells in our products. With conventional products you'll find stem cells in a lot of them. A lot of them are derived from questionable sources that you might not want in your skincare product. So we use plant derived stem cells. These ones, like I said, are citrus derived stem cells and these stem cells are going to provide proteins and peptides and amino acids that are going to really help to strengthen the skin, to help to create, like, resilient skin so that is the citrus stem cell. So those are the three in the signature collection. Any questions about those three, or serums in general, before we move into the next ones?
Customer: Hi.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Hi,
Customer: I've used that before and what I found is it seems like it plumps my face a little bit more than I would like it to. Could it be because I didn't use it? enough oil or the mist spray with it.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: you said it plumps it more than you would like to.
Customer: Yeah. It seems like I was swollen, I guess, in a sense. I thought it was what I thought was really good. Serum, but I just felt like it plopped my face, the bags under my eyes.
I felt like it plopped those more than anything else. Does that make sense? Yeah. And then I thought maybe it's because I didn't use enough oil with it, or maybe it's because I didn't use the mist with it. so I was just trying to figure out which would be best if I just chose another serum or continued on with that one.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: That's an interesting question. I'm wondering if you felt like it was swollen, maybe your skin wasn't reacting well to it.
Customer: Yeah.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: And then, as far as using under the eyes, so with all the serums for most people it's fine to use it like near the eyes. I would usually say to keep it below the orbital bone.
Customer: okay.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Because you might be more sensitive in that area and then you could just kind of play around with seeing if it made a difference for you if you were using it with the mist and the oil. As far as using more oil, I always use more oil. It is just my preference!
I tend to use a lot just because I like to really massage it in, but you really don't need a lot. Of course. I know Grace says she has half a pump to a pump, which seems like not very much to me. But So I would say you could try doing the mist and the oil focus it below the orbital bone.
And then Still feeling like that just because you're using the word swollen. It makes me feel like maybe it's like a reaction and maybe a different serum might be a better option.
Customer: Okay. Cause I've tried two of them and it could be just what you said that I'm putting it on my eye as opposed to jawbone.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah, if you were wanting to have something in that area, then I would focus on something like either the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum or the Anti-Aging Eye Cream, just since those two products are designed for that specific area. Did you have the same issue with the other serum that you tried?
Customer: You know what? I can't remember because I was so focused on that.
I just ordered eye serum. So specifically for that, I just ordered that. So I'll definitely take your advice and not put it up so far.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah. I would try that. Also, Comfy, just rocking in your chair on your porch right now.
Customer: I know.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Like, that was so nice.
Customer: Do you have another one? Yeah, I have a question about the serums. I have used and I'm using the anti aging and the citrus stem cell. And I'll do one at night, one during the day.
My question about that is if you're using your sun love sunscreen, which has a tendency for me to be quite sensitive. It's kind of heavy, you know, kind of oily for it to soak in. Do you really need to then use your anti-aging oil or another oil after the serum before the sunscreen?
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So you can use the sunscreen just on its own as your daytime moisturizer because it does have like the pumpkin seed oil and the buriti fruit oil in there. If you would like to use a facial oil under it, you can, but it's just personal preference.
Customer: Yeah, I've been using it in place at least in the daytime when I put makeup on.
At night I will use the anti aging oil on top of it,
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: We'll get to those too, but that's great. Okay. Good questions. I do like to just mention the serums, because again, I feel like we have so many and people are like, I can't decide which one they all sound great.
