When I started this journey of creating products that were totally chemical-free, many people advised me to put just a little bit of chemicals or preservatives in them. I was not okay with that. That wasn’t my mission; that wasn’t what I set out to do. I wanted to create fresh, organic skin care that was like a delicious green juice for your skin. I wanted my products to nourish your skin, inside and out. How could they do that if they had the same ingredients in them that I was purposefully trying to avoid?
So I kept pushing and researching, and my perseverance paid off. I discovered Miron Violet Glass, and once I read about it I knew it was the perfect way to package my product line.
Miron Violet Glass is totally different than your average glass bottle.
The problem with other glass colors – like clear, blue, green, and brown – is that they allow enough visible light to pass through to damage the product. Things don’t stay fresh in them that long, which obviously wouldn’t work with my preservative-free line.
But Miron Violet Glass doesn’t do that. The unique properties of the glass don’t allow any visible light to pass through, with the exception of violet light and the spectral range of UV-A and infrared light.
This means that things stored in Miron Violet Glass stay fresher longer – not only fresh, but the glass also preserves the dynamic energy of what is stored inside.
That’s why Miron Violet Glass is ideal for storing healing substances, elixirs, and homeopathic remedies.
But Miron Violet Glass isn’t a new phenomenon – there’s evidence that the ancient Egyptians alchemically used violet and gold glass containers to store their healing products. There’s also evidence that it was used similarly in the Middle Ages, but it fell out of favor in the last 100 years or so when advances in preservatives were made. Thankfully, in the late 20th century the Miron company decided to begin producing the glass again, and it is now readily available!
Putting our line in Miron Violet Glass allows us to make the products we want to make. It just goes to show that a little research can go a long way! 🙂

Wondering if you recycle these bottles. I’ve been saving mine and hope if I send them back you can reuse them.
I just completed a survey on your website and commented on the dark glass used for your products without knowing about the Miron Violet glass. Now I know the reason behind the colour I totally understand. But, it is really difficult to see when I am running out because I can’t see how much is left! I live in Australia and order from the US so it takes a few weeks to get my supply. Not sure if there is a solution to that problem…need some way to see what’s left in the bottle.

Thank you for filling out our survey. 🙂 We know it can be tricky to know when it’s time to refill your products, and we’re trying to figure out the best solution… one customer told us she uses a kitchen scale and judges by weight! Very scientific, haha. An easier method for you might be going by how often you use the products to tell you how often you should be repurchasing them. I was wondering a similar thing as Emily — can bottles be returned to you for reuse?
We would love to be able to take back our beautiful bottles but thus far we have not been able to come up with a viable way of doing so. I’m so glad I’m not the only one who wondered about this! I missed out on the Christmas promos because I had no idea that I was so low on product. 🙁 I also wondered about a good way to reuse or recycle these lovely bottles. Does anyone have any ideas?
