No clean beauty routine is complete without a quality shampoo and conditioner. In fact, hair care products are some of the biggest culprits when it comes to toxic ingredients—do parabens and pthalates ring a bell?
The danger of toxic hair care
According to the Environmental Working Group (EWG), the average US woman uses 12 personal care products and/or cosmetics a day, containing 168 different chemicals.
Furthermore, one of every five adults are potentially exposed every day to all of the top seven carcinogenic impurities common to personal care product ingredients — hydroquinone, ethylene dioxide, 1,4-dioxane, formaldehyde, nitrosamines, PAHs, and acrylamide. The top most common impurity ranked by number of people exposed is hydroquinone, which is a potential contaminant in products used daily by 94 percent of all women and 69 percent of all men. (EWG)
The Truth About the Toxic Shampoo Industry (And 11 Reasons Why You Will Love Clean Hair Care)
Hair care products contribute to this number—and if you’ve already switched your skin care routine over to our line, there’s a possibility that hair care is the only factor contributing in your product lineup.
Making the switch to clean hair care
Sure, synthetic ingredients like silicones may make you think you’re getting silky/hydrated/or voluminous tresses, but in actuality, they are coating the hair, which in turn inhibits your hair from getting moisture.
Chemical-free hair care products contain naturally derived ingredients that provide true nourishment so you’re mane is treated for the long term, not just Saturday night.

Sweet Sunrise Shampoo
Our Sweet Sunrise Shampoo works to hydrate and purify your hair. Organic aloe vera hydrates and nourishes dry, damaged hair. Nettles restore the integrity of roots, while horsetail—rich in strengthening minerals—shields against free radicals.
Essential oils of lemon fruit and orange peel pair beautifully with parsley and basil oil for a bright, luxurious experience. You can expect hair to feel supple, fortified, and alive after use.
Sweet Sunrise Conditioner
This lightweight conditioner combines antioxidant-rich herbs with pure essential oils for a natural restoration. Handcrafted extracts of horsetail and nettle—rich in minerals and protective antioxidants—deliver instant sheen and long-term strength.
Carefully selected essential oils combine for a bright citrusy scent with herbaceous notes.
Key Ingredients
These three ingredients are at the base of both our blends. You can check out our full ingredient lists on the product pages.
Nettle
Rich in minerals and protective antioxidants, nettle leaves can promote a strong, healthy scalp. They’re packed with vitamins A, B, C, and D, proteins and amino acids that nourish hair and restore shine to roots and ends.
Horsetail
Long-reputed as a natural remedy for thousands of years, horsetail is versatile and powerful. It’s among the most abundant sources of silica on the planet, which has been shown to soften the appearance of all hair types.
A dense concentration of Vitamin C, minerals, and potassium help to improve the look of luster, sheen, and volume.
Aloe Vera
Our certified organic aloe vera is derived from the whole and inner leaf of the plant, then freeze dried to retain all of the essential vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients and enzymes.
This potent, synergizing plant is where our biocompatible ingredients thrive. It delivers beneficial nutrients and hydrating properties to all hair types.

Dry Skin: What It Is, How to Cope, and the Best Products for You
Katherine
Finally someone with a simple routine. I know the trend right now is to have a 25-step-skin care routine with brands trying to make us spend a crazy amount of money for the products, however I believe our skin loves it simple!

A question: What if you have color-treated hair?
I know, I know . . . You might well think I’m a traitor to the cause. But my colorist does a great job, and I really don’t want to give up on that. My hair and scalp seem quite healthy, because I will only allow him to use the cleanest products available to us. I’ve really enjoyed using all the other Annmarie products I’ve bought.
What might you be able to tell me—-except that I should stop having my hair colored?
Brenda
Just a question on what the packaging is for the natural shampoo & conditioner? I’m looking forward to trying them! I’m conscious of what products I buy and how to dispose of the containers after using. Thank you!
Lauri
Can these hair products be used on color treated hair?
Angela
Will you offer sample sizes of the shampoo and conditioner, so devoted Ann Marie users (like myself) can try before we buy?