All of the serums, I believe, are available in a travel size on the site, so you can always try a smaller size if you want to. And the three signature collection serums, the anti aging serum, the citrus stem cell serum, and the probiotic serum, those three are also available in a travel size on the site in like a little set, like a little trio.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So in the Wild Alchemy Collection, we have a few as well. I feel like the signature collection serums I think of as a little bit more like targeted, and then the Wild Alchemy Collection serums, the wild fruit serum, and the activated CBD serum, I think of as a little bit more like all encompassing, like the Wild Fruit Serum that we'll talk about now. That one, I refer to it as our, like, do it all serum. So the Wild Fruit Serum I actually don't have with me, which I love that one, so I don't know why I don't have it, but that one is in the Wild Alchemy Collection. It's good for all skin types. that one has copper infused water in it. It has the Madonna Lily plant cells. So it has a really dense infusion of those plant cells. It's got about 1. 5 million plant cells in each little bottle. That one also has let's see, it's got knotweed extract, which is really rich in resveratrol. It's got cockatoo plum extract and apple extract. So both the cockatoo plum and the apple extract are excellent for brightening.
The apple extract is the same apple extract that's in the Phytonutrient Cleanser, so rich in vitamin C, rich in malic acid. The cockatoo plum extract, this ingredient sort of sets this serum apart for me a little bit. So cockatoo plum is a very potent source of vitamin C. It also contains phenolic acid. And phenolic acid behaves on the skin similar to an alpha hydroxy acid. And alpha hydroxy acids help to kind of dissolve the glue that holds the top layer of skin cells. So it has a resurfacing effect on the skin. So great for retexturizing, renewing the look of skin and improving tone as well.
Like brightness overall brightness, as well as like, if you're working on evening skin tone and lightening the appearance of dark spots. So that is the wild fruit serum, scent profile, a little bit fruity.
And then let's see, the Activated CBD Serum. This one is kind of in its own little world on our site.
Which is just because of the legality of selling a CBD product. But so this one, of course, features CBD. We, when we decided to make this product, we wanted to source, of course, the best. So we partnered with Ojai Energetics to source our CBD. They are really a leader and a pioneer in the CBD space. This. The product contains both a water soluble and a fat soluble CBD which is unique. It makes it unique among all the CBD products out there. So the water soluble CBD is absorbed more quickly and has more of an instant effect. And then the fat soluble CBD is absorbed more slowly and has more of a cumulative effect on the skin. It's a little bit hard to say exactly what CBD does for the skin, because it works with your body's natural endocannabinoid system to kind of go where it needs to go and do what it needs to do. But I will say, this one is very soothing. So again, Grace, who is out sick has very sensitive skin, and she has redness, and this is her other holy grail product. It's very calming and soothing for her. She says it cools the skin and helps to minimize that redness if she's having more than usual. This one's also very hydrating. It's got the hyaluronic acid and the tremella mushroom extract. So it has a thicker, creamier texture than our other scrubs do and it smells really lovely too, which is nice. And then this one's got the astaxanthin, it's got mangosteen oil, black cumin seed oil, it's got superoxide dismutase, which is another powerful antioxidant. So that is the activated CBD.
And then lastly, the Activated Night Serum. So this one is also in our Wild Alchemy collection. This is our most recent serum launch and it's pretty fantastic. So this product contains our bioactive A complex and our bioactive A complex is our alternative to retinol. So you've probably heard of retinol. It's kind of the gold standard in anti aging. But it's not really great for your health. If you're using a traditional Vitamin A product over an extended period of time, it can start to thin the skin which is really not what we want as we age. We want to have healthy, resilient skin. We don't want too thin skin. So that is why we use the BioActive A Complex. This is a completely safe ingredient. It's derived from algae But again, completely safe, and it has kind of a similar effect on the skin as a traditional retinol that likes the resurfacing, renewing effect that you get. So this is a great one if one of your main focuses is the retinol. anti aging. this one again, it's kind of that like a thicker, richer texture. It's a really nice balance in this one because you've got that active bioactive A and then we've paired it with lavender and blue chamomile and all these really nice like soothing, calming ingredients. So it gives it a really nice balance. This one is to be used only at night as the name suggests and with an SPF during the day because it can make you a bit more sensitive to the sun. But that is the activated night serum. And then lastly, I will touch on the elixirs.
So these are the Concentrated Boosting Elixirs. They kind of fall into the serum category. These are just kind of a Fun extra product. You don't really need the elixirs. But they are great because they allow you to really further customize your routine and they allow you to boost the level of activated ingredients in your routine, in your products. And for the most part, more activated ingredients means more results. So they come in the set of three. They come with the Hydrate, the Brighton, and the Revitalize elixir. The way that you use them, you never want to apply them directly to the skin. They are always mixed because, like I said, they are very concentrated. They come with this little dropper top. They're like a pretty kind of liquidy, aqueous consistency. And so you would pump your serum into the palm of your hand. You would drop one to three drops of your elixir and mix it. and apply it. If for some reason you are not using a serum, you can mix your elixir with your facial oil. It's made up of a smaller molecule than facial oil, so it can penetrate more deeply. So just getting those activated ingredients deeper into the skin. But so hydrate, this is a hyaluronic acid with vegan collagen peptides. So again, very deeply hydrating the skin, plumping the skin, and strengthening the skin with those peptides. The brighten elixir. This is a pure vitamin C with seabuck thornberry. So the vitamin C that we use in this elixir is a tetra heyl, deel ascorbate or THDA, . But the reason that we've chosen that particular vitamin C. is because it's a very stable form of vitamin C. So a lot of vitamin C products on the market, they're not stable. So you open the product, it goes rancid really quickly, and then it's not effective. This type of vitamin C is also a very non irritating form of vitamin C. It has a pH of 7, which is the same pH as water. A lot of vitamin C products can be kind of irritating, especially if you tend to be more sensitive. So that is why we've chosen this particular vitamin C. And then lastly, we have the Revitalize Elixir, which is the bioactive A complex with astaxanthin. So the bioactive A complex, this is the exact same ingredient that we just talked about that is in the activated night serum. It's that retinol alternative this one, again, is to be used only at night and with an SPF during the day. And then this one's paired with that astaxanthin, which we already talked about. It's a powerful antioxidant and you can kind of play around with these. You can mix and match the hydrate you can use in the morning.
You can use it in the evening. Like I said, the revitalize you only want to use that in the evening and then the brighten. Most of the time we recommend using that in the morning. Like maybe in the morning you want to do three drops of brighten, or maybe you want to do two drops of hydrate and one drop of brighten, or you know, you can play around with it and mix and match.
But those are the elixirs, which again, are just kind of a fun, unique product. Okay, questions about serums or elixirs or anything else?
Customer: Have you touched on the resurfacing? Are you going to touch on the exfoliant? Yes, I will. I have not yet. Okay. I, and I do have a question about, did you touch on eye creams yet?
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician:No. Haven't got there yet. Okay. Any other questions about serums or anything?
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Okay, so next is facial oils. Okay, so after you apply your serum then you're going to apply your moisturizer, which like I said, all of our facial moisturizer oils.
The reason that we've chosen oils is because oils are more pure. They don't require any fillers or waxes to be used. They are easily absorbed by the skin. Your skin's natural form of moisture is oil. And they're like, how do I know if this is clean or not? I don't know what this ingredient is. A really easy thing that you can check for is if one of the first ingredients is water. It's usually not great because first of all The ingredient list is usually listed by concentration. So if water is the first ingredient, then that's your most concentrated ingredient.
And water is not really doing much for you, so you don't necessarily want it to be at the top of the list. Also if a product includes water, then they have to include more preservatives because bacteria can grow more easily. So again, with oils, you don't have that issue. Okay. But we have several different facial oils, kind of similar to the way we have several serums. So in our signature collection, we have herbal facial oils. I tend to not go into these too deeply because they're kind of self explanatory because they are named for the skin type that they are designed for.
We have herbal facial oil for normal and combination skin, herbal facial oil for oily skin, and herbal facial oil for sensitive skin. All three of the herbal facial oils are a grapeseed oil base, which is a light textured skin balancing oil. It's rich in omega 6, I believe. And so then they all just contain an herb blend that's customized to the skin type it's designed for. So the herbal facial oil, for normal and combination, is a skin balancing facial oil. This one's got some echinacea in it. It's got some goji in it, the herbal facial oil for oily skin. It's got the neem, it's got the black cumin seed, the herbal facial oil for sensitive skin. That one contains no added essential oils, so it makes it a good option for sensitive skin. It's got a bunch of different omega rich oils in there, like Cham seed oil and such a inchy oil. So those are the herbal facial oils.
And then we have the Anti-Aging Facial Oil. So this one is the most popular, best selling facial oil. People love this one. Again, if you've tried a starter kit, you've probably tried it. This is a great one for dry and mature skin. It's a jojoba oil base which again, jojoba very closely resembles the texture of your skin's natural sebum. It's a very, nourishing, restorative facial oil. It's got the jojoba, it's got plantago, which is gonna be like, kind of deep cleansing to the skin. It's got a bunch of different seed oils in it. So it's got carrot seed oil. It's got broccoli seed oil. It's got chia seed oil. Chia, for example, is rich in vitamin B and zinc. So this one, like I said, a great choice for dry and mature skin, a very nourishing, restorative facial moisturizer. Very popular. And then in our Wild Alchemy Collection, we have the rejuvenating facial oil. So this is our most potent, our most active facial oil. This one, it's a jojoba oil base, again. All of our other facial oils contain several different herbs and seed oils and CO2 extracts.
This Rejuvenating Facial Oil contains far fewer. So it only contains one herb, it's the butterfly pea flower. Which is very rich in antioxidants. And the reason for that is that then we were able to include those ingredients at higher concentrations at higher percentages. So it makes it more active. It makes it more potent. So this one is good for all skin types. It's not always the best choice if you're extremely sensitive. It's got let's see, it's got brightening baobab oil in it. It's got antioxidant rich marula oil in it. This one has mongongo oil in it, which is really sweet. softening to the skin. So it makes your skin just feel really soft. This one has blue tansy in it, which gives it like this little bit of a blue green tint. But that blue tansy is actually like a really soothing calming ingredient.
Even though, like I said, some people with really sensitive skin can't use it. But that's the rejuvenating facial oil. And this one, like I said, is great for all skin types. And our most potent, most active oil. Okay, so those are facial oils. Questions about facial oils?
Customer: No.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So your facial oil, after you mist your toning mist, you apply your serum, and then your oil goes over top of your serum. If you want to, you could mist it. Again, before you apply your facial oil if you're new to using facial oils and you feel like you don't like the oil, like if you feel like it feels heavy or greasy, then definitely make sure that you're applying when skin is still damp so that it's absorbing into the skin and not just sitting on the skin.
And then also, you know, use less, like I said, I like to use a ton of oil, but if you're somebody who feels like it feels heavier or greasy, you really don't need that much. They're very concentrated. Okay, so those are facial oils. So that is your basic routine, your cleanser, your toner, your serum, your oil.
Then we can talk about the extras. So we'll start out by talking about exfoliants. So I do like to usually touch on exfoliation. I think exfoliation is important in a routine. A lot of times people are like, oh, I'm using all these really moisturizing products, but my skin still feels dry. What am I doing wrong? A lot of times if you're not exfoliating, you'll get kind of a layer of like buildup on the skin and then your hydrating products, your moisturizing products, all of these treatment products that you're using are not able to really absorb and be effective. So it is important to exfoliate. But it is a fine line. You don't want to over exfoliate because you don't want to cause any temporary redness in the skin. And so we have three different exfoliants in the line.
We have the Ayurvedic Facial Scrub, the Kaolin Micro Exfoliant, And then the Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant.
So the Ayurvedic Facial Scrub, this one is a dry herb exfoliant. So it's a powder. It's good for all skin types. It's even very sensitive skin. This one, it's hard to overdo it. If you wanted to, most people could use it every day if you want to. So you just shake it into the palm of your hand. You mix it with a little bit of water, create it like a paste, massage it into the skin and rinse.
If you want to, you can also just shake it and mix it right in with your cleanser which is what I like to do because it just saves a step and I like to multitask. It mixes really nicely with the cream cleansers. So that's the Ayurvedic, the Kaolin Micro Exfoliant, this one is a cream facial scrub, this is Kaling clay base.
So any kind of clay is going to be very mineral rich, very purifying to the skin. This one has lavender essential oil in it. So calming, soothing. That's the scent profile as well. It smells like lavender, so it smells lovely. This one has crushed bamboo powder, so that is the exfoliating property in this one. This one's good for all skin types. If you're very sensitive, it might not be the best choice but you can mix it. if you're sensitive and you want to use it, this one also mixes well. with the green cleansers with the aloe herb or the phytonutrient. But that is the kaolin micro exfoliant.
And then lastly, we have the Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant. That one is a little bit different. So these two are physical exfoliants. They have a scrubby gritty texture that is physically polishing the skin.
The Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant. I don't have one here, but that one is a chemical exfoliant. So it's a honey derived lactic acid.
That is the exfoliating component in that one. The lactic acid is a very mild alpha hydroxy acid. So again, those alpha hydroxy acids kind of dissolve that glue that holds the top layer of skin cells. So it has a resurfacing effect on the skin. This one, it's a smooth gel texture, so you use it kind of similar to the way you would use a mask. So after you cleanse the skin, you apply the exfoliant. To start, you want to leave it on for just like two or three minutes. Because it can feel a little bit active, like a little bit tingly for most people. And then you can work your way up to leaving it on for like 10 minutes. And then you just want to make sure that you thoroughly remove it. This one is to be used in the evening and with an SPF during the day. This one, it's got cucumber in it too, and blue tansy. Lactic acid and then the calming soothing ingredients. So the kaolin micro exfoliant, this one most people can use like two times a week, maybe three times. And then the Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant, most people want to use that just once a week. So questions about exfoliants.
Customer: Okay, I have a question. Okay, on the last one, the Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant, I have tried it and I put it on and first I took it off like within three or four minutes. Yeah. Nothing. I didn't feel anything. It didn't look at it. So then I've left it on longer and I'm still not, you know, 10, 15 minutes.
How long, I guess my question is how long can you leave it on?
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: I mean, for most people, 10 minutes is like I think if you're not feeling activity and you want to leave it on for 15 minutes, I don't think it's going to hurt you. I feel like 10 minutes is kind of like the usual max for people.
Customer: because I was thinking about leaving out overnight, so I'm glad I didn’t
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: yeah. I mean, I feel like if you're wanting a nighttime resurfacing treatment, the better option would be the activated night serum. And if you're something even more active, more boosted, you could mix three drops of your revitalize with the activated night serum.
And that would be good, like resurfacing overnight treatment. Especially if you did the Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant for 10 minutes and then put this on overnight. I feel like that's pretty. I don't need to let go any more crazy than that. I gotta be rolling off extra skin.
Customer: You know, I guess what made me think why I got this was because when I got the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum.I love this. Yeah, and it might be I have a question. Like I put it on I even put it on like between my and like above my above my the lips here No, and I find that in the morning because I only use it at night. I use the other eye cream during the day Yeah But I find that the eye serum pills.. And my question is, am is it dead skin pilling? Or the product?
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: So the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum is one that I always tell people to use less because we have gotten that feedback that if you use too much of it and it can be helpful also to apply it when your skin is still slightly damp, but you only really need a little bit of that one because people do say if you over apply it, that it does kind of like peel or pill a little bit.
Customer: could be that dead skin?. It could be. I mean, it feels fresher underneath.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Yeah. I feel like if it's just the fruit ceramide eye serum, it's more likely that it's the product than skin, I would think, because there's not really like an exfoliating component in that one.
Okay. So you might be using a little bit too much of it, just to.
Customer: Is that okay to use during the day?
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Actually another team member of ours, she said she uses it in the morning and she uses the Anti-Aging Eye Cream at night because she feels It's like lighter and so she likes it better when she's has like makeup and stuff on so that one can use either morning or evening And yeah, the fruit ceramide eye serum So the two eye products are the fruit ceramide eye serum and the Anti-Aging Eye Cream.
They're both great. I personally prefer the Anti-Aging Eye Cream. Like if you're just going to choose one or the other that's What I recommend to people, but that's just because I tend to be very dry in my eye area. And so I like that one because it feels really nourishing. It's also cucumber in it, which is really rich in silica and cooling.
So good for puffiness. It's got the damas rose plant cells and then the fruit ceramide eye serum. That one is great as well, it's got saki peptides in it, so that can be a good choice if dark under eye circles are a big concern of yours, the Fruit Ceramide Eye Serum could be a good choice. Also, they're good to alternate like we just talked about. You can use one in the morning, one at night, if you want to use both. Also, if your eye area is a main concern of yours, you can use them together and layer them. Like you could layer the fruit ceramide eye serum under the eye cream.
So a few different options with those. And that is a great tip that you mentioned. Eye creams usually have a lot of. Like high concentrations of activated ingredients, so it's great to kind of use them here or like around the lips for fine line, that's a great tip. Question in the chat, too. Okay. Oh, makeup. So we don't have our own makeup anymore. We did some years ago. But we do have one makeup product in our favorite brands marketplace. So our favorite brands marketplace is Products from other companies that we recommend. So we do have a mineral powder foundation there from Au Naturale.
I know we're having trouble restocking their foundation shades so we might not have the greatest selection of shades. I'm not sure what all is there. I know we are also going to be doing a live shopping event that's makeup.
Sometime soon we'll be talking about different makeup products and different brands. A natural mineral powder that's in the favorite brands marketplace is a great one. I just know a lot of people like if you have dry or mature skin, some people prefer using more of a cream foundation.
So I also like RMS, a really great brand that's pretty clean and has cream. Foundation, and then I also really like Kier Weiss. That's another really good one. I used to do a lot of wedding makeup and used that one for my wedding makeup. And they have a really nice cream foundation as well. And that one's very clean too. But those are the, Oh yes. And then we do have our Lip & Cheek Tint, which Rach just put in there. That's my favorite.
Customer: Yeah. Alexis, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cut you off Emily. You can put it like, I use it as my highlighter. I use it. I don't have anything on right now, but I use it on my eyes.
I've used it on my lips. It's just, we have all used it in different ways. It's so amazing. Like by far my favorite. Yeah, I'm also just looking at it because I'm a performer. I know I said this in the chat, but I use makeup all the time.
And I just recently survived breast cancer. So I'm trying to look at more healthy alternatives to stuff that I'm putting on my face.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Awesome. Yeah. That lip and cheek tint is awesome. It's pretty new. We use an alkanet root powder in it for the color. And it's great. like Rach was saying, it's so versatile.
our other team member, another Rach, uses it for contouring and it looks so great on her. I'm always like, dang, you look good. If you can, you should join that live shopping event for the makeup.
It'll be fun. And we'll be talking about a bunch of different makeup brands that are clean, that we like.
Yes, our CEO is currently so she has been spending the last couple of months really researching and diving deep into other makeup brands to bring on, to be a part of, you know, To partner with and that live event will be diving deeper into those particular products, which I'm super excited for on a marketing aspect, because we do get asked a lot in customer care and on these calls for like clean options for mascara, for eyeshadows for everything really.
And I'm huge. I love makeup. So I'm very big on that too. So yes, that live event keeps an eye out. We'll be sharing it in emails. We'll be sending it out to everybody. I can make a note too, for Alexis, for Grace, for when she gets back, she'll be back hopefully tomorrow to make sure that you have it, that live event in your hands so that you can join us on that. And it'll be sometime in July. I don't have all the dates in front of me, so I apologize, but it will be in July and those products have been vetted very thoroughly. So you will know that whatever our Rachel Pachivas, who is our COO, whoever she recommends. 100 percent you can stand behind because we are very strict on all of our ingredients and processes.
.
Anyway, Okay so perfect. Good questions. But those are exfoliants and makeup.
What else?
Customer: just got the Sun Love and like I'll pump it a couple times and then it barely comes out and I don't know if I got a defective bottle. It is kind of brand new. I've only had it for like two days now, I think.
Yeah. it could be a defective pump, which I mean, unfortunately that just happens. But what I do a lot too, is I shake my bottle.
Rachel – Annmarie Skin Care Emily Marketing Director: I've been doing that. Okay. Well, let me just have another one. Let me look at your order and I'll be in touch with you. You'll get an email directly from me, but It should not happen at all. I feel like Emily, do we replace pumps on these ones? I can't remember this. Let's be sure we do. I think we can just send you a new pump.
So, it should not ever be clogged. And when it comes out, like sometimes mine's sometimes watery when it comes out. So that's why I shake mine a lot. And I wear it every day. Cause I'm in Colorado and the sun is so strong.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Okay so I think we pretty much covered everything. The only other thing that I usually touch on is masks. We have a few different treatment masks, so I guess I can just touch on them really quickly.
The Illuminating Pearl Mask, the one is, My favorite. Well, actually I'm torn because I love this one too. But this one, I just tell everybody to get it. Cause you'll just love it. It's a hydrating brightening treatment mask. It's great for all skin types. It has this kind of radiance, this luminosity to it from the crushed pearl powder that's in there that it imparts on the skin. So it gives the skin just like a really nice pretty look. It's also got licorice root and uva ursi, the same two brightening ingredients that are in the citrus stem cell serum. It has a kind of creamy jelly texture. So it feels really nice and cool on the skin which is great, especially in the morning time. It's good for puffiness. If you are not sensitive to the under eye area, you can use it as a little under eye treatment as well to brighten. So I love that one. That one, you really don't overdo it. Like you could use it every day if you wanted to. You could use it, leave it on for 30 minutes.
You could leave it on overnight if you want to. That's a great one, Coconut Honey Mask. That one is very good for very dry skin, for sensitive skin. It's a simple formula. It's like a balmy texture. People like that one usually like it in the winter months. Charcoal Cacao Mask. This one is very purifying, very detoxifying.
It's got the activated coconut charcoal, and it's also very antioxidant rich. So it's got the cacao and the turmeric in it. Most people, you would want to use this one like once a week, maybe twice a week, usually just once a week. It's black from the coconut charcoal. So just a heads up, don't get in your white t-shirt.
And then the Purifying Mud Mask. So this is actually a dry powder and you can mix it with water. If you mix it with water, I would say. It's best for, okay, so it's best for normal, oily prone skin. But I think any skin type can use this mask if you mix it with honey, which is my favorite.
Customer: And I just ask one question before we sign off. Yeah. I use Radiant Skin Silk, of your body lotions, oils, whatever. What is your favorite?
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: Well, I mean, body wise, I feel like I'm dry. I don't know. I kind of switch it up, but I feel like Coconut Body Oil and Radiant Skin Silk, I'll use both. I also really like the Divine Woods Body Oil. I feel like that's probably one of my favorites, but I tend to use it more like in the fall and winter,
The scent is like more fall and winter for me. But the coconut body oil is nice and I like to just keep it in my shower and then I'll just apply it after I shower. It absorbs really nicely. And that one is just like, you know, one of our ones that's been around forever.
Emily – Annmarie Skin Care In-House Esthetician: yeah, I've tried the coconut body oil and I guess because it's more of an oil, it does, you know, unless you're like wet, I guess, then it would spread.
Or easily the divine woods I have not tried yet. I
like to keep the coconut body oil in my shower because it is nice to apply when your skin is sort of damp still and then if you were wanting more Moisture after you do that, I would put on the radiant skin silk if you're really wanting to you could do that, at night even But Those are my faves.
